Always a blast debating our differences - what should we chat about next?!

Tipping culture in the United States has gotten so out of hand. 15% used to be customary. It’s up to the employers to make sure their servers have adequate compensation for their efforts.

I knew Canadian's (like me) sad sorry a lot!
I guess I never noticed it in the UK because it was the baseline.

I’m from the Midwest and have always said “ope” and “sorry” constantly. Maybe it’s a Midwest thing?

Regarding the loud thing, having travelled a bit now,I think Brits are just quiet compared to others.

That's not true, Brits have the reputation for being loud and drunk on holiday in Europe 😅 they hate us. We just find Americans even louder

Video on who does whitewashing of history worse! And not because I’m trying to be mean, but because this stuff isn’t taught and gets hidden and the amount of trauma….. just acknowledging it would be a good start. I know it’s not exactly fun and happy but whitewashing history isn’t cool.

American etiquette to indicate you’re finished with the meal is usually to place fork & knife parallel to each other, with handles on the rim of the plate, pointing to 12 o’clock. You would never place them back on the table, or on a napkin to the side.
