@@laurenj432there is so much more ((important)) ((meaningful)) things said in this interview aside from that 2.5 second tidbit. This is a beautiful interview with an idiotic title.
It’s not in any capacity…it’s related to the video and it got your attention, not sure what else you want. Had the tittle been anything else might’ve never even clicked and left this message… two options: 1. Make a tittle that meets your standard and gets no views 2. They have catchy tittle that gets your attention allowing those like you to leave their comment. I think option two is the better choice…
When he literally said in the interview that he didn't want Ariana the "popstar" to be his Glinda and yet the media is still using that to milk views. It's sad.
John Chu and his family are treasures. His father runs Chef Chu’s Chinese restaurant in Sunnyvale, CA and my family and I have been going there since I was a kid. His brother, Larry, is incredibly kind. I was so excited when John was getting praised for Crazy Rich Asians and I’m even more excited for Wicked. John and his family are fantastic people ❤

She came back later and wrote a book and said she almost ended her life because of it and she also said she was being harassed on the show.
Honestly his films always feel so rich in color and in feeling. To quote Harry styles “it feels like a movie.” One of the few directors who makes me feel like a kid again.
That Constance could only get through a few takes of "You'll never be enough" hits so much harder knowing more about what she was going through at the time.
6:20 That line has traumatized so many people most especially Asians that I could understand why Constance could only power through 3 takes for the scene at max. Tears immediately went out of my eyes just watching the clip alone. Gut wrenching
Hearing that ... just is devastating. But what I personally realized is that the very few people that have said that to me have also been abusers. And nobody's. You are enough.
@@marsb7not to be rude towards what you went through, but Latin American is not a race (or ethnicity), but phrasing like that sounds like saying it is. It just means one was born in a country in the region of Latam. We all have different races and backgrounds in here, including White, like your mother in law. Gisele Bündchen is White, Samuel Nascimento is Black, Eunice Baía is Native American, Valentina Zenere is White, Pyong Lee is East Asian… They’re all Latin American.

What a beautiful interview. Jon M. Chu has directed all of my favourite movies and I didn't even know. He's definitely my favourite director! I can't WAIT to see Wicked! It comes out the week of my birthday!
If it had a theatrical release I definitely feel it would have brought the generations together. It was a movie that had a little something for everyone to relate to and great cultural representation

For those complaining about the title, the whole point is to title it something that will make people interested enough to click. I would more than likely NOT have clicked if it were titled anything else since I had no idea who this man was and now I’m very glad that I did. I’m sure there are other videos or articles more aptly titled to his career if you’re interested in searching those up. This one is surely serving its purpose in garnering views.
Jon M. Chu is so humble, talented, and really down-to-earth. I love his movies, especially Crazy Rich Asians. I enjoyed this interview and learning more about his career. Thank you!
Underrated moment of the video: finding out Miley’s old video of her and her crew dancing to 4 Minutes was a reply to the step up cast 😂 I used to LOVE that video as a kid!
This is awesome. He’s breaking barriers! I love how The Rock gave him that reassurance. As a Pacific Islander I’m not surprised he did that he’s an awesome guy!!!
I had no idea Jon directed every movie that really captured my undivided attention! He really captures moments so beautifully. So talented. The title needs to be updated/reworked. He won me over with Crazy Rich Asians. There were 3 distinct scenes that pulled me in. One in particular, made me feel like I was in the scene. I was completely present and absorbed in the moment. I rewatched that movie multiple times, cuz I loved the story and wanted to relive how he transported me in. It was magical. I know he'll do the same with Wicked. I can't wait to see it!
So glad I watched this, I really want the best for this man, he seems so genuine, earnest and passionate. Best wishes to him and his future movie successes :)

That is true, but I only clicked on it because of that title, and found the whole interview interesting and that I learned something about him ❤
he directed wicked. he deserves it.
