This was one hell of a storyline. I've been thinking of a getting a trade of Empyre, so this helps with learning the background. Also, since you said to leave any recommendations: 1. A video on the Inhumans (maybe Crystal or Maximus if you want to be specific) 2. Squirrel Girl 3. Arnim Zola 4. Morgan Le Fay
It's a pretty cool idea. The Celestials made Eternals and Deviants on multiple planets, but Skrullos is the world where the Deviants won and wiped out the other Skrulls.
I'm so happy to see someone mention the Dire Wraiths as part of the Marvel Universe and their connection to the Skrulls. I've been hoping that eventually, Marvel will buy back the publishing rights to ROM: SPACEKNIGHT and bring him into the MCU along with the Dire Wraiths, as well as THE MICRONAUTS in order to incorporate the 'Microverse' into the MCU instead of continuing to call it "the Quantum Realm."
These sort of long, interlocking histories between multiples staples of characters and corners of a vast universe is really something that comics can do better than any other medium. We've seen millions of years of these two races histories and how they intersect with dozen of our fan favorite character in large or small ways. If you were to knock backward from any character in the Marvel Universe, you would find the Kree Skrull war somewhere back up the proverbial tree
As a 'Bronze Age' baby, I have to say our artists/inkers/colorists/letterers were amazing! 50 years later, I'm still blown away by all these greats! Kirby, The Buscema's, BW Smith, Neal Adams, Milgrom/Sinnott, Byrne, it goes on and on. The MCU has enough stories for the next 50 years! Excelsior!
I'm a Silver Age kid myself but I remember all of those names especially Jack the King Kirby and Neal Adam's while I growing up Neal Adam's did some of the artwork for the Kree Skrull war.
Masterful!!! Having been a Marvel fan for over 50 years, I know all the details you have shared. I admire how skillfully you taken all the threads regarding the Kree and Skrulls and woven them into a fully comprehensible tapestry of fact and detail. MerryMarvelite, my respects and regards. Success in all you undertake
Excellent summary of events. I was an avid collector of the original Captain Mar-vel series and collected the entire Kree-Skrull war issues of The Avengers. Was really disappointed that the movie veered so far off the source material as it was really some of the most imaginative writing Marvel ever produced. And MCE really needs to do an alternate timeline series on the life of Rick Jones. The kid was an essential part of many Marvel storylines.
@@DIEGhostfishit screams Disney intervention. They turned the Skrulls into Quasimodo's and Beast's. And that's before we get into the secret invasion show.
This was one of my biggest complaints towards the Kree in the MCU. They are basically non-existent. No threat towards anyone. Ronan the Accuser was wasted, Wasn’t really threatening in Captain Marvel, and the Supreme Intelligence only being shown a few times. They just needed better substance, but they didn’t hit. I’m hoping by The Marvels they will get better, and apparently Carol gets wrapped up into a war between the two races. So, we’ll see.
The MCU is rubbish when compared to the REAL MCU (Marvel Comics Universe) This channel gives you the real goods...the real history. And look at Marvel now; a rotted shell of what it once was. A once great company run by no talent morons. RIP MARVEL \m/
I think this story will be adapt with the skrulls having their own series in Secret Invasion TV show and the kree probably appearing in Marvels. Since I heard som rumors that Secret Invasion will work as prologue to New Avengers, it's possible that Kree-Skrull War will be the event that bring the heroes of the new generation (ex: Sam Wilson, Carol, Jane Foster) together, to stop this war from destroying Earth .
This was a really good video. You told the story of a very complex series of events and races very well. I'm impressed with the reading and research done, and then the script written to distill all that down into something that's half an hour or so. Enjoy revisiting this story. Kudos!
Something I always wanted to see and still hoping it can hapoen: a massive space battle between Kree and Skrull fleet, similar to the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jefi with massive capital ships and fighters. There is so much potential in the MCU to have fleet battles.
Can you do history of the U-Foes, the Squadron Supreme, Doom Maidens, Young Avengers, Dark Avengers, Masters of Evil, the Thunderbolts, the Illuminati and the Champions?
I loved back in the day when Earth-712's Inhumans (via Power Princess) Skrulls (via Doctor Spectrum and Skymaster) and even Eternals (via Hyperion) where hinted at. I just wish those plot threads were pursued back then. I think Roy Thomas, Mark Gruenwald and the like would've made some interesting parallels and divergences between them and the "proper" ones of 616.
I hate how often the closed captioning confuses the words "Skrull/Skrulls" for "Scroll/Scrolls" in this video and most others that mention them. Can you imagine how tough it is for someone who actually _needs_ and depends on closed captions and the like that happens to be fans or wants to become a fan?! Don't get me started on both the similarities and lazy pronunciations that often happens with the words "haki" often spelled "hockey" and how almost everyone says "Zone" instead of "Zoan" when closed captioned when it comes to One Piece content...
Can you do history of the Beyonder, Crossfire, Living Laser, Iron Monger, Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, Ultimo, Darkhawk, Union Jack, Annihilus, the Badoon and the Broods?
Great videos. I'd love to see the history of the Champions...it was a short lived title but had a lot of interesting arcs...just a thought. Or a team like Zodiac Keep up the great work.
Who do you think would win between Ronan the Accuser and Super_Skrull? Can you do history of the Supreme Intelligence, Ronan the Accuser and Super_Skrull?
Can you do origin of Wonder Man, the Grim Reaper, Molecule Man, Sentry, Mr Immortal, Captain Universe, Dreadknight, Hypnotia, Blizzard, Starhawk, Flerken, Whirlwind, Chemistro, Whiplash, Ronan the Accuser, Ego the Living Planet, the Living Tribunal and Super_Skrull along with Avenger-X and the Protector?
I just discovered your channel and I have been glued to your videos for many hours. Thanks for filling in informative stuff and keeping me entertained!
It was really weird that by the end of the Captain Marvel movie, it turned out not a single one of the Skrulls that appeared were not complete assholes.
This may be a tad off topic but it be so easy to give Apocalypse a major universal threat power boost by simply saying he mastered his Celestial tech and unlocking new powers.
This kree & skrull wars would be great as a continuous novel series, like star wars or star trek. I guess the difference is that their would be an occasional page or two graphical drawings every 200 to 300 pages.
Everything good lies, unfortunatley in Marvels' PAST. Marvels' PRESENT is a disjointed and twisted mess leaving nothing for Marvels FUTURE. Great show, sir! \m/
I hope there is a video compliation on The Inhumans in the future since they were created by the Kree. I know one was done on Medusa, but there should be a video on the other Inhumans and its history.
Imagine if the kree and the skrull both invaded the star wars galaxy during the clone wars Imagine what that would cause to happen to the galactic republic and the seperatists when they both get attacked the skrull attacking the galactic republic and the kree attacking the seperatists and imagine how the entire star wars galaxy would react to the skree and skrull invading their planets while the galactic republic and the jedi and the clone army fighting the skrull and the seperatists and the sith and the droid army fighting the kree
My Quick Story line on how to introduce Fantastic 4.... The Skrulls find a Super Power (like a Phoenix Force) that will finally give them an advantage on winning the war against the Kree.. voting in a top general to do so, the ritual begins but something disrupts the process.. Not realizing, the elemental powers Skrull received were split amongst 4 other beings during a disruption in the ritual.. but becoming so powerful he overlooked anything else...but on half the powers he received, one final and very powerful element was missing entirely, that being transfered in to a one Dr. Doom.. why he is so powerful in his own right...his element isn't split amongst no one.. the disruption being the Space crew as we know as Fantastic 4...the other half of these powers were split between the 4, and the one we now know as Super Skrull has a collective of the rest.. years later on discovering the Fantastic 4 has his elemental powers... some how achieving them back would make him that much more...he sets out to get them back.... but not anticipating Dr.Doom because the final initial ultimate power was never granted or split between him or Doom... Doom releases Super Skrull of his elemental powers giving them to the 4 and the real beginning of the Fantastic 4 begin becoming Full powered elemental beings..
The idea is good but I would exclude Doctor Doom from it. One the worst the things the Fox movies did was give Doom powers, when in the comics he doesn't need. That's what makes him so badass. He is mortal who is smart as Reed, master in science and technology like Tony Stark, knows magic like Doctor Strange and much like Black Panther is the king of his own nation. That's why is so impactfull when he steal the powers of entity like Galactus or Beyonder, because we are seeing a simple man steal the powers of a "god". Also I think that's why he is Marvel best villain: While the marvel heroes are this super beings with relatable problems, Doom rejects humanity, doesn't recognize his mistakes and wants to prove that he is better than anyone (basically he wants to be god instead of human).
interesting theory i have, as the kree and skrulls are at war then they would likely alter their own history/mythos to discredit the other and we know the kree are a bit imperious so it makes sense if the progenitors where actually celestials as they function the same way, the kree would see themselves as just another one of the celestials experiments and so invented the progenitors as a cover to give themselves something unique.
