It’s a different backstory, but it’s going to be a skilled assassin trained at the same school as John facing the same league of assassins, from the looks of it. My hope is that her cqc is more acrobatic and focuses on maneuvering around her opponent (a la black widow) rather than John’s style of ground slams and moving the opponent around his space.

anytime you replace a main character who engages in hand to hand combat with a woman you have to change the fight choreography to match, in the trailer they present this as "you have to cheat" but a female actress cheating would be using concealed weapons and seduction not going for groin shots, the reason this doesnt work is if you have never been hit by a man who has trained to fight versus a woman who trains to fight, is that when a man punches you you are going to feel that, versus a woman who cannott deliver the same level of physical damage to a man in the time periods necessary, a woman can get overrun by 3 men, but a man likes those odds, despite this being a keanu project it still will miss and hit too close to the woke ideologies ruining the entertainment industries.
This movie is a practically useless addition to the John wick series . Instead if there was one more movie where we would be able to see the start of John wick's journey as to why & how he became the way he was , some much anticipated scenes ( killing 3 men with a pencil ) , alongwith overlapping of hutch mansell and action sequences of both wick and mansell fighting together or with each other. It will be a really great sell . Or would have loved a movie showing halle Berry's character arc . P.S. - You can disagree with me my g , but my thoughts will still remain the same .
I think that from the trailer, Eve Macarro is probably going to be more of a fighter who fights because she has to, but not wants to. John loves violence, and the death of his dog pushed him into the adrenaline rush of killing, which caught up to him eventually. Eve may be someone who fights to protect someone close to her, like Caine with his daughter, but Eve doesn't enjoy violence, and tries to use stealth to her advantage rather than blunt force.
