I was just reminiscing about graveyard the other day, I really miss that rite of passage for acolytes. Just heal bombing for hours to get job 50 and there was always a priest on duty who would party with everyone and teleport around to give them magnificat, heals, and rezzes. Then when you finally made it to priesthood you could go and give back to the community.
@@maleusmaleficantor a little earlier than that. I killed those slimy monsters wearing gloves that drops slotted gloves from level 80 to 99 then i quit.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I started playing in 2004 and still play everyday! I played a crusader with my brother, a priest. We'd farm chiv2 for hours! When my brother was afk, I would go to the "T" and protect the sitters! Good times! Also good to see you're playing Ranger!
I spent so much time sitting there in ghc talking to random people or heal bombing on my acos lol im glad theres a video about this! I also remember south pront and south louyang but i cant recall other iconic spots off the top of my head other than cities
Not sure how your video/channel came across my youtube, but that's the algorithm I guess? As others have said, what a trip down memory lane! RO was the first MMORPG I played and basically paved my gaming path into MMORPGs. I remember when I was hooked in the open beta then was hella sad when it went full release but with subscription. I think I was like 12 at the time or so. Not sure how long later, maybe a year or so private servers came out and I was hooked on private servers for a good moment in time. Good ol times. I remember getting the doppleganger card, one of the most sought after cards in the game, except of course it was a on private servers were drop rates were higher.
yea the nostalgia is very strong! I'm gonna redownload this soon! And try it, back a long time ago I started RO on Deliverance Online, a private server that my friend from school recommended I play with him, so I did, and it was the first MMO I ever played: Jabber, Paladin. It was 50x/50x/50x and I heard that the original iro was really slow leveling but my friend was on Deli so I stayed there, unless there was downtime and that's when I visited other servers, but the official IRO I never ventured into. I might do that! I thought this game was long dead... and didn't think it was around until I started watching your videos OMG THE NOSTALGIA!! The Grind is what I LOVE!!!! It started with RO for me, and the grind continued in world of warcraft, and then in final fantasy 14 was not so much grind but story mode... but nothing compared to the feeling I got from my first mmo Ragnarok Online. I need to check my computer setup and try this out again and buy a sub haha: Here, have a random Blessing! ~* JOEL 2:8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. 9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows as a thief. 10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: 11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
Back somewhere in 2004 my parents would go to this Chinese Restaurant that was very innocuous and unassuming. You would walk in, and across the dining area was a door that was always closed and had white paper on it, so you would never know anything was behind it. I always thought it was dead space. One day the owner mentioned to us there was a store there, and when we walked in there was an anime shop. The guy sitting at that counter was playing Ragnarok PC on it. I remember just how many people were on that screen then, and after that I learned a lot about how popular it was. I never did get into Ragnarok, but I had always wanted to. Thanks for this.
I have a lot of good memories for this game. Me and a friend used to love spending time using branches and then panicking when we would eventually summon something too powerful. It made us zero progress but the randomness was so fun.
Omg yes, I remember that. We called it the cross. I was there with my noob Priest who job changed at 40 and couldn't do much there, but I loved it. Later I was in the basement with my Dancer and grindet Sting's. Good times. I started again on the european servers at 4game, but they deleted the server my new dancer was on and their new server has these new maps/monsters and idk where to lvl.
Wow I just absolutely LOVE your videos. The memories that you are bringing flooding back are amazing to me because I was around for those times. I had in in game wife as well and she was much like yourself. We made so many memories together leveling our little characters. I do remember every so often a GM would spawn a God Poring in South Prontera and it would be a crazy spectacle that the whole server would start messaging their guild mates and friends to come. I remember when they changed the look of Payon as well. What a major uproar in the community. I've also hung out many hours at the GH T. Gravity really has bastardized this game, it's just a cash shop nightmare now. They really didn't build the community aspect of this game. Instead they just added more OCP's and junk to the cash shop that makes people not play the game. This game was highly communal and that's what I liked the most. Seeing that lone priestess hunt you down to heal you and buff you was absolutely heart warming and nostalgic. Man getting those buffs and heals back in the day was a breath of fresh air that kept you going through the dungeons. I'd been checking back to your page to see when a new video came out. So glad you got a moment to make this one. Looking forward to all your next ones and definitely have the notifications turned on. Sorry for the long post but this really did make my day!
Not really into RO when it came out but tried it and enjoyed alot of it. Seeing this game again and listening to your story brings back so many memories! Thank you for this vid! :) yout got my sub
Back during sakray (PHRo days before valkyrie and renewal) there used to be a spot in the GL Prison on the lower right where people just chilled and farmed zombie prisoners and skel prisoners its mostly priests crusaders and hunters along with the rare wizard that hanged out to find parties and buy blue potions good times.
I vaguely remember seeing someone in the internet cafe (back in the day) hanging out at the "T" with their friend who is a purple-haired acolyte (or priest, I can't remember). Since then, I've always used the same hairstyle as the acolyte!
I remember guarding the t when someone in the party needed a break and you didn't want to wander too far and die. I also remember jumping into warp portals that someone else paid for and had already gone through. No reason to let it go to waste :P
RO is still alive? 😄 I don't think I ever got high enough level to hang out at Glastheim tho. Or maybe it just wasn't very good for whatever class I was. Don't remember. RO was my second MMO back in the day after this little RPG called Redmoon, or maybe Red Moon. Wow, what a throwback.
Never heard of the T, but I was a South Prontera guy 😂 The best was the random dead branches xD Also, I noticed your level. Take the Bounty quests in Rachel and go to Rachel Sanctuary. You'll be able to 1 shot most mobs 😊
ahhh that place...nostalgia T area kinda populate with lots of acolyte and priest, and sometimes you see random knight passing by and randomly found dark lord hahaha2 6:06 i just want to cry that moment ahh bring me on old nostalgia... its kinda sad i play ragnarok mobile that kinda buff easily getting abused now days...
The real magic behind this game was the "social aspect" of the game. The chat box back in 2000 was really ahead of its time in comparison with other MMORPG
I remember that Glast, while technically made for Lv 80+/50 1rst job parties would really put players in their place, well into them having Transcendent toons of those levels. In particular, I remember it being the first dungeon where you really couldn't have anyone in the party not bringing their own consumables. It probably epitomized my distaste for Renewal- because it began as the crown jewel of Ragnarok as a brutal team dungeon crawler, and was transformed (like the rest of the game) into more of a one way theme park (they even put a job change quest there for Rune Knight.) It was a bitter pill, because the new assets were great, but the new scale was all wrong. All of the 3rd jobs could have been turned into 2-3 split job options for the existing 12; and the option could have always been to use any of your job costumes for people who didn't like the new "Battle Bikini" sprites.
Yea, I never really leveled in Glast Heim much (I started playing a little while before ninja and gunslinger dropped). But my most fond memories are deffo the goat south of prontera, or even south of Lou Yang or the centre by the statues 🤣. It's so true that the game is LITTERED with memories.
I played a wizard in the open beta/shortly after in 2003-4, was a really cool time and ya there used to be those semi protected areas where players would congregate for a safe space on the map, socializing, leeching etc. Other places I remember were in GH prison close to the level 2 warp had a little ledge, entrance to argiope map/high orc map etc. I did come back to playing in 2011-12 for a while and tried renewal with a rune knight, went back to GH to farm raydrics to get my new account started and it was fun to relive the game in a bit of a different style with transcendent/3rd classes and updated mechanics/content etc... Shame the game has lost it's priority for party play and become so focused on cash shop/dailies. I quit a long time ago but the old old days were the best truly
I miss a certain party I had just prior to the release of renewal. The 3 of us would spend the evenings grinding Loli Ruris in Niffleheim while chatting. I was an agi sader, we had a knight and an assassin. I think we took turns bringing a priest alt. I got 99 like right around when renewal came out and changed to royal guard and was so excited by the class itself. But renewal broke the game. Party play was no longer what it was. We all quit not long after and it was sad. Somehow this group is meaningful to me, though. I miss those evenings.
Oh my, the IRO Ragnarok Online has a character High Priestess Niroen that looks just like Amber Evelyn. This high priestess even has similar looking glasses. Niroen is usually in the Arunafeltz temple, but she can also be found outside at the new quest featuring the Pope. For those who climbed up into near Heaven to see the Pope during the temple access quest, you can meet her again at this much newer quest starting with High Priestess Niroen in the city of Rachel at /navi rachel 176\4/137 . Really, Niroen really does look like Amber Evelyn.
It was crazy, so many acos. Sometimes there wasn’t a place to sit going across the “T”. 😅 I remember the panic dying while trying to kill something there wonder how I’d get back again. Only to have a priest find and resurrect me. Good times!
wow.. didn't know this T existed, probably because I usually go to the prison. Glast Heim was always scary for me. Just the main town map alone, the OST, the concept, and Abyssmal Knight scares me. Trying to walk to prison or the church scares me. When Abyssmal Knight is at floor lvl1, and I'm at lv2, I would try to storm gust it, but only dealing only maybe 800 damage each though haha.
Ayye i had a ME priest so GH was the main stomping ground lol But like every map had parties going on but the cross/graveyard map was always the most crowded, so much it was hard to get a spot to regen on the cross lol. I think back then it was zombies, mimics, red flies, zombie prisoners only?. and if i remember right Glast Heim was the capital of Midgard before Prontera, but whole area along with the old king got corrupted and the king became GH's MVP Dark Lord haha
The “t” was great for mag parties! Though the priest Evil Minh kept dragging DL through it so he’d get more exp mvping it. Still, it all added to a fun place
I remember that people from the SEA Servers didn't have this as safe spot. Most players will just tp back to their saved town or city, I would say majority were in the inn near the center in Prontera.
I remember that I did go there all the time I had a priest I loved lvling up three but now I don't play it and I played it when it started but now I don't have a laptop OS I can't play it now I have only have a iPad now so now I play ragnarok eternal love and I love it but it miss Ragnarok online alot
i recommend you playing ragnarok origin global, available on pc and android/mac devices. very nostalgic almost similar to the ragnarok classics. see you there :)
RO used to be filled back then, and you really can't get to 99 without a party. Leveling maps used to be filled with parties or people looking for/recruiting for a party. BTW if you can't do mid TI why no go to juperos? there's a bounty board in juno and eden also has a dungeon warp for it. Or maybe other bounty boards that are for your level. TI maps are good if you can reliably solo or have a party but not really the best place otherwise.
I have 4 brothers and the only girl so I was the designated priest. I also run to other players to bless and agi them hahaha kyrie and impo if they stay longer.😂
sorry it annoys me so much that she calls it T its a cross....its in a church.......but it was great time back in the day, I remember seeing a lvl 40 Aco get MVP on DL think he was only one who was doing damage and didnt die

I played around 2007, I was in 7th grade... I was a thief and I was just exploring the world. Byalan was the spot that I remembered the most.
Oh my goodness, this game is so memorable. I'll never forget my level 99 Hunter that has 99 agi and 99 dex back in 2003.
2003 if you made it 2003 then reaching level 99 be at 2004
@@maleusmaleficantor a little earlier than that. I killed those slimy monsters wearing gloves that drops slotted gloves from level 80 to 99 then i quit.
Yean, the infamous Glass Cannon , lol, I had that one as my first Char and now leveling him as a Ranger. 😂

I'm a returning player myself and love what you are doing letting others know about IRO ❤. I'm in Chaos too, I'l try to say hi in there next time. 😊

sorry it annoys me so much that she calls it T its a cross....its in a church.......but it was great time back in the day, I remember seeing a lvl 40 Aco get MVP on DL think he was only one who was doing damage and didnt die
