    Very interesting video. One of the things I saw with my friends is that S2 are not getting as hot as S3. And always makes me scary. All you show have a lot of sense. Keep going with the videos.

    This actually works. I've even fitted a leaner needle and still runs cooler. What's your opinion on modifying further to block escape at the exhaust stub?

    • @TheSteelweasel
      @TheSteelweasel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      pointless it still passes via fins ? and you need air flow around this area its hot ? i think its a bad idea thats why i dont do it .........

    Another great video Steve I've just found this one, what are your thoughts on the Casa cooler. Many thanks and keep em coming.

      Bloody expencive mate and no more cooling than if you just remove to center of your cover and dome the dust cap ? But nice quality and stronger build ? I would get one if I had money to splash around lol .

    Hi Steel weasel I am going to modify my cowlings as soon as possible, I had made a cut out under the carb copying the one on my TV 175, thinking it would let the hot air escape , I am now thinking this was an error as it may loose air flow to the top end, apparently it was to warm the carb, exactly what you don’t need, would you advise blocking this off with a bung until I can modify properly, thanx for your advice, you must have helped many people.

    • @TheSteelweasel

      yes block it off mate air on to the carb can be ok in winter in temp below 5c but above that it becomes a problem boiling fuel in carb and diverting from head .

    Have you a fin in the cylinder cowling ?

      no lol he would be a very unhappy Fin

    • @TheSteelweasel
      @TheSteelweasel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think the fin you are thinking of was fitted on some lambrettas that had an exit to heat the carb , the fin directed some of the air towards this exit . Not in my cowlings sorry .

      I've cut an old cylinder cowling up today but but what's stopping the air passing out straight past the exhaust stub?

    • @TheSteelweasel
      @TheSteelweasel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andysimpson5481 all you can do is keep the cowling as close to the stub as possible but it wont make much difference as most of the heat is in the head . keep the head cool and the rest stays cooler ?

      @@TheSteelweasel cheers mate. At least air can pass over the cylinder head now. Not sure about cutting the rest of the side off and centre out my flywheel cover

      yes i do, but if you wait a bit im doing better ones in the new year ) these are fiberglass but im going to make some in carbon / pla 3d printed .

    • @TheSteelweasel
      @TheSteelweasel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it takes me three days to make them in fiber glass and its just lots of work for little money so im going to try to print them in carbon impregnated pla plastic ? its strong and heat resistant to 160c

    Years of Studi Innocenti destroyed so easily?

    • @TheSteelweasel
      @TheSteelweasel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you think Innocenti is perfect you could'nt be more wrong , It was changed many times by them and limited by cost ? the last GP was as far as the development went . But still had poor brakes , unreliable electrics and a cooling system designed to commute short trips , we now demand them to tour sitting on duel carriageways at 60 mph , so standard lambretta is not designed for this thats why im changing things on my scooters im too old to push .

    • @kingandy4214
      @kingandy4214 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheSteelweasel that's exactly what I was thinking about. I think original cooling and braking are ok for a standard machine designed for trips around town. I did my question because it seems you are doing that on a standard machine with a standard carburettor and ignition. However great recommendations. Thank you.
