    When you replace oil,take your bike off the rear stand. You always check the oil level with the bike on the wheels and straight. Good vid btw

      The only thing different I do is, I keep the drain plug out, and then oil filter, might as well keep it draining. and the cap is better to be taken out because of air

    Having a Superbike and thinking the oil is not gonna be black, is like having a lighter and thinking you are a dragon. Lol but that's messed up about the filter they might have changed the oil and not the filter, but you can't trust dealers, nice bike I have the same one love it. Ride safe.

    why do people wrap the headers, it just burns off when you fire it up, you should really warm the oil before draining,

    • @Pete3Heat
      @Pete3Heat 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because it promotes minimal coating in oil and yes it'll burn off but who wants to smell burnt oil while its burning off.

  • @njohnson3331
    @njohnson3331 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know how to spot exterior damage on a bike. It's pretty obvious when an engine case is scratched. Probably my biggest fear is when the inside of the engine is damaged. Is there a way to determine if the engine is burning oil? I've heard of some ways that it can be concealed by using higher viscosity oils. Any hints?

    Dirty oil is usually an indication the oil is doing its job. Also dealership will replace your oil filter with the factory oem filter.

    • @JayPee
      @JayPee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes fairing plastics are held together pretty well. It should be able to take a decent amount of force. Wrote popping without breaking.

    • @JayPee

      Fuel drain hoses, for when you put too much fuel in the tank, it acts as an overflow valve.

    I have 750 2013 and since i purchase it I have not once took it to a dealer to do repetitive MX. I could not see speding 200 bucks. I do buy my material from the dealer Oil motor and filter. I first did my oil change at 500 miles and again at 1500, 3000 & 5000 miles. From what I know most people do it every 3000 miles that all depends on how much you ride or how hard.
    I clean and lube my chain every 1000 miles. Keep record and reciptes for safety reasons.
    anything have dealer do it

  • @rakish001
    @rakish001 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    @JayPee, can we change the filter by removing the right fairing? The frame slider is bent on the left, so removing the left fairing is going to be a problem.

    • @JayPee
      @JayPee  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rakesh Reddy I'd honestly recommend changing the frame slider as well. If it's bent then it's integrity is compromised and if it falls again, might break the bolt that screws in the frame.
      But to answer your question, yes, you should be able to change it from both sides although the right side will be a little more of a task.

    • @JayPee
      @JayPee  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rajoun Yassine mainly you can tell by the smell of the oil, sometimes the color, but mainly by the mileage. For example if you get 5000 mile oil, then change at 5000 miles.

    Your bike is probably doing fine but I would never use non-synthetic oil or a Scam filter (Fram) nothing but OEM filter for these bikes, maybe the K&N. I use Castrol Actevo 10w-40 part synthetic if your running tight on $$$ or full Castrol synthetic every 3k miles for street use on my K8. Good vid, find a trust worthy dealership if you can.

    Fram are the cheapest and worst filters available. Do yourself a favor and invest in something better that filters down to smaller a micron size. Also, all oil will turn black. It's normal. It happens from small amounts of compression getting past the rings, and exhaust residue inside the engine.
