I gotta thank you man. I was getting temps around 76-82 celsius when doing stress tests, now barely peaking 70. Im still rocking an RX 480 by the way! I just copied your settings in the video except i’m lowering my mV ten instead of five. Nothing too crazy, yet.

      Always happy to hear ;)
I find 1200-1250mhz is the best performance per watt range.
If you really need colder temps, I would run 1150mhz on the core and drop voltages to 910mv for state 7.
Some cards can run lower voltages, just depends on the silicon and how demanding the game is

@@AleksandrsBrodie yeah I was confused at first with how hot it was getting the card I'm working with now come stock with 1328 megahertz on the core I got it down to 1020v 0n State 5 to 7 and 1000v on 3 and 4 the others are stock this is stable in unigine superposition with temp hitting 81c with a stock fan curve I ended up ditching MSI afterburner for some reason the user-defined profile was causing the undervolt to not take effect this is after assigning a profile in Radeon software so I tried just undervolting with MSI afterburner it was almost the same effect so I ditched it stuck with Radeon software redid everything set up fan curve have it looping in superposition Max temps 73 so far

Absolutely amazing! I kept crashing in a multitude of games only to find out that my card was hitting 87-89 degrees C before crashing. I used a drill on my side panel to add a new intake fan right next to the GPU but that only took it down about 3 degrees. Then I swapped the stock thermal paste out for thermal grizzlies kryonaut. Another few degrees lower. Now with these settings, I finally can say that my card maxes out at 69-70, and I don't have a crashing problem anymore.

Hey man, thank you so much for this. I've had my RX 580 for over a year now and I used to have a lot of heating problems. I had to lock my fps to 60 and slightly undervolt my card to have reasonable temperatures but with these settings I don't have any heat problems, hell I can even play AC Unity with my fps unlocked and not get 80ºC. It really helped me out, thanks a ton!

    Thanks for sharing.
Used your recommended settings on my RX 570 4GB, and on Overwatch 2 the temps went down from around 80°C - 85°C to 65°C - 70°C.
It's summer, and temperatures outside are well over 30°C+.
Hence why my GPU was also running much hotter than intended (in the winter times the RX 570 never got higher temps than 65°C playing Overwatch 2, but now i suspect that with your settings the temps will probably go down into the 50's, once winter breaks again).
Thanks a lot, you got yourself a new subscriber & supporter!

Hey, thanks for the video mate! this is my first time undervolting my GPU and it worked like a charm.
I have an RX 580 (8GB), when I played the temp usually reached 75c, with your settings I'm barely getting 62c while playing, I lost a couple of FPS which was expected but the temp dropped dramatically so it's a good trade-off for me, I can always increase the MHz a bit more if I ever need it but for now I'm cool with your settings.

Thanks for the help, dude. My card (ASRock RX 5700 XT) was getting ~74 C when mining ETH before I undervolted from 1200mv to 850mv. Now it runs at 66 C while drawing over a third less watts (198w to 120w). Hash rate only took a 4% hit in performance too (~50 MH/s to ~48 MH/s).

For mining eth you want to use new team red miner 0.8.0 B mode, 1260mhz Core clock, 725mv. And memory 900.
And use Hiveos for mining, its so much better than windows 10 from what I have heard from people who mine.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm just mining it in the background on my PC, so I'm not switching the OS. I am looking into mining rigs, so I'll keep that in mind. I'll let you know how the team red miner goes when I get it set up.

@@acrazzyperson8849 just make sure to monitor the Memory Temp when mining, as normal gpu core temp is always going to be lower.
The RX 5700xt memory temps can be high, i would aim to keep them around 80c or lower if at all possible.
GPUs are overpriced for getting into mining imo. I would just wait it out and have fun mining on your one gpu inside your pc, but again, make sure your memory temps dont go 90c+ as you dont want to ruin your card for a few $ in mining profits.
MSI afterburner will show memory temps and i think the amd drivers will as well.

@@acrazzyperson8849 in my opinion, its not worth buying any 4gb cards unless you can get them for under $30USD and in 100% working condition if you are only going to use them for mining.
The profitability is so low that you are better off, again just my opinion, placing a preorder on the new 3060ti cards and getting those as they are relevant for gaming, hold their value well and are efficient on mining.
so if you are going to put anything into mining, i would place preorders on the new 3060ti cards and wait the 1-3months for them to come in.
i have a 4gb card i was playing around with, there is not much you can mine honestly and if your electric is any higher than $0.10c/kwh its not worth putting your time into it.

    Here to report my results:
Games is FFXV (on Steam, the one with worst Denuvo) at average presets, tried running for half an hour. With your configuration, I got 40 - 55 fps, temps maxed out at 65C, fan at 37%, core power draw 100W. With default configuration I usually get 55 - 75 fps, temps 75C, fan at 60% (jet engine territory) and core power draw 160W.
The frame rate is little low for my taste and introduced some stutter, but perhaps I'll get used to it, the +50W power saving alone is huge, not to mention way better, chilly temperature. Thanks a lot, cheers 🍻!
