Thank you Tara, your advice is very helpful and the way you deliver these insights is very entertaining and your levity eases the struggles I confront every day as I attempt to 'transform my greatest weakness into my greatest strength'. I have big problems with structure, transitions and getting my thoughts out clearly. HOWEVER, I will persist and write a paragraph each day about my process and hopefully I will be able to craft a practice that makes my writing a pleasant experience rather than a form of penance.

Thank you very much for this vlog and for your awesome channel. I was looking for some advice to improve in writing fluidity and efficiency. I've been writing hundreds of pages to draft just one chapter, and find it really hard to develop my argument clearly. Getting back and forth between drafting and revising my thesis outline, things are progressively getting clearer and I am beginning to enjoy the writing process, but I still feel that my approach is way too time-consuming, regardless of how much time I dedicate to reading, writing and editing my draft every day. I have been told that I am too much of a perfectionist and I've tried to take this feedback into account, but I feel that I don't own my ideas until I have scrutinized each and every detail of a given topic; so either I'm really sketchy trying to get faster, and dry up; or I'm getting into too much detail trying to produce qualitative work in a way that suits me better, but that way I often get lost or end up feeling overwhelmed. I know you are super busy; yet if you ever get an opportunity to talk about this sort of issue concerning (overly) detail-oriented thinking styles, that would be amazing.

Thanks Tara for these pearls of wisdom! Qn: How much can one strech a citation? If one writes many sentences (own ideas), won't an examiner ask for citations? It seems quite challenging to put one's ideas across in PhD thesis writing while balancing the need to cite every idea. What's your opinion about this?
