@@Micaerys In some stories the first generation of sirens were originally nymphs who acted as handmaidens/playmates/attendants for the goddess Persephone. So when Hades kidnapped Persephone, her mother Demeter cursed the nymphs for letting Persephone wander off alone and not protecting her.

Best description by far. Seen too many people saying "he is just cool like that!" Nah, fam Hermes is like Bugs Bunny. He is either giving you a gun you can fire at your enemies or a stick of dynamite that will explode in your hand
My favorite Hermes story for why he is helping is multi-staged. He is Odyssey’s Great-Grandfather, he also use to date Circe. So in the end he got his great-grandson high on godly drugs to fuck with his ex.
2:25 I love the way Eurylochus's voice switches from being softer and more vulnerable when he tries to open up to Ody but the second he gets told to go search the island he snaps back to that strict military sounding voice.
Not only is Odysseus a descendent of Hermes, but Circe is also Hermes' ex. It's a 2 for 1 special. Hermes is a generally helpful trickster god and has a soft spot for his great grandson X3
Hermes is technically the God that always helps adventures. And another fun fact, I think it's stated in one story. That Odysseus is his great-grandson. Depending on the translation.
I love the head canon that when eurylocus say "come inside" and ody responds with Damm is because eury is making a pitch perfect recreation of circi's voice
Fun fact here- those “Oooohhh!”s in Wouldn’t You Like are from Odysseus. Jay releases the sagas/canon visuals in livestreams and they sometimes have descriptions for events. For Circe, after Odysseus ate the flower it said, “Odysseus begins to glow. POWER UP!” Him singing on that level is showing the moly taking effect. And the background music changing when he’s about to give in? It’s Penelope’s theme. He thought of her, and pushed away. (Also, Circe is a minor god. The daughter of a sun god and a sea nymph. That’s why she has the fins and sun pendants). There’s so much
If I remember correctly, Hermes told Odysseus that he had to sleep with Circe, but my memory is a bit foggy so not too sure. I do remember for sure Circe asked Ody to sleep with her in exchange for freeing his men and Ody did. Circe catches feelings for him, but when Ody does not return her feelings she assists him by providing him supplies, directions, and advice on how to get home. I like how the musical handled this; it delivered the same results without Ody being forced to bed with a woman he does not love. And it's satisfying having the hero say no to a tempting woman and stay faithful to his wife.
to be fair, I think even if he had slept with her it's not really a case of unfaithfulness. It's a case of being coerced by someone with a greater amount of power than him. Still, I do like how the musical handled it. Him managing to sadboy his way out of it.

So, we started with 600 men, and lost a dozen or two from the cyclops, and then Poseidon left Odysseus with 43 men, the men left in Odysseus’ ship. 27:20 to be fair, she was ready to compromise only after being beaten qnd Ody having opportunity to be vulnerable even in position of "power". Before she was fully thinking herself right, and with goddess/mortal power difference she won't even think about humouring Odysseus
i love how Hermes just having fun time and Oddy like 😑 i like how Hermes can easily lift and throw Oddy around like a rag doll as he dances with him, to show even though he's not that big in size he is still way more powerful than any mortal man twice his size
So by the end of the Circe saga Odysseus has 42 men left under his command. It was 43 but… Elpenor got a little to tipsy from drinking too much wine and fell of Circe’s palace roof.
Basically: go to Underworld because Poseidon can't get you there (it's the domain of Hades), also meet prophet who can give you info on how to get home
Jorge established rules for the songs. Each song sung by the characters in the story has to be diegetic - in-universe - as with the guitars for Odysseus and the crew for Eurylochus. But the Olympians are the exception. Because they are gods who influence and shape the world around them, they are exempt from this rule. They can make the music on their own and introduce their own theme and instruments. Listen to Athena's theme and Poseidon, as examples, because they make their own music out of nowhere.

I am totally binging this series (as you can tell from my comments), and I just wanted to say thank you for making content because I’m enjoying it so much and you’ve just got such a great vibe.
Oh! And funnily enough Polities is barley in the original Odyssey. He is mentioned as being one of Odysseus closest friend, and his only role is urging them to go to Circe's palace. Hes also the one to encourage them to leave after a year.
13:13 Gun fact i think he has a little device that distorts voices in various ways live- that’s how he made the Polythemus voice- so it’s probably that thing, Troy (Hermes actor) or Jorge and maybe Talya, Tegan or another female actor in the back with him
on that note about Polities in the Odyssey he did live longer. he dies either during or shortly after the encounter with Circe. of course. the confrontation with Posiden doesn't happen so directly in the Odyssey either. so by this point not so many losses have been suffered. of course in the end. the number of people who make it home is the same in both versions.
22:00 This creature is a chimera, heads of a lion and goat, and the tail is a snake head, the Creature you were thinking off would be a manticore which has a few depictions, one being the head and body of a lion with a scorpion tail, though the truly classical depiction of a manticore is the head of a man, the body of a lion with a scorpion and or dragons tail.

So I just looked it up and circe is the daughter of Helios the sun, God, and Perse, an ocean nymph. Which would explain why in her other non-human form she had a fish like years.
Circe's first assumption on Odysseus' men arriving on the island is that if these men came here, they came here for a reason. And if so, then they're a threat that she has to strike at FIRST.
Yay! Please, please, please do the Falperui05 - Underworld animatic! It's super good and has a super heartwarming moment that I think you would really enjoy!
Heartwarming, but breaking at the same time. I remember first watching it the first time. I really hope he watches it, but a lot of people are recommending others.
to be fair, Hermes is just like that, he pops up and helps or tricks some of the other gods. also, Circe is queen of a few nymphs, she's also the daughter of a nymph and THE SUN! better known as Helios.
Fun fact: if you hear a chorus of people background singing behind a god that’s just the power of said god allowing him to have magical nonexistent back up singers, and if you hear background singers for a human that’s usually the rest of the crew or group of people they are with
circe is queen of nymphs, sorta siren adjacent. Moly is the "root" of most of circe's powers and the special thing with moly is if its harvested by a mortal, they die. That was in fact Chimera.
I think of Polites every day too. Also, happy birthday! You have Underworld, Thunder and Wisdom saga left and Vengeance Saga comes out Halloween Jay will live stream it and that always features partial animatics from amazing artists that work with Jay for the visuals!

i will say this when you watch "no longer you" the animations tend to confuse what the prophet is referencing. Everything in that song is what is to come on odysseus' journey so he's telling strictly the future, despite him repeating he sees past and future, he's only telling oddy his future.

His face upon seeing the men change to pigs 5:12 Priceless.
For the next saga, I highly recommend Falperio05’s Underworld (very under appreciated, but so good)
No Longer You- Ximena Natzel
Monster- Gigi
Small fact: polites was actually alive when they went to circes island in the odyssey, he just died at a later date
Don't apologize for enjoying others enjoyment in what they love!!!! That's what gets all the fans so hyped!!!!!!
These are some recommendations for The Underworld saga:
The Underworld- falperio05 (lesser known, but very good and detailed)
No Longer You- Ximena Natzel
Monster- Gigi
Also, happy early birthday! 🎂
I LOVE that underworld video!! So unknown but so good, esp the little details

There’s a head canon that the reason that Ody said damn was because Ury was the one who said “come inside” 😭😭😭😭😭 4:06
“I know those feet” got such a laugh out of me. Honestly, you’ve been making me laugh so hard with these reactions. I am totally binging this series (as you can tell from my comments), and I just wanted to say thank you for making content because I’m enjoying it so much and you’ve just got such a great vibe.
Fun fact! Hermes is Odysseus' grandfather(maybe great-grandpa?), he also just likes poking at things for fun/to see what happens
Next saga (underworld)is kinda short. Can’t wait to see thunder ( and you should be able to react to vengeance like a week after it comes out)
Can't forget about wisdom after thunder too
@@SunsetScepter one step at a time
0:16 Only like 6 people died. Most people were on the boats that was why they had to stop the Cyclops immediately so he couldn't kill the rest
Oh! And funnily enough Polities is barley in the original Odyssey. He is mentioned as being one of Odysseus closest friend, and his only role is urging them to go to Circe's palace. Hes also the one to encourage them to leave after a year.
19:12 Circe a minor goddess (nymph) As I recall, her mather has to do with water. Her father is helios, The sun god
21:45 😂 It IS a Chimera
Ikr!
my personal favourites for the underworld saga:
the underworld - ShiQing47
no longer you - Ximena Natzel
monster - gigi
lovely video, and happy birthday!
OMG I wish to see your reaction on shorts “Hermes and Jay” they’re amazing, I love Hermes va sm
Hermes is my favorite, the singer really incarnated him! ❤
Circe is a water nymph i think, just to clarify. The siren part…..
little infos for you from a french epic fan and yours too btw: Hermes is Ody great grandfather AND Circe's ex , which is why he was here. LOVE HIM HAHAHA
btw love your content ! love from france ,
I don't know if you've seen since it would've been spoilers for future sagas, but to your comment about how Jorge interacts with his fans and the community- every time a new saga drops, he does a live stream on his youtube channel to premiere it and it include short snippets of animation/animatics that he's commissioned from fans, including some of the ones you've seen like Gigi (btw I think it's pronounced jee-jee?), Anni and Mircsy. He really is so involved
I haven't said this before. But when I first listened to this show I wanted to see your reaction to it and this has not disappointed. I enjoy your reactions so much. thanks!
AHHH
2 WEEKS UNTIL THE VENGEANCE SAGA RELEASES!!!
Guys, sadly I don’t think 💀he is catching up 😔
*before it releases
First of all happy almost birthday
Second the name you were trying to say is polities one saying his name you think of polite that's how I try to remember it anyway 😅
Third I don't think you're ready for how emotional the underworld saga will be plus the other two QuQ so good luck ❤
Im pretty sure Nymphs are mainly Water Spirits so it makes sense why she has the fins.
22:10 Also I think the word youre looking for is Manticore
I have some recommendations for the next saga animatics cause i think they’re the best for a reactor
The Underword - TheeArteest
No Longer You - Ximena Natzel
Monster - Gigi
As something to keep in mind without much information, the souls of the underworld only speak as the last thing they thought before death. If you get this then it will be more an experience. Love your reactions, keep up the good work.
You'd pronounce Polites more like Paul-it-ease
So I just looked it up and circe is the daughter of Helios the sun, God, and Perse, an ocean nymph. Which would explain why in her other non-human form she had a fish like years.
Circe's first assumption on Odysseus' men arriving on the island is that if these men came here, they came here for a reason. And if so, then they're a threat that she has to strike at FIRST.
Happy early birthday! 🎂
Yay! Please, please, please do the Falperui05 - Underworld animatic! It's super good and has a super heartwarming moment that I think you would really enjoy!
Heartwarming, but breaking at the same time. I remember first watching it the first time. I really hope he watches it, but a lot of people are recommending others.
@@icemagiciangh Yeah, but we can hope! 🤞🏻
"At what cost?"
Hermes is Odys great grandfather.😊 Great Gramps is just looking out for his bloodline.
to be fair, Hermes is just like that, he pops up and helps or tricks some of the other gods.
also, Circe is queen of a few nymphs, she's also the daughter of a nymph and THE SUN! better known as Helios.
The word youre looking for is Manticore thats the "Chimera" lol she is a Nymph though. Happy early birthday, hope it's a fantastic day :P
Is this a Mortius viewer I see?
@@icemagiciangh I've watched a few Mortius videos years ago. Haven't really kept up with them in while, why do you ask? Lol
@@gsnaps0314 Mortius got Manticore and Chimera (that’s what Circe summons) mixed up, and now it’s a running joke for him
@icemagiciangh ahhhh i see lol Matt was looking for the word for the creature with the head of a lion so I was helping him with the word 😂
Not including Odysseus, there are exactly 42 men left
Well there's 42 left *now*. He got to the island with 43

Poor Elpenor, he got drunk and fell to his 💀. "Oh noooo if it isn't the consequences of my own actions!!!!"
Fun fact: if you hear a chorus of people background singing behind a god that’s just the power of said god allowing him to have magical nonexistent back up singers, and if you hear background singers for a human that’s usually the rest of the crew or group of people they are with
"I know those feet" -Matt, 2024
My recommendation for the Underworld Saga is:
Falperio05 for The Underworld
Ximena Natzel for No Longer You
Gigi for Monster
Yoo! Another Falperio suggestion. Not enough people have seen theirs.
LOVE Falperio05!!
'She can all but make you fall in love like youre on your hunderth date' is only funnier seeing that they are dating now and met trough epic😂
Fun Fact: Jorge has gone on record saying that Troy (Hermes VA/Singer) is just Hermes in disguise and busted down his door for this part. 😂
circe is queen of nymphs, sorta siren adjacent. Moly is the "root" of most of circe's powers and the special thing with moly is if its harvested by a mortal, they die. That was in fact Chimera.
Hermes is safe Odysseus is also his great grandson which is cool
I think of Polites every day too. Also, happy birthday!
You have Underworld, Thunder and Wisdom saga left and Vengeance Saga comes out Halloween
Jay will live stream it and that always features partial animatics from amazing artists that work with Jay for the visuals!
Funfact! Hermes in mythology is one of the few gods that help heroes without cost. On top of that he is Odysseus's great grandpa
Also there's 43 men left he lost 557 total before this saga
I find it funny you ask so many questions and if you just watch to the end they usually get answered. It's hilarious 🤣
I have a cousin named Jorge and as a 4/5 year old i couldnt remember how his name was pronounced correctly and i called him well *hay-hor*, so id be running around calling out to him all like *hay-hor*
i will say this when you watch "no longer you" the animations tend to confuse what the prophet is referencing. Everything in that song is what is to come on odysseus' journey so he's telling strictly the future, despite him repeating he sees past and future, he's only telling oddy his future.
I personally enjoy Gigis There Are Other Ways more but I guess Aniflammas is just much more *direct*
Real… gigi’s feels more fitting for circe imo
