🤔 NEW HERE? 🤔
Hi! My name is Christopher Odd and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon Age, etc). Of course, I am always looking for great indie games too!

MAJOR Subnautica vibes...minus the water, plus a station wagon, minus the leviathians, plus abductors, minus the fish, plus the scrapper.
Good shout. Subnautica is a good comparison. I'm excited to see more of it for now.
Just what I was thinking. I have high hopes. Your subnautica play thru is what kept me here.
Also STALKER vibes!
Maybe too early to assume there are no Leviathans… I’m definitely getting a strong SK’s “The Mist” here… 😎
This looks like someone finally mixed a car mechanic simulator with other elements to create something cool :)
If by auto wipers you mean wipers that automatically turn on when it rains, my Tesla doesn't have those either. They turn on when they feel like it.
If the first car was the "Pacific Pounder", then surely the second car is the "Pacific Flounder"
This game looks like it has so much potential, cant wait to see you play more!
We used to have a vehicle that drove like a wagon. We called her Betty Boat. In the late 80s, early 90s, my parents and grandparents used to smuggle groceries over the Washington-British Columbia border because we lived in Canada at the time and there were some items my family preferred to get from the US.
FULL THROTTLE! Was the motorcycle adventure game you were thinking of, Absolutely loved it.
But you only get gas once I believe - when you get it from the cops
He's actually played it on this channel.
I'm so hype for this game. I'm so happy you're playing it!
WAK!
Thanks Odd. This was exactly the video I needed today. The Olympic National Park is at the absolute top of my list of parks to visit and getting to take a scenic drive through it as a nightmare realm of ever changing realities is the perfect zen video for me while I hit the treadmill for a run.
I was on the fence about the car name. Your first ride didn't feel much like a Pounder. But the ride you ended the video in is 100% the Pacific Pounder. All 80% of it.
👊
@@ChristopherOdd👊
I didn't realise it was a real place.
I had no idea what to expect with this game but I think I’m sold for sure. It looks like it’s gonna be a lot of fun
We used to call our station wagon growing up the "Grocery Getter"
Hey Chris, I'm from the Pacific Northwest...well the Canadian side....and around here we say if you don't like the weather move 5⃣ blocks and it will change,....so raining on one side of the tunnel and not on the other is normal...lol...just so you know 😊
you always find the most interesting games! I appreciate you and I'm glad you shared this preview with us!
Were you thinking of the Lucasarts classic "Full Throttle"?
Gotta say, i do love inventory and car management in games...
I really like roleplaying games like that... and tbh it's a big part of my real life...
I like having everything in my car... tools, a bed for camping... backup food even
Safe driving, Stalker!
10:18 are you thinking of the LucasArts classic Full Throttle?
Seen Splattercats review of this and immediately thought this would make an awesome ODD series! Carried on scrolling through my subs list... finds ep 2 of the series. HAPPINESS IS 😁❤️
10:45 looks like the handyman's secret weapon duct tape!
I hope VR mod will come up for this one. So much potential!
Wow, can't wait to see the full game! Love the vibes, and what a cool concept!
This game looks amazing, would love to see a full playthrough when it comes out.
Let's not forget putting chains on your winter tires.
For some reason I feel like duct tape is going to be a valuable commodity in this game.
The fuel can looked really small when you dropped. Showing how little there was?
Fill your fuel can before you leave the pump.
"The Pacific Pounder" LOL! I dig it, cool name and JUST vague enough to be taken out of context.
I've watched this series repeatedly. I cannot *Wait* for this game.
So excited, this looks awesome. Subnautica and cars? Perfect for this channel
This looks incredible! Definitely here for the vibes and your new mechanic era 👏🏻
10:46 😂😂😂 you and Splatt had the same reaction
Thanks for the video, Chris! When I first saw the trailers for this game, I immediately dismissed it as "not my thing". Then I saw more trailers and heard people from my gaming podcasts talk about it and I slowly developed a mild interest. Now this video has clinched it; I just might get this game when it comes out.
Can't wait to see more adventures of you and the Pacific Pounder Mk. II! Will this become a full series when the game comes out?
oh, it's coming out the day before my birthday. What a thoughtful birthday present for them to make specifically for me 🤭 I mean, it is tailored exactly to my interests
Love it! Can't wait for the rest of it!!
Eighty percent of a car is pretty good indeed. As always, great content from Odd, lots of thanks, man!!!! 😁
There needs to be more road trip horror games. Something really cozy about the genre mashup. But all the games that scratch that itch are either very short story games or 1-man dev team survival games that never really get finished. Like I want a game like The Long Drive but with as much polish as The Long Dark has.
Looks sick, bro! Right up your ally 🤩
Yo dude ive been watching this game for awhile and im so psyched you are the one playing it. Love your content
The Pacific Pounder is a great name for a van :D
This Olympic Zone story bit reminds me an awful lot of Area X from the Annihilation books.
Yes! Have been anxiously anticipated for this game. The atmosphere and settings kinda reminds me of Simon Stålenhag art pieces.
Honestly alien like environment that shifts with a car u upgrade, not heard of this game but I'm hyped to see more Ty Odd!
Thank you Christopher, looks awesome
That game with the biker guy you were talking about I think is called Full Throttle. Love it to death. It's actually got a remastered version on steam for cheap
I am surprised that once you had some tools you didn't try to go back and collect any of the stuff you saw along your route, or even components from your original car.
And also, I really get ghostbuster vibes from this game, like, you're already driving Ecto one, then you install all kindof of weird-science gadgets. It feels right up there.
Very interesting looking game. I love the building and repairing mechanics so far. More Please Mr. Odd.
That looks rad. I would have preferred if the car was a winnebago with have a cozy interior.
Man I love your voice. I instantly know who it is and it's nice.
Lucas arts full throttle, i got stuck for ages before syphoning the police car
Can’t wait to play this, already preordered it like a fool
Pacific pounder for the win
I know I'm late to the party, but you asked for an alliterative car name: Dragpn Wagon. Odd's Hot Rod is just asking for trouble :) Looks great!
Hey Odd, haven't watched your content for a while (physics exams and such). Just wanted to thank you for your amazing videos and the way you play.
Not sure about Subnautica yet, but heavy reminders of Obduction. Interested to see where this goes.
Great video, Odd. I saw another video on this and you do start with the crude panel and crude bumper blueprints, as well. That person scrolled down the All Blueprints list instead of clicking on the sorting tabs.
You better get wood panels fast, or you'll never pull the chicks.
Liked it. My car was a 76ish Firebird.
Jaunty Jalopy is always fun, or maybe the rarer Cherry Chariot
This is the kinda game i want Odd to play! Also more AAA games xD
Hi Chris, it's great to hear your enthusiasm for such a unique game. The car handling reminds me of dead island, and I love the colours once the car gets upgraded. I hope you get in on the ground floor with the 1.0 release. I'll defo follow it.
I never thought this game would be so good, hope you keep playing it
Proper excited for this playthrough, game looks so interesting! 🤘
It's just so unsettling - to watch a car with the driver on the left!
I love the car crafting, blueprints, etc. :)
you have to call it "the family truckster" from the movie Vacation
Should call it Dexters Pounder for a throwback of Dexters Peeper from Subnautica lol
I hope they bring this to console for the none PC users.
Could have some great potential
Ok, I’m hooked!
This feels like that car game where you travel across eastern europe with grandpa and janky car
This game seems so fun and right down my alley!
Love you're reading voice.
14:25 hey odd its a car not a tricycle 🤣
Love you're reading voice.
Dunno if someone recognized the game you were trying to recall, bur I imagine you meant Full Throttle. Lovely graphic adventure game.
love this game. played a lot. its a must buy in my book
you forgot to fill your gas can😄
Splat is gonna love this one
yeah, full throttle was a heck of a game man, i feel ya
Oooooo intriguing stuff
Salvation Station Wagon
Sounds like corruption in government offices if it is mandatory. All season tires work well in most situations as long as you are a safe driver and carry chains when it is the winter.
This is definitely The Long Drive vibe for sure but with trees and nicer graphics!
" this drives how it looks"
The Odd Wagon
Thanks Odd, this looks awesome!
Dang, after it ripped your car apart, I was thinking it's a good thing it didn't rip you apart...
This looks amazing. Hope if works on the steam deck. I'll probably just watch 1 or 2 more videos to remain spoiler free.
I was really hoping you'd play this. It's going to be a fun wild ride. Do you normally name your vehicles? I'm driving a silver Malibu that I named Misty, I also have a glittery white maxima I named Pearl 😅
Yup. Pacific Pounder it is.
Are we certain?!
@@ChristopherOdd Got my vote, that’s for damn sure!
We’re certain
@@tjones1710 Even more so when I discovered that Pacific Pounder II had trunk gunk and a crowbar that works in even «the wettest of conditions»
Nah.. Cristopher's Amazing Ride.. =CAR :) @@ChristopherOdd
Whether or not you can use all-season tires primarily depends on how bad your winters get. Winter tires are better on ice and snow than all-seasons, so in places where there winters are bad enough, it makes sense that they require winter tires. I'm not sure why they would specifically require "summer" tires though. I've seen places where people run winter tires in winter and then all-seasons for the rest of the year.
Love it!
Love it!
Pacific Princess
If loving your first garbage car is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
I was looking for this this game
We called our Cadillac Betty
Switching between winter/summer tires sounds like an honest pain, and honestly sounds like a dumb law.
That's Tannis... If you know you know.
Lets name her Crash Bandit Cute
Game looks interesting also don't drive so fast off road lol so risky 😃
The Pacific Pounder…lmao
Missed opportunity to call our car just Pacifica=)
You had me at station wagon rogue lite
Missed out on the opportunity to call it Stacy the Station wagon
The game you’re thinking of is called Full Throttle
Love this! Please post more asap
And don't forget to set the vibes!
And if you don't know what that means it's: get some rubber, get some oil and show your baby some love.
