DnJ's Jason Momoa and original Director Corin Hardy both dropped out due to financial difficulties, so Bill Skarsgard and Rupert Sanders came on. Honestly though I think Rupert Sanders really knows what he's doing he obviously acknowledged the 94 film and Brandon Lee's death in an interview saying "it was obviously a terrible tragedy I hope he's proud of what we've done, his presence was very much felt on set and his soul is very much alive in this movie" as far as how its going to compare to the original Sanders said the following “‘The Crow’ is the original anti-superhero,” Sanders said in a newly released statement. “His story is about tragic loss, about dealing with the pain of everything that comes with losing someone you love, something that all of us have or will encounter at some point in our lives. It is about the dark shadow of grief, about what we would do when something so meaningful is taken from us.” He also added “The original graphic novel is deeply meaningful for so many, and the character, his journey and his need for revenge has inspired a canon of films for the last three decades. Our version goes back to that graphic novel by James O’Barr, who I had the honor of meeting shortly before production, and explores the love story as the primary drive for our film.” the minute I saw this comment from him my skepticism went out the window and I was like SOLD! they also have a a very very solid screen writer writing it Zach Baylin who did movies like Creed III, Grand Turismo, and King Richard. So when I heard he was doing it I got very excited, they very easily could have just gonw with something that they pulled out of their asses but they didn't. There taking it very seriously it really sounds like Sanders wants to do it right I really think Brandon Lee would be proud of what they've put together I haven't been this excited for a comic book movie in awhile, rebooting it now will gain people's interest and will hopefully restore faith in the brand I really haters that are hating on it now are gonna be eating their words when this movie comes out.
Wow! I didn't realize Jason Mamoa AND the original Director dropped out. And for financial reasons you say. I wonder if the pandemic had something to do with that.🤔 Well as much as we were excited for that film, I have a little more faith in this movie now after reading this. The Director seems like he understands the project and the love fans have for the original comic and movie. Thanks for the info!
This one seems to be more true to the Eric Draven comic storyline. There are other storylines with other Crows. I love the original, but I think I can keep from comparing when I see it

The graphic novel is perfection. This is a modern re-adaptation of the graphic novel. 94 movie was great and great music. Even that movie changed a bit from the graphic novel.

Sorry, but original hands down perfection from music, to fights and story. Pennywise meets jocker and peso pluma. I wouldn't watch it
