The infamous "butcher bird" flies again! Fast, agile and enormously well armed, the 190 proved a nasty surprise for the RAF when they first appeared, and no wonder; the 190 could pull intense, rolling 9-G turns at speeds that would rip the wings off a Spitfire Mk V! That's what spurred the development of the legendary Mk IX, though, which (although it was originally intended as "an interim design") ended up reigning supreme for the remainder of the war.
The one flaw the 190 really had was its high wing loading, which gave it very nasty stall characteristics, often with little or no advance warning. If an Allied fighter could hang in there through the first couple of mind-bending high-G turns, the 190 pilot soon found himself running out of options, with his aircraft constantly on the verge of stalling.
In the "History Of The RAF" dvd set, one veteran RAF pilot called the 190 "brute force and ignorance."🤣 Still, I love to see these old warbirds flying again...the war is long over, and we're all friends now, thank goodness.

Way to rub it in I went on the Sunday and it was raining all day and no warbirds flew I was quite upset that I didn’t see these magnificent aircraft fly

+@stephengamble9388 The blown canopy was available before the D-9 series. This is a new-build Fw-190.

Anyone know why it has a yellow rudder? Fw190A8 Red One from JG54 is always depicted with a Camo coloured tail.
I don't know the reason, but the bottom of the nose was also often colored in yellow, also at the Me Bf 109. And I have seen the yellow Fw 190 rudder on several sketches in aviation history magazines, too. Will take a look if I can find out if this had a special meaning, like the colored ribbon near the tail, which indicated the plane belonged to the homeland defense against the Allied bombers ("Reichsverteidigung").
Is this a Ash-82 engine?
Any connection here with the P-47?
I don’t think so as the FW was German and the p-47 was American , however it does share the same fuselage style and kind of looks like a mini jug.
