May I recommend the corner sofabed in Ikea its the Friheten - Weve had ours for years, its ideal if you dont have a spare bedroom with a bed in it, as it just pulls out with ease into either a great movie/datenight sofa or a double bed for guests. My hubby sleeps on it when one of us is poorly and my parents use it if they stay or we go away and they look after the cats for us.

I grew up with no central heating, we just had electric heaters, my bedroom was always quite cold. When I moved in to my own house 8 years ago, I loved having the heating, but I can not sleep with it on in my bedroom! I just became so used to sleeping cold and that just how I like it now 🥶😄

We found the 1st house is less stressful as we got our keys end of Jan and with us both working in the week only had weekends to do work but we decorated 3 of the rooms and fully moved in 6 weeks later. 13 years later I had a big 2 storey extension build on the side for a chill out area/ dining room with making the 1 bedroom bigger upstairs and to add another bedroom as it was cheaper than moving to a 3 bedroom house. There isn’t much left of the original house now and my next big project when my kids grow up is have a lovely bar build in the garden like you and your dad built at your parents house. It’s the best thing having your own independent and I’m sure we will all enjoy a live tour round your house when the museum opens. All the best for the future. x

It's a lovely house, great kitchen, everything is fantastic. Ur garden with being closed in, will be great for bbqs & when children come along they'll be able to play out safely. Attic is ok if you don't mind being closed in, great for storage. Top marks
Thats so spooky, your house looks incredibly similar to one of my relatives house. The kitchen is pretty much identical just a bit smaller and the lounge is almost identical other than the stairs being in a different place. Congrats you guys, got yourself a lovely home there 👍
I love my nest thermostat. It’s so nice to turn the heat on when you’re out and it’s cozy by the time you get home. Also we have central air conditioning which is nice in the summer
Great house and love the modern decor. So exciting ! Love the garden chairs in the living room 😂 but you will look back in years and it all part of creating memories isn’t it. Thank you both for sharing with us & look forward to seeing future changes … & your furniture choices etc 👍🏻
We still don't have central heating and don't want it! I find that if you've lived without it all your life (like me) then get it you become very nesh when the colder months kick in. Try not to use it too much! Plus it costs a fortune! We have two really powerful fires as we have two living rooms. Never been on full yet as it's not been needed. We use electric heaters for the bedrooms on low. So pleased for you both, can't wait for updates xxx
Congratulations! It seems strange to me living here in the USA that new houses would have radiators. Over here new houses generally have forced warm air heating. Radiators (although I agree are much better for heating) are usually only found in older homes. I guess that's because so many people in the States have central A/C and I suppose it's easier to have hot air heat and utilize the same ductwork.
