I believe what makes it Mexican is the equally matched forces, the inability to retreat, and there being no possible action anyone can take that doesn't run a serious risk of backfiring. Conversely, a regular standoff could feature two vastly different parties, and a much broader dynamic range e.g. in a siege. In conclusion, a Mexican standoff is a specific subset of standoffs. Why it's Mexican I have no idea, it probably has something to do with old westerns. Consequently, the standoff in this episode wasn't actually Mexican, because there was a clear imbalance in favour of the innocents.

you're an innocent with a special "kill me" marker that traitors can see from anywhere in the map. it's optimal to say that because that means innocents look at you more, either to see if the traitors kill them or if they are traitors themselves
If a traitor says they're the glitch while the glitch is still alive then that confirms to the glitch who the remaining traitor is which obviously is only useful info for the glitch since no one else can know who's what for sure but the glitch can kill the traitor and win the round which might not be a risk the traitor should take. If the traitor has secretly killed the glitch though then it's a good play.
well if you're not the glitch then the real glitch will say they're the real glitch. then we know one of them is the traitor and they can fight it out amongst them.

Such a complex and entertaining game to watch. I didn't like it at first, but after watching for a while, I realized just how much went into a round ot TTT. Now I thoroughly enjoy these episodes despite them being an acquired taste! Such intrigue and drama!

I like how they "recreate the round" by replacing a Hypnotist with no traitor weapons and 6 hp with a Traitor with full health and a red matter bomb. Seems legit loooool
That would actually been a cool traitor item if there was a way to make it work. A short rewind, everyone has the knowledge of what happened but all deaths/damage/locations get reverted to maybe 15 or 30 seconds earlier. Lots of cool ways to use that, but mainly as another revive for the other traitor or to revert a swapper's death.
The Time Bomb from Black Ops 2 Zombies pretty much works this way. If they could just port a fanmade version of the Time Bomb without breaking every other mod as well we'd be golden.
