Hello there folks!
I am a blacksmith from Misamis Oriental, Mindanao, Philippines in pursuit of the preservation of this dying art and craft of the Philippines as today there's a great decline of people especially with my fellow Filipinos to get in touch with Bladesmithing. I started blacksmithing way back 2013 and since my childhood I've been inspired by my late Grandpa who's also a blacksmith his whole life until his death. Now, I am the only one in his lineage to follow his footsteps and all I want is to never let this art to die.

Nice
Hi Ramon. You are doing well. Are you using some of your grandfather’s old tools? I have a suggestion for your anvil block which might help you. I saw that you were holding the the job over the edge of your block and the sharp corner was cutting into the steel. If you can grind a radius on that edge facing the camera ( on the opposite side to where you stand ) then it would be easier to thin the hot steel down. Just like using the ‘ horn’ of an English anvil. It’s called Fullering. Keep at it and walk in your grandfather’s footsteps. 👍😁
Thank you Sir! your comment is much appreciated, I will upload soon my other working videos when everything is fine here in the Philippines 😀

@@randomrealistictone2231 oh I'm sorry, I thought you were asking about the Kris sword. I've already finished this project. I'll just make another one in one video, soon. 👍

In Bicol Region Sundang is a general term used for any kind of blade that is larger than a knife. It is mostly used as a tool in work, farm, ricefield and at home and also as a defensive/offensive weapon. Even though we are now in the modern times and in a very advanced civilization, sundang is still use to settle family disputes mostly over land disputes or restoring/reclaiming families' honor. Yup they still kill/murder each others family members enemy using Sundang here in Canaman, Cam. Sur. It may be an isolated cases these days because we are generally peace loving people but its a sad truth.
Glad to hear that, Sir! thanks for this

Sundang meaning itak/bolo sa salitamg bikol.iba iba ang klase ng sundang o itak..bolo in english
sundang as the collective term in almost all of the bisaya regions. in the other hand, bolo appears to be the general english term for all the filipino knives larger than a knife, as it would be so problematic to point out each of the hundreds of kinds of our very own filipino blades. Here in our place Mis.Or it's also called 'sundang' so as in cebu, bukidnon, bohol, davao, etc.
Magandang gabi po sir . sir pa support po sa aming channel🙏
