"Each word is a symphony." Beautifully put! Elvis was at once a tenor, baritone and bass, all rolled into one. ❤ Add to that the looks, talent, charisma, humility and sense of humour ... and it sure looks like God was showing off when he made Elvis! 😉🥰
The hottest guy in the universe. It's so good I get teared up. It's an easy triple banger imo. The way he moves around them women is almost like a male stripper. Another great reaction.
YOU NAILED IT SEPH, It was symphony alright. PRONUNCIATION & BARITONE on ANOTHER LEVEL. Elvis had a CAVERNOUS BARITONE & VIBRATO and he used it to CHILLING effect here. He also mixes in his GRAVEL TONE, which is a blues thing. Elvis had a naaaasty DIRTY BLUES cry. Comes out in IF I CAN DREAM and all over this concert. It made him capable of overpowering even entire GROUPS on stage such as the Beatles or Simon & Garfunkel or Righteous Bros. Presley was freikin' uniquely and unequally gifted and talented. The Memphis Flash was literally Born to Rock.
There were so many layers to Elvis, that is why no one can come close yo him. He was almost a freak of nature. Love your reaction, seeing Elvis live is the best thing on earth. Thanks
Well spotted about his voice. Elvis was a pitch perfect baritone and could sing across 3 octaves. He always used his voice like an instrument, bringing in variations at any moment. Pavarotti once said “ Elvis could sing Opera if he wanted, but I could never sing like Elvis”🕺👌💕
Elvis was the greatest magnetic performer of all time! He delivers this song in awesome style & no-one will ever rise above him! Seph you're perceptions are great!!
Elvis was so nervous that when the audience was assembled Elvis told the producer, Steve Binder, he just couldn’t do it and wasn’t going on. Binder had to convince him to get out there. Thank you, Steve Binder.
When this was released in 1958, it shot to No 1 in America for 7 weeks and the UK for 3 weeks. It went Platinum in the UK and Double Platinum in The USA. It was Elvis’s 5th best selling single. 🕺👌💕
The electricity on that stage is tangible through the video! This is Elvis at his best, just being himself and making his fans happy! He oozes charisma and magnetism! WOW! ⚡🔥 love your reaction too.
Seph you’re right! He said he loves live performances because of the electricity he gets from the audience and the other musicians! You can sure see it and feel it! Love the Elvis ending too!
Love ur reaction to this tape how can one person b so talented and georgous there will never b another one but l sure wish there was u have urself a great day
You mention that his power and intensity is greater in these live performances, I think that is because he feeds off the energy and support of his fans.
He came alive on stage! He loved having a live audience, they fed his soul! And they could feel his love for them, so I’ve heard!! This audience was so lucky!
Absolutely we could feel his love. I believe he connected to every single person in his audiences. You definitely felt he saw you and sent love vibes out. Incredible!!!❤❤❤
@@jennyjorgensen9935 how wonderful to be on the receiving end of his gaze👌💕People said when they met him, be they celebrity or young child, taxi driver or great musician, he always made them feel he was only interested in them at that moment. 👌💕🕺
You need to listen to the original again. It's a masterpiece. He sings it perfectly - he belts it beautifully. This is also a tremendous vocal performance.
For Me -- Elvis was FANTASTIC Period all the way up to 1977!!!! I just cannot exclude any of the years of his Career --- Just cannot --- but I do love your words very very beautiful -----
Septh! You finally made it through the Elvis movies. Welcome to the return of the King. He went on a great ride from '69 to '77. You will hear great songs that were amazing. Enjoy the ride you've earned it.
The best part of this amazing show is after the opening number, he stalks to that (what is it, 8x8') boxing ring and presents himself like a conqueror and there was no doubt he owned the look, the crowd, the venue and to think he was nervous as hell. Before he started singing he just prowled that tiny boxing ring holding himself open for all to marvel. You can see his nerves, once he's singing and trying not to play with the mic wire and not to keep pulling at the suit. Elvis was an anomaly he was better live and in person than in the studio (and he was off the scale then too). His voice had matured here and how he found the confidence to just BE ELVIS is astounding. Nobody else can do this, even today. Long live the King ❤ Man was a walking orgasm 🔥
How do those girls up front not faint. If he did the splits in front of me, I’d embarrass myself and jump him. 😂😂😂. Of course later in his concerts women did that. His sound is so raspy and raw. I agree. He tends to sing each word as if it’s a song in itself. Very observant Seph!‼️😮😮😊🎸🕺🏻🎤🌹🌹
He loved preforming live and dreaded studio sessions. Plus you'll notice the live cuts are about 25% faster tempo than the studio versions. He drew energy from the audience.
first time I seen that end move I wondered how he never broke his leg - I was about 12 and really fit (played a lot of football) and even then couldn't do that lol
Everyone has said all that could be said about this magnificent performance but I get mesmerised by an old bald headed guy in the crowd next to a mature woman in blue. If you look around the 31 second point plus he seems to be saying why he is here and what the hell is going on.😊😊
His daughter Lisa - Marie was born on 1. February 1968. Elvis was so happy and loved her so much. Side info about the audience here. The big girl with the blue suit and the thin one on her left, were two Elvis crazy sisters, that Elvis banned from his property, after they bullied the mother of Lisa- Marie, some month before.
OMG, Seph, your reactions to the ‘68 special are fantastic! Your descriptions are spot on and I know exactly what you mean even though I had not thought of that before! This is so much fun🥳🎉💜💜 You are bringing a whole new dimension and perspective to Elvis’ performance in this ‘68 special. Thank you Seph! ❤❤
The only other modern-day artist I can think of who can do what you described as Elvis doing with each individual word of the song would be Angelina Jordan. And Elvis has been a huge influence in her life and career. She's been labeled the "female Elvis" of today by many.
To me Elvis’s Prime I’m not a fan by any means but this is when he ditched the hip swinging, lame moves and just really became a true performer, not only that his vocals got hella good less mumbling, I’ll even argue that he got better as he aged. Was never impressed by Elvis’s early days tbh💯
Well, for a Michael fan, I respect your "sort of" complimentary comment. BTW, Michael got a lot of those early moves from Elvis and incorporated them into his choreographed performances. Watch the video "A Feeling in My Body" comparing Elvis and Michael. 😂❤
@@jennyjorgensen9935 that’s false MJ was never once inspired by MJ and you’re welcome I hope my comment didn’t get misconstrued in any sort of manner lol
He looked like a caged tiger, the way he was pacing around the stage. He was just on another level of greatness.

Triple banger performance
I agree. Live Elvis is a whole other level of awesomeness

Elvis was born for this. Imagine the loss to the world if he didnt believe in himself and stayed driving that truck.
EP was studying to be an electrician. But, agree....thank the Lord he was somehow compelled to never give up and pursue his dream to be a singer.
🤩😍🥰! When you see him you can't help but Fall In Love With Him!! ❤❤❤❤❤!

Magnificent ❤ I LOVE the young Elvis singing this, however, I also LOVE older Elvis too. It’s like two very special heart happiness feels ❤
🤩🤩🤩🤩
Elvis called that the 'Stripper' ending and he added it to some other songs too 😉😄

54 to 56 Elvis was the rose growing
56 to 60 elvis was the flower bouquet
68 to 71 elvis is the entire garden in all its splendor
The 60-62 Elvis is the suave Elvis

Sooooo good awesome 😍
Sings better live every time ❤
Dude, Elvis isn't the only one oozing sexiness here. Damn.
I do love a little Oozing 😂
His voice cracked at 3:14. He laughed about it.
It's likely his vibrato which was really fast and could sound like a harmony
Oh yes! Are you going to watch this whole dvd? It is over 7 hours!😁♥️🇫🇮
I love your comments about this one. Everything adds to my enjoyment and even, if possible, makes me love it more! Fantastic reaction to this one!❤❤❤

Yay double banger - who would have thought it x

YOU ARE CRAZY. The original recording is perfect. It's one of the greatest performances in the history of music.
This has "Something" that the original didn't. But that's just my opinion xD

Great reaction! You need to listen to Trying to Get to You from this concert! You missed it! You will love it!
Agree.
and priscilla is in the audience (4th row or so). but this performance is superb, really is.

It's a GREAT performance, but it's not better than the original which is arguably his greatest recording ever.
Meh.
