Personally proud that our U23 men made the Olympics and through the group stage. This needs to happen consistently for the senior men's team to take the next level. Right now they should not be having issues beating Trinidad and Tobago.
If Swanson and Macario were healthy, i doubt Morgan and Rapino would have made the WC roster last year.
    Just my 2 cents.

  • @ZingaroXIV
    @ZingaroXIV 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

The USWNT results at the Olympics somewhat exceeded my expectations. No question the team made a quantum leap with the new coach and with the updated roster from the World Cup. But to keep things in perspective - and I think Emma Hayes would agree - this was just one big milestone. The Olympic tournament rules were not favorable to anyone playing their best football. And the qualification rules kept top teams such as England, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, even Argentina out of the tournament. They will all (likely) qualify for the World Cup, bringing a whole new set of challenges and challengers.

Korbin got a lot of love, especially on the game winning goal in the group stage vs Australia, and her through ball was a good one for sure, but Mal still had some work to do to score. Listen, we get it, korbin albert STANS will do everything in their power to try and prop her up when its not necessary to do so. People can see her quality, and she has a bright future, but if you're expecting fans to just get over what she did, yet her STANS refused to get over themselves during the last WWC with regards to Rapinoe and others on that team and actually goping that team would lose, then youre a hypocrite and deserved to be ignored. Let’s be honest- Carlie Lloyd has talked on the edges of what the WC 2023 political BS was the problem and the Rapoine agenda had poisoned the locker room. I am glad that Morgan got left off and it was huge in the spirit of group and allowed the players to play with freedom and confidence and just focus on the futbol. Albert played great, Smith looked like a new player who had been rereleased into futbol . I hope the political garbage is over and that the players are only playing for each other and the country. Great to have futbol back as the primary focus for he USWNT ! The are free to just focus on futbol and not trying to change the world!!!

Ya know , I just can’t agree that it’s always the coaches fault that we didn’t do well at the 2023 WC ; What Carli Lloyd said was not the reason we had a poor showing; We had 6-7 starters not bench warmers not playing at the WC ; want me to name at least 6 starters?? Here they are Julie Ertz , Sam Mewis , Mallory Swanson , Abby Dahlkemper , Tierna Davidson , Tobin Heath , Christin Press and the one and only Brazilian was all hurt : Kelly o Hara I think could play but she was recovering; we lost after we nearly took it to the Swedes ; the girls lost it not the coach with 3 penalty kicks. Up until that game we didn’t play well but we did play well there , well enough to win another WC. And the Swedes did point that out. All we had to do is put one shot in the goal and we’d go on ; It did take the old coach that many games to see who’d fit with one another cause we were missing many Startes

I appreciate what the previous generation of players like Lloyd, Solo, Morgan, Press, Heath etc did for for the USWNT. But I very much look forward to what this current generation will accomplish. The USMNT has 2-3 players at most who could be considered top tier internationals. (NOT yet "elite" or "superstars"). Top tier would be players who start for their club teams or at least get significant sub minutes and have a positive impact. Mid-tier would be players who are mainly subs, not a ton of burn for their club teams, but do well enough for their teams when they get time on the pitch. Bottom tier would be bench warmers/practice players who see little if any burn. Measure the US team by these arbitrary categories and you get the idea of the team quality any new coach will have to work with. And this is not to say the club teams are or should be EPL or LaLiga or Serie A teams. Playing regularly and well with a lower league team gives something to measure.

    Exactly (Tyler Adams).
Players sometimes or maybe most of the time they don't know what's a good coach.
They're young people without experience in life yet.
So, it's no shock that one of the USMNT players came to his senses after realizing they were skipping soccer classes and soccer results under Berhalter.
The Results are the only metric you judge coaches by, and you judge coaches first then players. You have to give the coach a chance (at least 1 full year) and let him do his job.
You will judge the quality of his work later, at the end of the tournament.
The media should report on things that have to do with the Coach not showing up or the players not respecting the Authority of the Coach, all to benefit the team.
The coach is the Pop of the Team's children, you let the coach play that role to form the group.
like in any relationship, Soccer Players will Form the team if the Coach guides them and the team will be more successful than not if the Coach does a good job forming the Group.
Emma did an excellent Job forming the USWNT Players Group/Team.
Then they is a time for Storming, which mean the end of that individual player or the end of the generation.
I don't think the media was reporting on Berhalters failures, and some players learned the value of talking up to benefit from his forgiveness. We failed at Copa America because the USMNT did not prepare well enough.

There is a Stat related to this point about Spain.
No Women's World Cup Champion has ever won the Gold Medal at the Olympics, and there is a common sense reason for that.
Unlike the Men's World Cup which is scheduled 2 years after the Olympics, the Women's World Cup is scheduled 1 year after the World Cup.
I think that's the reason why Spain fell to Brazil and couldn't even make it to the final.
The World Cup Champion needs more than 1 year to transition, to become 100% ready for the Olympics.
The USWNT could break that record if they win World Cup 2027, but do the preparations for LA 2028 Olympics at the same time, meaning START NOW.
You can prepare for the World Cup and the Olympics in some area such as selecting a larger Roster for the INTL Friendlies to give the Coaching Staff a concrete understanding of a Larger High Quality Poole of Players. You can be from this September preparing two USWNT teams, one of the two has Young Players (Korbin's age) and that becomes the USWNT Program, you always have 46 Top notch players preparing instead of 23 (or what ever the number is.
It can be done, not easy at all but the US has the players and budget to do it.
That's how you will be back to total domination status which is great for the current generation of players and the US FANs and the next generation of Players.
You would not be in a position where you fall victim to the Fatigue Factor.

Alyssa NAEHER is an all time great.
The Best Goalkeeper of the Paris 2024 Olympic.
Maybe the Best Goalkeeper in the World right now.
4 Shut outs, 3 of those games are Knockout Games.
Only 2 goals conceded, against some very tough National Teams and with a lots of Fatigue.
She has proved she the Best Female Goalkeeper in the US right now.
And she has the opportunity to be declared the best Women's Goalkeeper Ever,
inside the US and Worldwide - It's very possible.
Stats never lie, because they're snapshots from the Athletes performance.
Example, you may have seen some great goalkeepers out there, that impressed you a whole lot..
but when you took a look at their stats, maybe conceded the highest number of goals, you then asked yourself, where is that goalkeeper I just saw, in these stats.
Stats will always match the reality better than what you think.
It's always better to go back to the players stats after you watch them to tune your observations to reality.
Example, we don't see the offside, but when we review the VAR we see the offside, or we see a Penalty but when we review the VAR there is no penalty. It's the same thing.
The difference between Lexi-coding intelligence and opti-coding intelligence.
The Optical Thinking is more emotional, we sort of lie to ourselves to see that didn't actually happen.
The Optical Illusion phenomenon is part of that whole thing people do to form an incorrect opinion.
The real USWNT team that won the Paris 2024 Olympic Gold medal, is the one you see now in the Stats.
The other team that people thought they saw in the 1st half of the final, is an optical illusion, in the overall scope of things.

Palmer and Kane loved him. Lalas is deluded. He conflates the USMNT with the US as a superpower. Because the US is the world's richest country it should be the best at soccer. That is not how sport works. The US does not produce world-class players. Poch may not be the right guy, given the talent pool.

There is a Psychological Formula that says:
If you feel comfortable in Failure, it's because you're Lazy.
Gregg Berhalter allowed the USMNT player to get lazy, which is why they were defending him by saying "WE LIKE THE COACH". Kinda like when the Nanny let's the kids eat too many sweets while you're at work, the kids will insist that she's the best nanny ever.
That's when yo have to ask why is that little Johnny have toothaches the laundry wasn't done their rooms are not clean, she didn't make them dinner but the kids insist that she's a nice and good nanny the best ever!!?
