- Hi everyone! In this video, I share my study tips and EVERYTHING you need to know about the school psychologist praxis! I recently took the exam and PASSED so I thought I would share some study resources and how I approached the exam. Woohoo! You still passed girl, get it! I’m looking at taking the GRE in October and I’m super nervous. I haven’t done testing like that in almost a decade (since the ACT/SAT). Would love study tips for it!

Way to go taking the praxis exam before starting your internship! This made me freakout for a second that I should have prepped already and that I should have taken the praxis already...
I'm usually one to procrastinate but I had a free summer so I had zero excuses lol 😆 you have plenty of time!
@@TiffanyLee Yeah I feel like it is studying for the GRE all over again... which for sure is getting procrastinated until I absolutely can't avoid it anymore. Especially with trying to get prepped/organized for starting internship this week... it is an understatement to say this is a crazy year to be an intern.
Tiffany, thank you so much for your videos. You are doing an awesome job! Congratulations on your passing! I am currently in my second semester in the L.S.S.P. Program. So I am wondering at what point do you take the Praxis? Is it before the internship or after?
thanks so much for watching! many students take it right before or during their internship. I just wanted to get it out of the way so i could focus on internship and the wonderful chaos of the school year. if your state doesn't require it, you just need to take it before you apply for your NCSP (if you want the credential)
Tiffany Lee thank you for your reply! I am in Texas and it is required. I agree with you that it is better to take it out of the way before the internship but I wanted to ask cz I was not sure when you are eligible to take it! Thank you again!
Hi, I'm a new subscriber and second-year School Psych grad student :) Super helpful video! When you said there's a low passing rate, do you mean a lot of people don't pass the exam the first time? Or the passing score is a low score?

Hi Tiffany. I just started my program and I was wondering, do you recommend buying books or renting them?
that's a great question! I think it depends on your personality and your priorities. I always bought my books (unless they were CRAZY expensive like $300+) since I wanted the option to write in them and keep them or sell them after I'm done. Some of my friends only rented books since it's always cheaper and not necessarily text that you will reference in the future.

168 is the median score. I got 185. I am happy with it. #5403
I just took the School Psych Praxis yesterday. When you report your score/submit your test, you get a score at the top of the screen. Mine said 174. I assume that was the unofficial score, but if nothing changes, it will be official score. I believe 174 is passing??? Help 😅

Praxis Exam
The Praxis School Psychologist exam is required by numerous state education agencies to work as a school psychologist. NCSP applicants must achieve a passing score of 147.

around 2 months but I paced myself! if you study intensely, you probably only need a week or two.
67% is the EXACT percentage I got on the practice test I took lol.
