Welcome to the Martial Arts Journey TH-cam channel!
My name is Rokas. I'm a Lithuanian guy who trained Aikido for 14 years, 7 of them running a professional Aikido Dojo until eventually I realized that Aikido does not live up to what it promises.
Lead by this realization I decided to make a daring step to close my Aikido Dojo and move to Portland, Oregon for six months to start training MMA at the famous Straight Blast Gym Headquarters under head coach Matt Thornton.
After six months intensive training I had my first amateur MMA fight after which I moved back to Lithuania. During all of this time I am documenting my experience through my TH-cam channel called "Martial Arts Journey".
Now I am slowly setting up plans to continue training MMA under quality guidance and getting ready for my next MMA fight as I further document and share my journey and discoveries.

-killed both of his teammates
-singlehandedly killed all the zombies in the area
-murdered a innocent child causing the family to now live in a state of depression

-was fully prepared to try capture a zombie
-died like a absolute badass at the end

true, it was really some movie shit, a retired badass SWAT officer taking the hard calls and doing whatever which needs to be done to survive, but just like in the movies he has to die in some badass way taken out only by an army of zombies while others survive to remember him
That would make a really cool apocalypse movie about an ex-SWAT officer and his buddies.

IKR. I seriously doubt he was ever in the police force let alone a swat officer! First of all there's a height requirement and Icey Mike is too short to go on 1/2 the rides at Disneyland.

Seeing the SWAT guy organise a team and give tactics was interesting. Seth also assumed the leadership role of his team.

Lol Gabi's anti mike conspiracy theory was brilliant. Mike man, what a character, he was in his own movie, everyone else is tapping their heads as if they had a pool noodle, MIKE however, has a pretend Dagger and short sword that sticks into skulls and requires force to remove it from the puncture wound :) he's probably not the easiest to be around for extended periods of time, he seems like he's ON non stop, but damn you gotta love him.

Icy Mike going into full LARP mode was the best thing about video. From his throwing noodle, to the dual wielding, building a shield and hopping up on tables. And of course the cold blooded murder. You could almost see his character class as “Rogue.”
He’d be the most fun contestant to drink beers and play D&D with.

Undoubtedly Mike and Gabi were the main characters of this episode; Seth the funny sidekick, Jeff the silent background action star. Mike rather the dominant antihero, and quite funny that like in the movies, He also died just before the end, but not before causing death of many others.😁 Classic movie script scenario! 😂
I respectfully disagree. Seth and Jeff were the two characters who actually make it out alive (think Carter and Preacher in Deep Blue Sea). Mike was a secondary story-line "lone wolf character" who was always destined to die in the end. Gabi was the character who should have made it but didn't.

mike is so extra. love him for that. the little details like the VO guy you hear in so many survival/challenge shows, the power up sound for the infared camera with scan lines, the sweeping epic action movie background music is extremely nice. lastly, somebody's going to be pissed in the office the next day because their chair is missing.

@Tac I was planning to have a boxing fight six months ago but got injured. Now USDC is taking all of my time and energy and I don't have time to even train. Hopefully in the future I will have more time though and will have a chance to fight some more

I think Mikes Swat skills in searching was good. But stacking up might be really good if you have guns but would not recommend it in a knife/sword fight or whatever that toy is representing. Just makes it way to hard to move around and avoid stuff or realistically deliver a killing blow. Was so funny when nonchalantly killed his team when they got bit 😂😂

I had exactly the same thought as I watched this haha! People pay for 'Escape Room' and other themed challenges all the time; and I know plenty of people (myself included!) Who would love to come play like this.
It's far enough removed from technical combat and pushed more into a psuedo fantasy, LARP/Training Exercise that even average people could get a good experience out of it.
I heard they are converting old malls in America into Zombie experiences, so maybe you can! But this one looked really amazing

Had no doubt that Jeff Chan would make it for sure. Congrats to him he’s proven himself very well so far that even though he trains in competition, it’s still applicable for combat.
This could be a show all by itself. At first I was disappointed there was no proper competition but this was done really well. Didnt expect that. Go Icy Mike!!!

This is absolutely hilarious. I love how team 1 uses their street smarts and is super effective, while Mike uses his police stuff to everyone's detrement and gets them all killed. Makes for a great zombie comedy 😂

To be fair, they got ambushed by the zombie dropping from the ceiling while Group 1 had the zombie drop far ahead of them. Also, it seemed the hallway wasn't being monitored properly
@@M4A1MG42 You're right, they weren't always following his orders and kept looking what he was doing insteqd of checking their corners. But he was also heavy on the orders, I imagine that would be pretty overwhelming.
@@CaptainVincentRiley Mike wanted everyone to move relatively fast, and most police scenarios don't involve attackers coming from above. To be fair, most zombie scenarios that involve zombies coming from above don't have them coming from a small hole in the ceiling--it's usually from a much bigger hole or from a balcony.

Fun episode, Gabi should be nicknamed ''Double Tap Gabi'', Mike seemed to enjoy this event the most both on role-playing and as defense situation.
Watching episode 3 and 4, I wonder if a show like USDC based on team event could be more interesting than single competitor events.
Ironic that Mikes tactical advice helped Seth and Jeff make it out but he himself succumbed. Good lesson that despite skill and specific training, any one thing can go wrong in a situation.

This is all Mike's ever been training for and why he has so many weapons
Why was that more entertaining and immersive than every other zombie movie/show. I loved that almost everyone "double tapped" every zombie they encountered, just to he sure. Mike and seth taking point in both teams i feel says something about them as people/characters. I loved the innovation from both teams, team 1 using chairs as shields, and then mike using the box as an arm shield.
This should be the new "escape room". Theyrd be called "zombie escape" or something, and theyd essentially run similarly. Id do that all the time. This looked like so much fun. They all really got into it. So much fun.
There was a sense of chaos to it, and I think that was real even though the rest is pretend. I think we dig people that are genuine, they all wanted to succeed, as bad ass as they are, sometimes simple stupid things happen to amazing people, despite the fact they can do a one legged front flip, they can still trip over nothing and be eaten by a lipstick zombie. This was the most real thing I've ever seen in any sort of "reality TV" program.

Jeff was crazy! Mike was crazier, as we all think he would be. In a zombie apocalypse story, the nice guys tend to be gone early. Too bad for you and Ramsey (Why, Ramsey?! Why?! Why did you have to die?! And you, too Rokas?!).
Seth and Jeff made great partners. Seth is calm and Jeff was fast.
Overall, this was brilliant! I had to pause after every section of each team just to laugh!

Gabi was a legit strategic mastermind. When signed for them to move on while she waited for the zombie to open the door was beautiful.
i love how this accidentally turned out just like a zombie movie without even having a script. just by setting some ground rules and let the magic happen :D

As many of the participants have said in videos, sometimes it's ok to do some types of training that may not be the most "realistic" just for fun.
Absolutely, even if it's unrealistic you still train the same stuff.

Love how Mike showed the entire world how utterly inept police are. 1st group breezed through the event while Mike got his whole team killed plus a civilian.
@@Kazu-don Where it made sense. Was surprised how good it passed to so many places. ...But I stopped now.🙄My bad.
@@Memorixt The second team had a harder ambush to deal with on that hall way. The door is a funnel and an easy ambush point, so always a trouble. Team 1 didn't get ambushed there where as team 2 did. Once Ramsey fell on that entrance, their 'fire power' also fell. Which lead to Rokas falling soon after. It wasn't leadership or tactic difference but just bad luck/smarter zombie placement.
I just gotta say, I love everything about this show. You got me waiting for the next episode and I rarely do that. Everything is so educational and I've learnt enough even in this little fun activity of zombie fighting. Thanks
This episode was too entertaining. I knew there were gonna be zombies, but I thought it would be more out in the open. Making it in this building made it awesome.

I love how crafty Mike is. You can see his experience from police work shine through here. This is essentially room clearing, but instead of guns you have batons. Each person has to cover a sector of the room to ensure the group isnt blindsided

I think group 2 had it harder, 3 zombies at a doorstep, 1 at the corner, 1 hanging from ceiling and last one at the corridor

Rokas, this is seriously just an amazing series. I watch a LOT of TH-cam and i can't say that I've ever been so excited for a set of videos to come out. Just an amazing job. I feel like I'm watching a legitimate network TV show when I'm tuning in.
Also, huge props to the staff planning this all out and putting it on. The zombie/bad guy actors and director of the self defense training program are the unsung heroes of all this.

In terms of the mission… yeah no surprise, two biggest and strongest guys survived. Icy Mike though… Dude. I’m glad Seth finished him in the end, he deserved it.

Every episode is even better than the previous one, which is no small feat because they are all amazing. Seriously, every video deserves a bazillion views! I love zombie horror movies and shows, so this one was extraordinarily exciting for me.
