Eid Mubarak for you too brother. for most Indonesian this (traveling to other place during Ramadhan and Eid Fitr) will never happen because we tent to come back home, we call it as MUDIK, for celebrate Eid together with family, such as the most important day in all year for us. if we don't go home, it's ok but you will cry when you hear the Takbir: Allahu Akbar wa Llillahilhamd. I'm glad to hear that they speak Malay similar to Malaysian so I still can understand since I'm Indonesian. When I traveled to Phuket, I met a few young Muslim then I asked them about halal food there, it was in bus terminal, but non of them can speak Malay, it made me sad. Alhamdulillah in Pattani they still speak Malay

That fried fish is simply called Spanish mackerel or Tenggiri Batang in Malay. Other names for them are Giant Mackerel, King Mackerel, Narrow-banded Spanish Mackerel, Spaniard, Banded Tuna, Leaping Tuna, Tenggiri and Batang. They may not have wanted to share the name of the fish in Malay as Batang can also mean = the male anatomy.

That’s a local green veg . Brussel Sprouts aren’t native to South East Asia and they’re a fancy veg . They are not something we grow up eating as they’re not easily available outside fancier supermarkets.
