Holy-- I gotta say, that was one of the scariest, most upsetting and most bleak creepypastas I've ever heard (or read). You brought it to horrifying life so well; the narration, the sound effects, the music, GOD! Well done, truly... You just got a new subscriber!

The scariest thing about being alone for a long periods of time is that eventually, you won't be alone.

Damn, reminds me of Fallout’s Vault 77. One man and a crate of puppets. This chick needs a crate of puppets so she will have a “Handful” of friends and alone no longer!

The only way the survivor of vault 77 survived besides having the puppets was that they didn’t exit the vault after two years of the nuke. Also because the Vault Tec vaults had an automatic door that only open after a set period of time or with overseer override controls.

Damn! The scariest storylines are those which could possibly happen. This definitely qualifies! (Minus the living dead things being impossible.) Great narration

Why would anyone want to survive after a total nuclear war? What kind of life is that? You can have my spot in the bunker. I am going to stand as close to ground zero.

@@whateveryoureckon420 There is going to be a whole lot of us. I am not prepping. I give away what I have too much of. I am divesting myself of love of things. I have one place to go when I die and He is giving me life until then. I just will not try to live in a world where such madness exists. God be with you.

"3 billion human lives ended on august 29, 1997. Survivors of the nuclear attacks called it judgement day. They lived only to face a new nightmare, the war against the machines. People lived like rats in the sewers. Sick, dirty, starved. Survivors either hid underground, or were exterminated and enslaved in skynets camps. We had to learn how to use weapons, how to scavenge for supplies. I guess you could say we adapted pretty quick."

    Fate...had called upon..HER...perhaps to allow humanitys..LAST moments, to not be..without mercy..and compassion.
In this particular story..humankind..has had its day..& run its course..but was NOW at its end.
That ONE split second..of refusing this..duty, which fate had charged HER with, was ALL it took for..fate, to make her final moments..BE exactly the same as it was for those whose.."passing on", HAD been her last meaningful act..a final contribution to her species, HAD been..to "ease." If she could not END "their" suffering.. then, their "suffering" WOULD be..HER end.

Ehh, I'm going to be honest, the writing style is a bit too try-hard for me... I would have appreciated some more details about the situation in the bunker, and outside, rather than the droning existential depression and loneliness. I get what they're going for, really getting you into the psychological state of the survivor, but I think more minutia, and details about the bunker itself could have gone a long way. That and the actual state of the war that took place... I mean, the recommended amount of time to shelter from heaviest fallout after a nuclear exchange is like 14 day, then after that it becomes safer to leave shelter for short amounts of time... The survivor probably would have benefitted from a little bit of nuclear education, most of the radioactive particles present in fallout from a nuclear attack would have a relatively short half-life, and would decay a tremendous amount in the first weeks to a month. I'm only like halfway through, but 512 days seems like a LONG time to wait to leave.
There is no way the radiation is still killing people just walking around with no suit after 512 days, not even at ground zero, just no way. It would be more believable if she came out and there were already survivors set up in tents and stuff trying to rebuild. It should still be terrible, but not people dying just from breathing the air. Nuclear winter, sure, but that will just make it dark and cold, not deadly in and of itself.
Wow, this gets super morbid at the end. Unfortunately, it's just not believable, nuclear war would be terrible but this is just... Too much.
I definitely see good writing here though, great storytelling, these are meant to be constructive criticism.

@@TheDarkCosmos1 From a storytelling perspective, I think it's very good, and the language used is fine.
I'm sort of a nuclear science/nuclear fiction nerd, so I am likely being too picky.
      I'll definitely listen to more.

After a few weeks much of the radiation will be gone. But Cesium 137 and Strontium 90 will still be around, especially in the soil and the water, but I'd want to be in a suit as long as possible. You may want to wait longer if you want to make sure that society settles down. Or you may want to get out as soon as possible because the opposite might happen as survivors and what is left of gov't and military might come together.
