Sometimes I feel like the water conservation efforts counteract with the problem that is the nature of plumbing. I'm all for conserving water, but this seems like a pay for it now, or pay for it later scenario, where a larger water reservoir with each flush would help alleviate some of the not so ideal plumbing. But hey, what do you do? Cheers!
This totally. My neighborhood is prewar built and has older vitrified plumbing lines like this and everyone has to have their lines jetted every few years due to blockages. These issues started after municipal efforts to get everyone to replace their toilets with low water toilets. I drilled out my shower heads (you can't buy any now over 1.5 gmp) and replaced the tanks on the toilets with larger 5 gallon ones. I don't have any issues and haven't in years and knock on wood won't either in the future.
