interesting you say that - if you are correct (and i believe you are) that means that they have dethroned Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz (I Love Lucy) ...... but here's something interesting - in an inadvertent hat tip to "Lucy and Desi", in the "April gives birth" scene, where April insists on keeping her halloween zombie face make up on while giving birth, in the episode all those decades ago where Lucy gives birth to Little Ricky, her husband shows up at the hospital wearing very scary zombie face make up (part of his act at the Tropicana, where he was performing that night) - and he gazed upon his new born son for the first time, wearing that frightening make up

Parks and Rec managed to have a character that was both an idiot, but loveable, well-meaning and adorkably hilarious but still manage to make them consistent. Whereas the Office couldn't accomplish that with characters like Erin and Kevin who just stupider and increasingly unfunny as the seasons progressed. Not Andy, though, there isn't a single season to which I rolled my eyes at his quirks and mishaps. Andy Dwyer is just the best.

Just as Chris in real life is nothing like "Andy", in real life Aubrey is nothing like "April" ..... Where we get confused is that BOTH characters grow over the 7 years of the series, and both characters become more like the REAL PEOPLE that play them - We came to love April and we came to love Andy, but we REALLY REALLY REALLY came to love "April & Andy" - They made the show a real "happening"
It's not totally accurate because Andy's not an asshole, he's actually a sweetheart but nice editing
he was definitely portrayed that way in Season 1 ..... faking an extension to his recovery time JUST so his girl friend Ann could continue waiting on him hand and foot
