Auburns best seasons comes when not much is expect from Auburn by the media. I.E. 2010 & 2017. Im excited about this season.

You HAVE to win at least 7 wins in the regular season. The staff and team are much better this year. I agree with Mike G, the team was good enough to win more games last year, it was the coaching staff. We were this close to being at 10 wins. the 4th and 31. Show up against both NMS and Maryland, and stop GA's TE from catching balls on that last drive. That would have put us at 10 wins. We're THIS close to blowing up.
And I don't care what Freeze says. He's calling the plays this year. Last year was a throw away year. This year and every year after counts. There's NO way he doesn't have a heavy hand in the offense this year.
I hear Mikes point of saying if it looks better 7-5 is okay but seeing how last year went if the defense is even close to what it was last year a better offense you think would lead to at least 8 wins
I agree, coaching plays a huge part in wins/losses.. However, some games come down to a play or plays. That bama specifically, I think came down to 2-3 plays. That would have been a win in spite of a horrific passing attack. Hopefully the passing game improves and other errors are cleaned up. Good show!
Almost every game comes down to 2 or 3 plays. Agreed.
I think both things apply to last season. Coaching could have bee better and play could have been

I just wonder why he didn’t just bring his old crew together from the start? Was there pressure from above? Or just trying to focus on recruiting and being hands off elsewhere?
If PT has a good year, kudos to the staff. But that would be a major change. His decision making and vision down field was atrocious. Just hoping the WRs get enough positive plays to stick around for the next QB.
With the hiring of a really seasoned staff this year, Auburn is beginning to build a stud of a program.
With continued good recruiting and some good wins Auburn is going to be known as that team opponents fear!

Run Hunter, Alston, and Cobb, and run PA and RPO’s off of it. The running game is what Auburn is known for! I’m friends with Stephen Davis, Ronnie Brown, and numerous O-lineman since the 1990’s and early 2000’s. Run downhill and setup the rest from there!

Mike G, you have nothing to apologize to Thorne about. He had the worst QB performance in the SEC last year and one of the worst in Auburn history. Other QBs have had far worse situations than he did last season and still didn’t perform as badly. Until he proves otherwise, he deserves every bit of criticism. If he doesn’t like it, play better. It’s that simple. 🤷♂️

Where did Burton win accolades?? He wasn't a force to be reckoned with, too many drops and failure to separate, surprised he's still on the team tbh.. there was talk of him hitting the portal...he's down in the pecking order...don't see that changing, better talent came in through 24 class and the portal recently....and he was MIA during spring and A Day.
@autk I'd like you to give me the stat on how many drops he had because it wasn't many. He was hurt the first half of the year. Once he was healthy he came in and made some plays, looked crisp running routes, created separation. Caught tough balls over the middle. Again when he was healthy. In a piss poor pass game. Study his film watch his craft then you'll know why I'm so high on burton.
I know this sounds crazy, but does Hugh want to get fired for the buyout? Last year was so weird, so UNLIKE Hugh Freeze it made no sense at all.

I think he looked as last year as a throw away year. He didn’t have the talent to win the west so he focused on recruiting…. However as close as the GA, Ole Miss and Alabama games were… I think he miscalculated the talent… either that or he’s a better coach than we thought.
