      I went to Harbin 哈尔滨 And Qiqihar 齐齐哈儿. Both cities we're named after Manchurian names.

      Charlie is definitely beyond the ordinary 6 degree student. In China, there are huge amounts of similar aged talents like Charlie . You can image why China develops so fast in the past 2 decades .

    I loved the exploratory mindset and positive energy of the video. I thought the kid was doing a decent job as a tour guide, and then I checked out his channel. Wow, if there are more Chinese sixth graders like him then we here in the US are in for some real tough competitions!

    the fact you know how to speak fluently makes it so much more immersive when you're in another culture. you don't feel as awkward and people don't see you as a tourist. also helps that you have a naturally friendly, fun personality

    Wow, new buildings juxtapose to old village. American girl speaks to Chinese kids in Mandarin. 6th grader speaks English to American girl. & look at big smiles on radiant faces of strangers.
    These tells me a volume more than GDP this, GDP that. Human development here, human development there. You all are amazing.

    Fun fact: Jiagedaqi is kind of like an exclave of Heilongjiang, It belongs to Inner Mongolia geographically, while governed by Heilongjiang de facto.

    What is exceptionally attractive about this Vlog is the bonus of Chinese and English subtitles apart from interaction with locals and relevant info on places and purposes of unique buildings. Highly recommend for her cheerful character and ease of language and tone and impartial views of how Chinese and Americans see each other through their respective set of glasses. I Hope Americans who view TH-cam will follow here for a better understanding of what the Chinese really are. 5 Stars.

    Jiagedaqi is my mom's hometown. I traveled there every summer or winter break when I was a kid. But they moved out of the town about 15 years ago. Thanks for making this video and bringing some good memories of my childhood.

    In my impression, those two kids are much more likely from big cities such as Beijing, Shanghai or Shenzhen. I can't believe they are from a 5-tier small regional city as they are so open, confident and tech-savvy.

    When I was in college I used to take the Jia Ge Da Qi to Shanghai train (the 158 train) from Jinzhou to Bengbu. I had to stand till the train reached Tianjin to get a seat. That was in the 1980s.

    Thank you for visiting my home province! I’m from a city called Daqing, which is the oil capital of China. You have to try “Guo bao rou” in northeast China, it’s a super delicious dish, and don’t forget to see the mountains along the trip.😍 enjoy your time!
