Thanks for trying to show the pattern closer but there was a glare. The insert of the pattern was perfect. I love the top and the pants...yes indeed bring the sides of the shirt in all the way down to reduce the volume. I am 66 and I have been sewing since I was 7 and I still don't know the names of the fabrics. Especially the ITY and Challis and others. I look at the end of the bolt and the signs and I will take a photo of that so that I can remember what it is when I get it home. I haven't bought any fabric online but I do browse and I believe you have a jersey fabric. I used to sew almost everyday when my children were little. I got up early and sewed until they woke up and needed breakfast. I made most of what my daughter and I wore but I mostly do alteration for people and make memory quilts and craft now. thanks for sharing your #Fridaysews.

I agree with you about the turquoise top - you've highlighted exactly what I don't like about tops like that on me. It's that wide-thru-the-upper bust section. And the length needs to be right - you're completely on the right track with your alterations to the top. The leggings are really cute! Oh, rain. Nice once in awhile but not for days on end! I'm with you, totally a summer girl. My birthday is in June and I don't know what I'd do if I lived Down Under - my birthday in the dead of winter? Crazy! I love it warm, the warmer the better. I love the fabric colors in the garments you're sewing right now. A long time ago I used to work with flat pattern design. I had a file of pattern pieces I liked that was separate from the patterns I had purchased, kind of a cross file. This file allowed me to add elements to patterns and switch things up. I like to use my camera when I'm buying fabric I take photos of the end of the bolt which shows care instructions and names. I can up load these to a file on my computer. I always love to see what you're working on. You keep me motivated!

Im going to try this set. I am planing on reversing the colors. Multicolore on top and solid color for the bottom. I have learned that a solid colour top is spoiled if you get even the tiniest spot on the front.

Your frustration with the phone and iPad notifications made me laugh. I turned off all of my notifications because I fell like I get bombarded with messages etc. I had been sewing like crazy to complete holiday gifts and now I’m trying to finish a couple of baby bargello quilts and am getting ready to try a new bag pattern. I really want to learn how to make my own jackets for work so one of these days I’m going to learn how to modify those patterns.

@@FarrellFocus We don’t camp in San Diego but my niece loves Santee Lakes, super hot in the summer but spring and late fall are nice. If you like beach camping Campland on the Bay is popular and Silver Strand has a great beach but the camp sites are really only a parking lot. Carlsbad State beach is popular but impossible to get a spot.Let me know if you come south.
That outfit is looking really good and with a bit of tweaking I’m sure you’ll be happy with it. I have that pattern but never noticed it had the leggings on it, just thought it was a tops pattern 🤣. Pattern matching on the leggings was👏🏼. We have a caravan and awning (i live in the UK) and know exactly what you mean re having to dry out canvas! We normally spend the whole holiday weather watching to see when the best time to take it down will be but you don’t get that option with a trailer tent! Thanks for your video. X

I just found you this morning. U look so much younger than 61. I am 63 and look no where as good as you. What's your secret? I love sewing. I have been seeing as long as I can remember. My Mama taught me so many short cuts in garment making. When I was a teenager I would come home from school and make a new dress to wear the next day. (My Mom had a fabric shop in our living room) anyway I lost her in 2016 and miss her so much. We loved going and buying fabric and buttons and just what ever to had to our board. I too have the same problem with tops like that. Will you unpick the sides and change the armscye depth too? Really interested to see how you tackle that.

I just found you this morning. U look so much younger than 61. I am 63 and look no where as good as you. What's your secret? I love sewing. I have been seeing as long as I can remember. My Mama taught me so many short cuts in garment making. When I was a teenager I would come home from school and make a new dress to wear the next day. (My Mom had a fabric shop in our living room) anyway I lost her in 2016 and miss her so much. We loved going and buying fabric and buttons and just what ever to had to our board. I'll never use all the fabrics she had. But I will try. Have a great day. From SC.
