Ok like how you guys are watching twilight. And the vampires are mostly different from the ones on vampire dairies. So in the book they describe how when you turn, your body structure erupts in a material similar to diamonds, metal, glass, and ice. That's why they're so cold and frozen time in away. Because of the material they're made of its why Edward can push off the truck and why their teeth can pierce through skin. They're like predators kinda like how animals hunt. But their appearances are meant to charm people. Kinda like how if someone met a celebrity or an angel. Everything about them is meant to attract prey rather they like it or not. Its why alice can see the future and edward can read minds. And them stepping in sunlight would come off as even more alluring to other people because of how they look. Honestly the first movie introduces the vampires and their biology. The issue is that the movie leaves out a lot of details so you have to put two to two together for certain parts. Like they left how shy and clumsy bella is and how she never really fits in any where. Or that edward is naturally antisocial but being a vampire makes it extremely hard for him because his emotions tied to his blood lust. Its kinda like being superman but your in a body that makes you uncomfortable and you always are afraid you might hurt someone. He uses his ability to read minds to make people leave him alone. But with bella he can't. Its why he was so brooding. There's actually a lot of comparison between edward and stefan.
Because how similar they are( like how the attention is always on bella even though she doesn't want it, no one really understands her even in her family, and she's extremely perceptive. And because Edwards a vampire everyone wants to know him, he's antisocial even in his family and he can read minds)they kinda just fit. What also was an issue was that in the book they had way more scenes of them together in the four months they started falling for each other.
It's different watching Twilight for the first time in 2022 and oppossed to 2008. You don't understand. This movie had us all in CHOKEHOLD. Many of our best memories are tied to this era. Realistically it's comedic to see it now but for us it was everything.
Fun fact: Not only does Robert Pattinson sing/play piano and guitar in general, but he actually sings two of his songs in this movie! The song that plays when they're at the restaurant, as well as the song that plays at the end when he's sucking the venom out of her.
Even if it isn’t intentionally comedic I think that’s what makes it enjoyable, it is in my opinion a feel good nostalgic film and choosing to enjoy it with an open mind is what makes it
*The seatbelt thing was because Edward could get into a terrible car accident and walk away unscathed. They're basically indestructible. *When she walks in class, he covers his nose because he hadn't fed in a while (why his eyes were black when she first saw him and later they're golden after he feeds) and the smell of her was too enticing. *The thunderstorm was to mask the sound of them hitting the ball. They're in an open field and sound travels more than you'd think. *Vampire venom literally makes them more physically attractive, as in the boobs get perky, skin becomes unblemished, hair is healthy and luscious, all of that. The sparkly diamond skin is meant to mesmerise and make their prey see them as beautiful, they way they look is meant to be attractive. As though nature gives them every attribute possible to be alluring to their prey. Bella is not sired to him or anything of the sort, she's not being compelled
I will forever defend this series *of books.* I read them when I was 12 and in a very dark time of my life and this dream of an impossible love was the best escapism I could have had.
Books explained so much more. It's like breathing fire when Edward is around her because of the thirst. But he loves her and wants to protect her even though he is always hungry for her. She is also peaceful to be around as he can not hear her thoughts like everyone else. Bela has always been quite and different from others her age. Old soul kinda thing always taking care of her mom who is ditzy. She is the only one who can tell the Cullen's are something other. She is fascinated and feels like she belongs and has a family with the Cullen's. She falls hard and is loyal to a fault. Bella is so clumsy and awkward Edward is constantly worried about her.
The Twilight franchise had me in a chokehold in my teens lmao and it started with the books. Team Edward vs Team Jacob starts with new moon, I’m still team Edward. Looking back at these movies as an adult they are a bit cringe, but a guilty pleasure. I still have my days where I binge watch the whole twilight saga.

the original Cullen house is in Portland, and Bella’s house is in St. Helen’s. Bella’s house is an airbnb! you can’t visit the Cullen house anymore because people actually live there and some fans can be entitled.
As a twilight fan back then ( i was 13/14 yrs. old, dont @ me) its funny how most of us think that this movie series is SOOOO romantic and now that we know better, we realized that its a comedy show that focuses on Bella's red flagged journey in getting that Cullen fortune. She goes from 0 to a 100. .Honestly, I respect the hustle. .
I think there are a lot of things that are not explained in the first movie , but if you have read the books, you understand ( like the faces, or the weird looks of edward) for example: edward reads minds, so sometimes he stares weirdly at his dad for a while but actually, they’re having a conversation in their minds…
this movies are the kind of movies that you have a different oppinion depending on your age and if you read the books or not. i like all of them if i dont compare them to anything related.
This movie was a low budget movie and because of the fans the next movies after actually had better production put into it and a lot more money. I really think you guys should continue with the movies and see the development of how they changed it when they had money because even though a lot of the cringe components stay the storyline and plot does get better. Just for it all to come full circle it’s still below vampire diaries but it’s nice to have seen it. And fun fact the rosalie that’s dating Emmett in twilight is married to Ian S. ( Damon) in real life after Nina Dobrev who was also her best friend dated him. 👀👀
The reason this book attracted teens was because it was relatable to insecure depressed people with little self-esteem. Believe me, I was one of them. I actually SAW myself in Bella, which made the books perfectly manipulative. Honestly, if Twilight didn't find us first, domestic abuse certainly would have.

Charlie (Billy Burke) is a pretty good actor. I loved him in the TV series “Revolution.” A lot of folks liked the movies better for their soundtracks than the actual movies.
59:17 Kristen Stewart is not faimos for Twilight she was in 17 films bevor Twilight she started acting with 10 . Bella roll make her more faimos like Robert this film ruined both somehow but both proof the acting after Twilight she has 18-19 films also and some of them are good rolls. Watching this movie even before she became famous in Pitch Perfect it was very clear to me Jessica was the best character and was going to be a breakout star.
The attraction Bella had to Edward that is unbreakably strong is a Vampire's power called "Enthralled". Almost like a Moth being attracted to a flame. In classic Vampire narratives like Dracula, the Vampire can take over it's prey's own free will. That would explain much of Edward's hold on Bella.

They actually shot in Vancouver and the Cullen house was a real house but they couldn’t rent it so they built a set that looked exactly the same. The thing about this movie is that it's this fantastical romantic escape, very rooted in a female perspective, so I can see how a majority of men might not at all understand it's appeal. I was insanely in love with this entire franchise back when I was 12-13, and now even though I'm in my 20s and aware of how flawed the characters and films really are, I can still watch this once in a blue moon and enjoy it because it's an awesome escape. Some elements of the world Stephanie Meyer created are still pretty solid and exciting. But, yes, I now strongly believe that this is not a storyline young girls or women should see as aspirational, and have to agree this is not a good movie, it just has some weird appealing quality to it that makes it rewatchable and entertaining.

Nah! The problem with saying that most people think Twilight sucks is that the franchise made 5.28 billion USD at the box office. Receipts don't lie! Must be alot of people lying out there. This is called great business by the studio, franchise & the author.

This is soo funny looking back at it .. This movie had the boys running to see it in theater at my school it was the era lmao but it gets better over time .. Twilight (This one) didn't have a big budget because they didnt think it would be a huge hit like it was ) . Its crazy how the "New Moon" looked it truly takes you off guard lol Like you can tell the budget was more based on graphics alone
Fun fact the budget was only 37 million USD which is nothing lol straight up dirt so it wasnt a filter btw it was a bad camera lmao even the cut sense was horrible when making this movie they didn't even have the budget to really do a lot of commercials or promotions
I liked the books (for a young adult series) and enjoyed seeing some of it come to life in the movies. The first movie is the worst - due to the director and the acting (which is partly due to direction).
A lot of things that were in the movie and didn't make sense or were not explained will build up in the next movies. Like Laurant and Victoria. And like you said, Jacob. ..

When they’re thirsty, the smell of blood actually burns their throat and it’s almost impossible to resist attacking. In the classroom Edward covers his nose because bella smell is so intense to him that he’s trying so hard not to kill her right there. That’s why a little later you see him trying to change classes. And when the principal tells him it won’t be possible, he says he’ll just have to endure it….
I watch Twilight when I was 14 or 15 I am now 20 years old. watched it a month ago I love it. I didn't really understand it when I was really younger but I understand it now. and I'm in love with the movies LOL I am now starting to read the books. I love it. the books make more sense. I should have read the books, and then watched the movies. also what got me to watch it was Robert Patterson. he was my first crush ❤️
You guys *want* to hate it so bad, like hating it makes you cool 😂 Such a typical guy thing like “ooo, girls like it so I must be too manly for it” haha. It’s a story - sci-fi, romance, fighting, etc. Most “guy” movies have a mix too (often with a love story).
About like any older movie, it may have cringe moments, but they’ve done a great job w it. It’s not targeted to older guys. It’s targeted to draw in teenagers generally.
i am obsessed w twilight. the movies suck so bad and honestly the books kinda do too. it’s more of a nostalgia thing. i always end up giggling the entire time when i watch it, very enjoyable no matter how bad lol.
Being able to laugh at the twilight saga is the key to enjoying it!! Great reaction I will correct you on one thing because Kristen Stewart is actually really well received nowadays, she’s had great lead actress performances & has been good at picking her roles/projects. Tho it took a few years for her to stop being defined by her performance in the twilight saga. I’d definitely recommend watching her in Seberg (based on the real actress & activist Jean Seberg)
It took a few years for people to actually like her again because she cheated on Robert Pattinson (Edward) with a married man. Before that, everyone loved her because of the snow white movie, where she did an amazing job, which was right after the twilight saga.

It’s so odd to me that people think their acting is bad in these movies. They are literally their characters in the books. It honestly shocks me that people talk shit about their acting skills. I just don’t understand it.. maybe it’s just me.

Nah! The problem with saying that most people think Twilight sucks is that the franchise made 5.28 billion USD at the box office. Receipts don't lie! Must be alot of people lying out there. This is called great business by the studio, franchise & the author.

This is soo funny looking back at it .. This movie had the boys running to see it in theater at my school it was the era lmao but it gets better over time .. Twilight (This one) didn't have a big budget because they didnt think it would be a huge hit like it was ) . Its crazy how the "New Moon" looked it truly takes you off guard lol Like you can tell the budget was more based on graphics alone
Fun fact the budget was only 37 million USD which is nothing lol straight up dirt so it wasnt a filter btw it was a bad camera lmao even the cut sense was horrible when making this movie they didn't even have the budget to really do a lot of commercials or promotions

I liked the books (for a young adult series) and enjoyed seeing some of it come to life in the movies. The first movie is the worst - due to the director and the acting (which is partly due to direction).

I didn't really understand it when I was really younger but I understand it now. and I'm in love with the movies LOL I am now starting to read the books. I love it. the books make more sense. I should have read the books, and then watched the movies. also what got me to watch it was Robert Patterson. he was my first crush ❤️

I will correct you on one thing because Kristen Stewart is actually really well received nowadays, she’s had great lead actress performances & has been good at picking her roles/projects. Tho it took a few years for her to stop being defined by her performance in the twilight saga. I’d definitely recommend watching her in Seberg (based on the real actress & activist Jean Seberg)
It took a few years for people to actually like her again because she cheated on Robert Pattinson (Edward) with a married man. Before that, everyone loved her because of the snow white movie, where she did an amazing job, which was right after the twilight saga.
