    Hi Cathy. When you use a rotary cutter push away from you while pressing down. If you are still having trouble you may need a new blade.

  • @donnas9599

    Cathy! All the quilters were cringing along with me when you were using the rotary cutter. ALWAYS cut AWAY from yourself, never toward. That rolling razor blade is WAY sharper than your old pen blades - she said, looking at the scar from the rotary cutter accident that resulted in 6 stitches last December. Safety hugs from Maine. :)

    And always, always, ALWAYS push a rotary cutter AWAY from you, don't pull towards you. Far more prone to slipping and potentially slicing open your other hand when you pull, it's significantly safer to push away, stay safe with your rotary cutting

    Honestly, my favorite cards I have made have come from unexpected mistakes made! So I now welcome mistakes because I feel like that allows me to be even more creative to figure out either how to make it still work or mostly covering it up without anyone else knowing. :) But then it’s awful to have created something so wonderful and others ask about it, but it’s truly a one-of-a-kind card because you can’t always repeat that same mistake to make a duplicate card! LOL!

    I have definitely foiled my foiling plates before! I am used to using the Minc and the hot foiling feels opposite. It isn't really opposite, but you build the sandwich differently, and it just doesn't seem intuitive.
    You can clean it off the plate with fingernail polish remover (pure acetone). It isn't that important for hot foiling. But with the Minc acetone is very useful and important if you get the toner on your transfer sheets.

  • @TealDiana
    @TealDiana 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    To be sure your die cuts the sentiment exactly as you want it, use the die and cut out on a scrap piece of paper. Then place the cut out over the sentiment exactly as you want it and tape in place. Set the die in the opening and die cut. You should have a perfect result.

      You mean to get the stuff off? I just wasn't sure what was stuck to it!

    So hammerMill cardstock is for foiling or is it also better for ink blending? I saw it a couple places and can’t remember. Glimmerfoil is a paper for foiling too I guess for foiling. I don’t have a machine only laminator and there’s so many other things I haven’t tried I’m in no hurry. I love that circle die though and I bought that electric eraser tool since you liked it so well. Hoping it will work well on ink,

    When watching foiling demonstrations on Create & Craft TV, the demonstrator always used to say "The side I want to see must face me" to remind her to put the pretty side face up when placing it down on the card.
