Fordson E27N restoration

A full nut and bolt restoration of a 1947 fordson E27N major tractor.
Any enquiries about parts ,get in contact.
This restoration was started by a vintage enthusiast in co. Roscommon Ireland in September 1980. He sadly passed away in recent years and never got to finish the project. I bought it in August 2019 and finished what he started.

I asked a retired Fordson design engineer how they got the ‘eyes’ into the rear lifting arm pairs in such a way that they were free to rotate in all directions as a sliding fit yet without any slash. He said it was ‘an industrial secret’. I have a theory but does anybody really know?

Nice job. I take it you are in the UK somewhere, I have restored a 1948 model with the high speed top gear, about 12 mph. I'm in Australia so the wheels are different, solid cast steel jobbies and heave as.

I guess that's just the standard petrol/tvo engine it has. I'm think the perkins L4 4 cylinder and P6 6 cylinder engines didn't come until the end of 1948
