16:35 I CANNOT BELIEVE they added such heavy music to a scene that had very little music in the game originally. I cranked my volume up so high. This is just so good it's unbelievable in the current state of modern gaming.

The fact that theres a dynamic battle theme....god the music sounds so GOOD

I really like the banjo-kazooie-style barks that happen when you talk to characters. Particularly that each of them is using the kinds of sounds you’d expect from that type or Mario character.
I cannot wait to hear what the piantas sound like. They made very funny noises in Sunshine.
I’m kinda scared to hear what shadow queen sounds like
I personally got Undertale vibes, since almost every character in that game had a unique sound for each.

THE ALTERNATE BATTLE THEMES
This truly feels like Heartgold/Soulsilver level remakes. Preserving everything we love but giving all the quality of life and extra charm it deserves!
It doesn't preserve. It censored the catcalling, the fat jokes, and any reference to the word "insane" or similar

They added Origami King leitmotifs to Bowser's theme, which I can't complain about because it was definitely a high point of that OST

I'm in love with this remake. All the characters have so much more expression now, they're finally putting that cartoony style to good use. And the music??? Gosh, it sounds outstanding!!
I really love the graphics, they remind of tok while being their own thing.
Both games look beautiful though, so I don't really have anything to complain about.

@@DAOC88 They changed it to a cricket in the localization since the frog sound they used was a specifically Japanese frog that sounds kind of chirpy, so they made it a cricket to be easier for non-Japanese people to identify.

Bro, why did I never think of remixed music? Paper Mario TTYD already had a fantastic soundtrack and it honestly does sound like it would’ve been made in 2024. Now I’m looking even more forward to getting to the moon in the remake
Honestly, even after you get the GC sounds badge, switching from the remixed battle themes to the standard one just feels silly. It's almost like the reverse Mario RPG where the older music held up so well, I thought it was better than the new stuff.

Hooktail's pre battle theme and battle theme go so insanely hard ;-; this makes me so hyped for chapter 4... so very haped since Doopliss is my fav one
They clearly go the Origami King route for boss themes making them a metal theme and I'm all for it. I'm thrilled to hear Rawkhawk and Macho Grubba because they were metal-like already in the original.

I'm dead sure chapter 3's boss themes will go very hard. Kinda makes me wonder if they will put a custom theme for bowser (chapter 3) and if they GC remix any of the new themes or if they go with vanilla music for the GC badge

i absolutely LOVE the interactions between characters. Espicially the Bowser and koopa interactions. Makes it feel more alive. I cant WAIT

The Golden Fuzzy battle theme is even more energetic and fun in the remake! I thought it couldn’t be improved upon! Plus, I love how all of these are getting new verses added in there!

awww they changed the goomba dialogue in the sewers.... That's a shame, the old dialogue sounds more like what a bunch of street thugs would say. Other than that, I'm really liking what I'm seeing and hearing so far.

I mean I like it, cuz the original sounded disgusting, but I don’t know how I feel about all those dialogue changes.

It was always meant to be frogs instead of crickets. The crickets part was a translation error in the error which is why the badge made sounds of a frog instead of a cricket.

omg, the remake changed the text for the Goomba trio under you encounter with Goombella and Frankly?! Why do you have to censor how much the Goombas like Goombella...? Maybe it's just a case of making the text match the Japanese version more closely? I am very surprised to see this change, and it makes me sad after just capitulating and finally grabbing the persona 3 remake and seeing how it was also changed. Hopefully we can at least get a Book of Mario out of the remake eventually to liven it up.
This game is going to be more inline with the Japanese Dialog.
@@user-be3qc7re9o This is not one of those cases, as the original japanese was similar in how they were flirting with her and wanting her to ditch Mario. it's possible the japanese version of the remake also changed this encounter entirely.
It's such a shame. These pearl clutching wokalizers always have to find some way to butcher the original. At least it saves me money.

The drums for the new Crump and the X-nauts theme just sounds wrong.
The ost is so weird sounding as a long time fan and player, is like a fan remix, might take time to get accustomed, i do like every change so far tho

None of it sounds like fan remixes, they all sound like official remixes and are amazing. The gold fuzzy battle theme is fantastic.

It looks nice and all, but... 30 fps? Really?? Original ran at glorious 60 fps!!
My assumptions for this are:
1. Engine issues, it's the same engine as origami king's which had difficulties to keep the game at constant 60 fps, so they capped the game to 30 to prevent perfomance issues;
2. In-built DRM to prevent piracy (it won't, only temporarily) but that ends up costing perfomance
Why are the grass fields reflective? Why is everyone's voice so grating? Why?
