Wind Waker meant a lot to me as a kid. I remember coming home everyday to play this game. Good memories..
Windwaker was the first Zelda I played through. I had OoT on the N64 but as a kid, I was too scared of that damn spiders in the friggin Deku-Tree. God.

That sad part of "legendary hero" comes on and you realize.. despite all the cuteness of wind waker, it's the darkest timeline. Hyrule fell below the sea...
It's also my favourite Ganondorf, more of a melancholic old man who doesn't really hold grudges and just wants back what he accidentally lead to the destruction of.
But it's still one of the most optimistic stories about the future finding a way to change for the better after disaster

Listening to this gives me sadness were days when I played happily without worrying about anything while enjoying those adventures, now I can not play without feeling worried about things that happen now.

Wind Waker is one of those games that no matter how many times I beat it, the credits start rolling and I'm like "Oh OK time to play it all over again"

Imagine it, being able to sail as far as the eye can see, discovering new islands, fighting pirates, sailing storms, and lastly feeling the whoosh of wind as it buzzes your hair while looking at the deep blue sea. The waves move up and down as your ship creaks. One can only imagine the beauty of the deep blue sea. Wind waker opened my eyes to how amazing being a pirate or sailor could be.

The first time I read this was a few months ago when I put my dog down that I knew ever since I was born. I was listening to this in the shower in the dark: I read this and I just couldn't stop sobbing. Brought me back to childhood when I was such a sweet child. It was like losing your grandma who was also your best friend... I'm bettet now, but thank you for writing this. Made me so happy and brought back a lot of amazing memories.

You should really try playing a game called Sea of Theives. Its not perfect, but a pretty good pirate sim and sailing feels PHENOMENAL

The First Zelda game that I played is ocarina of time. But breath of the wild and windwaker gave me chills

almost started crying during Legendary Hero. Every time I hear the music and I'm staring at Link's back, I'm 8 years old again, rediscovering the wonder and mystery of WW and LoZ
It’s a wonder what one childhood game can do to you. I remember first getting a GameCube in 2004 or so, and out of all the games I could’ve gotten first, this was my first. My first Zelda game, and my first proper adventure game, I’d argue. This was my first game that had a genuine story, a world to explore, characters you genuinely cared about, and so much more. I’d spend hours in front of the TV just trying to figure out that next puzzle or trying to figure out how to get the goodies on the next island. It was an amazing experience back when I was four or five and it’s still amazing almost twenty years later. The atmosphere when you’re just sailing along and all of a sudden a storm rolls in and it starts to rain, the calm night sky over your head with the moon shining up above, the waves crashing back and forth, and the wind blowing just feels amazing. The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker still remains my favorite game of all time. Thank you to everyone who composed these tracks for making my childhood come to life all over again.

I grew up playing the GNC version on the Wii when i was about 4, and playing it when it came out on the Wii U when I was 9. If you (OP) was 4 or 5 in 2004, my birth year, we're about half a decade apart, and, despite that half a decade difference, we still enjoy the same game the most. Wind Waker will always be my most favorite game ever (although it is tied with Majora's mask)
Windwaker is hands down one of my favorite games of all time too. I remember going to the Walmart in my little hometown and playing the demo version over and over.
My parents could tell I really enjoyed the game so they got the bundle for my sister and I as a joint birthday gift (our bithdays are a month and a half apart) and it was one of the things we loved to do together- take turns playing games.
Our copy of Windwaker came with our Gamecube as a bundle that included a disc with Ocarina of Time and Ocarina of Time Master version ( I don't remember what the master version was called).
I've played through Windwaker to the end multiple times. I'm thankful I still have the same copy of Windwaker, my son and I play it together often. I still have Twilight Princess and a SNES with Link to the Past, but he likes Windwaker more, and I get that same feeling as I did playing together with my sister as I do when he and I play. Man, he's almost as old as I was when the game came out. I was 12, he is 9. Time flies but the enjoyment doesn't fade with this game, it's timeless. One of the greatest of greats.

I absolutely love this!!! This game released when I was a senior in high school and I bought the Gamecube, wind waker, and a power converter for my van. I would play wind waker at the park in my van by myself and it was...therapeutic lol relaxing, soothing even, I'll always remember those times.

Out of all the zelda games i've played, this is the most nostalgic to me. It's still one of my favorites to this day and i love it.
This art is phenomenal. I don’t know if Windwaker or Breath of the Wild is my favorite Zelda game, but Windwaker is definitely more special to me. This music is awesome, this game is awesome, this art is awesome, and this video is awesome.
Even though the Wind Waker never gave me the same Zelda vibes as OOT and MM, it is without doubt one of the coolest games ever made for so many reasons. The cute and warm graphics, the wide open ocean and tiny islands.. Amazing.

Wind Waker has one of the best soundtracks in a video game. Forget that, it has one of the best soundtracks EVER. The music cleanses all the stress, depression, anger, and sadness from anyone who listens to it. I absolutely love this arrangement. I listen to this in class, and it feels like the class is over in 5 minutes. This soundtrack helps me focus on my work in school, and is just makes me feel good when I listen to it. If I could only listen to one more song, it would be this.

95% of this is really well done. The dynamics and key touch are so good. However, when there are mistakes done by the pianist (and there are quite a few), it's really glaring and takes the listener right out.

@@evangelicalH I'm no musician either, but as a long time zelda fan I know these songs by heart and there are mishaps here and there that really stand out because you expect a certain note to follow the previous, but it does not happen the way you know it. I can't point out a specific one out but in the first song it happens a few times already and it does take you right out.

This is my 3rd favourite Zelda, and although the first time I didn't give it an opportunity for cautivating me, now I do not regret playing the game. It is really good and it is difficult to find videogames with better soundtracks. Lovely played on piano.

My first Zelda too. I didn't know anything about Zelda games and I bought a pre-owned WiiU just to play smash. In a USB included several games like DK, Pikmin and Windwaker. I wouldn't have bought these games but since the guy sold it out with all of that included I gave it a shot. Incredible. Completely changed my perspective of how I see videogames.
I got interested in Zelda games and played almost all of them from that point forward.

Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game. Most people hated how long it took to sail around but I loved the immense vastness of the Great Sea.
I wish there was a non-linear Breath of the Wild-style Zelda game that takes place in the Wind Waker universe.

It’s Exam week and I can not express how much this helped. This was the first game I ever truly played. It’s what set me on my path of loving video games so much, too hear it in this form, feels almost melancholy
35:32, I was 6 years old, playing the game with my dad, I was fighting ganon and pressed the last button... There was silence when you read the dialogue. Then this music started playing, I went and hugged my dad and I started crying. This song finished and I got chills from reading the king's dialogue. This game has the best and most emotianal ending in video game history. I get chills before and after the ganon fight every time. This game was so good, I miss the nostalgia so much. :(

I listen to this while I study, this term has been super stressful for me. The first outset island cover around 8 minutes literally pulled me out of the anxiety attack I was in, the music is so calming and nostalgic. I feel like I can breathe! Thank you.
Makes me happy to listen to this and remember myself as a child dreaming about traveling and having adventures while playing. Nowdays as an adult it makes me feel proud to know that I am good person thanks to the example and values that I learnt from Link on his games. If I ever have a kid, I'll make sure he goes through this games.
Wow, I'm really in love with the rendition of the Forest Haven theme. Sounds very dreamlike and ethereal. I could hear this being in the BotW soundtrack.

All these beloved memories... every day I walked from home then playing this game. The blue sky, the blue sea... it was sooooo amazing! I remember how my friends and me were sitting in the breaks between lessons at the playground and were reading magazines about news of the game... in the good old days with no world wide web 🥺😢🤩
Lovely playlist of one of the best games ever made. This game holds a special childhood memory, endless playing together with my brother. Almost 20 years later, my dear brother unexpectedly passed away, too young. And I miss him terribly. On my last birthday, he gave me the most wonderful gift, a Zelda the wind waker poster. The best and cutest gift and now it's hanging above my computer and every time I look at it, I smile and can't wait to meet him again on the other side and have some brave adventures together again

I remember playing this game when the GC had just come out. I couldn't get past the Forsaken Fortress so I just stopped playing for a few years lol
That difficulty spike was so extreme for a child! I remember struggling SO MUCH.
I had to do so too. I got so pissed off back then. It's almost funny now to see that, aparently, it's quite common.
Same. I couldn't get past the Forsaken Fortress too. That's why my cousin who is older than me helped me to pass it throught. We played together until we reached the dragon's island and when the music came out, my cousin told me he loved this song. At this time, I didn't realize how much I would love this music later.
Now it's my favorite Zelda's song.
What was the most hated zelda became one of the best in the series. Wind Waker was my first and will always be my favorite!
