    I’m a coffs local and absolutely love your videos. On your last tailor video I went there and caught my pb tailor 44cm and was using the 40g Halco twistie with a treble. I love all your other videos, especially the jack ones. I wish too meet you out there one weekend

      Congrats on your pb mate, I'm sure I'll bump into you out there sometime, I work weekends so tend to fish more through the week.

      Ok. Love your videos. If you ever want to get a tuna there is always one bluefin lurking around the Little Rock island on north wall.

      Yeah can be good on its day, nice easy spot for a quick arvo session after work. 56cms is a good sizes tailor for around here.

    Single hooks are definitely the way to go IMO. Better for the fish and the angler. I still have lures with trebles but most have
    been swapped out for singles. I might sort a few more to singles today. It's blowing a gale here in WA so a prime day for some tackle prep

    Great to see the single hook working for you mate good little session on the tailor 👍

      Cheers mate, I had a flick using singles again the other afternoon and the tailor where thick. Hooked 23 and dropped 9 of them near the rocks when about to lift them. So still dropping a lot, but seems to be the smaller fish that manage to self-release, most larger fish stay on.

    Hey mate I’m a coffs local but honesty only about a year into fishing I’ve caught some tailor and salmon and a few other things but I still so struggle to get fish considering how many times I go fishing I reckon maybe it’s the spots I’m going to my local ones being sawtell headland

    • @LoveYakken
      @LoveYakken  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate, keep at it, if fishing Sawtell headland or any headland really your best bet is always early morning or late afternoon. Mix it up too, don't just throw one style/size/colour of lure and think there is nothing there, sometimes they won't grab a hard body lure but will smash a soft plastic or metal slug or vice versa, good luck 🤞

    another fruitful session bro...i would have been tempted to live bait one of those guys there for either tuna or macks or that 1mtr jew your looking for mate especially on that platform ;) you never quite know what will show up there, one of my favourite local platforms . always appreciate your vids mate bring on the 1k subs

    • @LoveYakken

      Cheers mate, yeah your right, I should of had a livie out. I think every time I have a spin for tailor that I should have taken my live bait gear with me. I did bounce a few large soft plastics around just before dark hoping for a jew but no luck.

    • @ozzierobbo
      @ozzierobbo 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      well worth a shot there on dark with a big plastic for that big jew mate lol but big plastics get expensive when those tailor are about they always destroy my big jew plastics hence why i send them back out with replacement revenge lol

    Hi mate what size rod you using for spinning off the rocks cheers greg

    • @LoveYakken
      @LoveYakken  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Greg, the rod is a Penn Allegiance, 12 foot, 8 to 12kg, medium/heavy spin. It's over kill for the small tailor in this vid but bought it as an all-rounder to also throw big heavier weighted soft plastics as well for jews. It can still cast a 40g metal slug a mile though spinning for tailor, which surprised me. Plenty of beef down low in the rod which helps lifting heavier fish up the rocks, not expensive but like all Penn gear is built solid and lasts a lifetime. Thanks for watching Greg, hope this helps.

    What size single did you use?

    • @LoveYakken
      @LoveYakken  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yeah sorry mate, this vid is about 7 months old, just had a look through my tackle box to see if I had any left to give you the size but none left, and my brain can't remember. They were only fairly small, not much bigger than what the trebles were, but do remember thinking next time I'll go larger and also have 2 split rings joined together then the hook to space the hook back a bit more from the slug......if that makes sense.

    what size is the rod your using

    • @LoveYakken
      @LoveYakken  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey mate, the rods a Penn Allegiance 3, 12 foot, 8-12kg medium heavy spin. I was worried it might be a bit too stiff to flick metal slugs but can throw a 40g slug no probs. Great strongly built rod, last a lifetime, like most penn gear
