One of the biggest mistake ive done in modelling was convincing myself that i needed PE parts for most of my kits. Never had i felt such frustration when i was failing in bending microscopic parts perfectly and then getting glue all over my fingers for things that really didnt stand out that much. Some parts PE is cool and easy , but the bolts, screws, and hinges is were i draw the line. Might have to try those made in resin instead.
That look great Rick, very nice👌 Interesting how you applied the zimmerit & it really paid off. Excellent looking Jagdpanther, look forward to seeing how you paint & weather it…😯👍
Great done. Jagdpanther was probably most good-looking from all German armoured vehicles of WWII. And also Your works are very good, especially zimmerit, and these mad tracks. You are very careful, and it is very promising. All the best for You! ;)
Damn ! I am gonna build this kit too. As a destroyed one in factory. and respect for tracks work, I have build 3 panthers from Meng and skipped tracks every time.
A+ work and a great Vid.. I liked the music too. Mad me recall a Zimmerit job I did myself Maany years ago. I spent so long in focus my face sort of locked up. Lol. I was useing squadron green putty… I thought the toluene was the cause. Thanks it only lasted an hour. Thanks
Nice build. This is one I have in the stash, so it's good to see you tackle it. Great job on the zimmerit. One point: I may be wrong, but (going from photos and Meng's instructions for SPS-077) I don't think it was applied to the front fenders, just the superstructure and schurzen.
Yea, maybe? The references seem to show that 01 had it on the fenders, but I'm not an expert, and quite frankly I'm not really trying to mimic any particular reference. A lot more study would need to be done, that is for sure. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, and good eye. The tracks are just place-holders at the moment. I still need to take them off, paint, and then re-install. I hope to give them the proper "look" on final fitting. R
Nice one Rick. That Tamiya epoxy is getting hard to get. When I eventually found some I got two packs of each Anyways great build looking forward to the next one 👍
@@RickLawlerPropaganda you can guarantee if uncle night shift starts using something there’ll be a world shortage lol but you did what any great modeller does and you worked with what you had 👍
Dear Rick: new subscriber here. Can you give me advice on how you follow these kits with up to four variants? I’ve gotten into trouble with them before mixing them up. Dan
Honestly, I'm the last person you should ask as I'm no panzer expert. I would suggest getting onto some of the german armor groups with your questions.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda Hey, I actually made a mistake. There were 2-3 different patterns of zimmerit. The pattern you used would be really difficult to do with the screwdriver. The ladder pattern would be the one for screwdriver. Though I was thinking about the problem you were facing with the putty. There's this trick wargamers use with basing using epoxy putty: a little bit of CA glue to tie the putty in place. I've used Brown Stuff and CA glue together on basing. I've actually handled concrete that's easier to separate. :)
Greetz from Germany!

Barbarossamodels i know its unrelated but i love your channel and all the stuff you build ❤

thank you, my friend.
Great job so far Rick, you deserve a medal for work on those tracks! I have the Meng Panther, and dumped those sprues when i first opened the box!
It's not like I didn't think of trashing them, that's for sure. I think I got very lucky on this one. Thanks for watching.
I think that you pronunced zimmerit quite well... 😂 Great build...
Thanks 😅 I try. I have a German friend and asked him, and he pronounced it totally different. I didn't try to mimic.
Great stuff, thanks for the demo. A lot for me to take forward in to my builds.
Have fun!

I certainly thought about skipping the tracks...!!! Thanks for watching.
@@RickLawlerPropaganda No problem, feel free to visit my channel too.
Paul from NB. Thanks for a great build!! I have been terrified to try Zimmerit until I saw this. I just have to stop overthinking it all!!
Have fun!
So nice and thank you for your episode!
So nice of you
Absolutely brilliant!! 👌 I've been to Munster a few years ago and the JagdPanther is massive. Nice model.
Thank you.

Your old school method with the PE is the most durable, but I have never been able to solder the stuff and resort to CA glue.
The "old school" works for me, probably because I'm old!!! Thanks for watching.
Just bought my first soldering gun....I'm so proud of myself.....
Well done!!! Have fun.

Was literally just thinking about making this kit and you upload a vod on it the next day haha
Hopefully you can avoid my mistakes!!! Enjoy your build.
Great work, Rick!!!!
Thank you kindly!
Nice job Rick! You could pull the tracks a little tighter around the idler wheels and give the tracks a bit more parabolic weight to it.

Great work Rick but why did you use the plastic tracks if you had a metal set? lol they look good anyway.
Rick. There are so many types of solder on the market. What type do you recommend? Please
Jon, the solder in the video is 60/40 rosin core. Talk soon.
Nice job Rick. But please take a look at the trucks they should lay over road wheels
Only on temporarily, still need to paint. Check out episode 3 for final installation. Thanks for watching.
Another great video! Thanks
You bet!

Awsome

Please do yourself a favour next time and get some aftermarket tracks! Those separate guide horns looked like suffering :)
LOL...it was a self-inflicted "challenge"!!!
You know, you could use a small screwdriver for the zimmerit pattern.
Yes, I know that a screw driver can also be used. Probably easier than what I did. Thank you for the reminder.
