Hey man, thanks for the great vids. Ive been an AM for about a month now. Im a finance grad, with only teller banking experience. I wanna make the switch back to finance but i feel as though anything in banking doesnt make enough to make ends meet. Howd you land the advisor position? Did you have experience in finance?
I did not. All I had was my insurance license prior to coming in. You have to be patient in finding the right position that will pay well enough in the beginning. Finance is definitely a long-term play on my part, and I was prepared to take a slight cut and budget more in the first couple of years since you can experience huge bumps in pay as you become more successful in an advisor role!
Slightly less, but there are commissions and bonuses based on personal and company performance that will put overall pay above what I was making at Amazon.
I also am an AM and am thinking about leaving I’m about 6mo in, I’m curious how did you handle the sign on bonus ? Did you have to repay it all back or partially?

I have a Management BS, do you think obtaining a MBA in finance will create more opportunities or would it not be worth it ?
That all depends on what type of career you want to put yourself into. Do you have any ideas?
Is it the same base pay as Amazon or less ?
