When fishing for the Leatheries I would put two small pieces of prawn or cunje on the hook that way if they suck the first piece down you would get a second crack at hooking them when they go the second piece. Nice video.
Hi Sticky, this video reminded me of my childhood fishing for leatherjacket. Back in the day we used to use a hand line off the piers around Sydney harbour to catch a feed of them. How times have changed!!!
Nice fishing, mate and great weather conditions. It’s really handy that you show all your gear and other stuff before video. Keep going, very interesting to watch your channel. Is this spot closer to the Port Stephens or further north, after Hawks Nest? Thanks.
Ha... just read few comments. True Blue mate. Funny cos I just shallow fried jackets with some lemon wedges for lunch at 1pm with some friends down here in Victoria. 🙏❤️.
😂😂 8:10 i was having the same thought as you before you said it.Where the F did he go? The long pause in your commentating and the camera roating was comedy 😂
Awesome I love your videos Bro👍🏼 First time I caught 2 Black fish last week 😀✌️from your tips.. May I ask Those leather jacket bite at Low tide or high tide ..? Cheers..✌️
Awesome video mate! Got a quick question for you, how do you strike to hook onto them? Every time i'm leatherjacket fishing they steal my bait before I can hook them...
Thanks mate I just lower the rod as they bite it to give them a little line then lift up if you strike to hard hook comes out there mouth try use a size 6 long shank hook 👍
Brayden Kopp it grows on the ocean rocks and you cut it open and get the inside for bait If you type cunjevoi in on google it will show you what it looks like All check out my video ( how to catch drummer ) Witch is the video before this one and i show how to get it from the rocks 👍
How do you stop the hook getting stuck on the vegetation when reeling back in? I notice you don’t use a floater Also, what technique do you use? Cast and wait? Or reel in straight away?
Hi i use the smallest sinker i can for the conditions so it don't get snagged And i just cast a an wait to it sinks down then reel it in when it gets to close to the rocks and re-cast it 👍
Sticky Fishy Fishing: thanks very much! So I guess you need clear water so you can see when to reel in quickly. I gather this would be the same for squid jigs as the spikes on them can easily snag on the ocean foliage? Cheers mate 👍🏻
@@gdog7391 you don't really need clear water but does help just got to reel.it in when you think it is too close and it mite snag helps if you no the area to I've fished and dived here for years so i no what the bottom is like so i no where to cast and yeah and the same with squid jigs too 👍

To make burley I use a cheap rotary cheese grater. Easy. Grate the bait, mix with wet sand. Easy, it works. I bought the grater for $20.
Best as always
