Fantastic Chris! Simple instructions for beekeepers on a budget. So true about NOT filtering too much, little point in honey without pollen/propolis. Regrettably there are purists amongst us who love the clear, yet adulterated, liquid heaven. Maybe some honey competitions have a class for "not clear but wholesome honey" - Again great video. Mark.
We used to have a black jar category where the jar was wrapped and only judged on taste. A much better way I always thought. Honey needs the pollen and propolis in it to give the full health benefits.
Absolutely wonderful video. You are so correct, leave honey as natural as possible, nutrient vs aesthetic perfection, nutritional value wins every time for me. Thank you Chris 🙏
@@cotswoldbees exactly, as a young boy over seventy years ago my great uncle used to send honey combs from his apiary and my mother stood them over a saucer with knitting needles and the honey dripped out! What utter joy and pleasure, nothing was wasted. You give great wisdom coupled with a gentle sense. I pray you continue
After watching your video and learning about the benefits of leaving in the pollen and propylis, the next time I went to the store I bought that kind instead of the super clear/super filtered type. Much different taste/flavor!
Outstanding set of videos, thank you. What do you prefer doing with the wax you recover from the sieve? I've got to get a settling tank like this, so nice, and so much easier to extract off of deep frames (my bees just laugh at my medium supers).
We rough process the wax and then swap it for foundation at the bee equipment suppliers. I use the shallow supers as the weight of moving supers with full deep frames every seven days is too much for me when they are full.

Amen, so well said

My pleasure. So glad you enjoyed it. None of our honey is filtered and most is sold in the comb which is proper raw honey.

That sounds like a yummy way of dealing with comb.

That’s brilliant. I couldn’t be more pleased. So glad you liked the “real” stuff
Looks perfect to me 🐝
Thanks
