I enjoyed watching this video. Turns out there were t hings about the lens flare that I never bothered to check out. Your videos are super informative as usual. Can't wait to see the next one.

Hi Tracy! I started doing this compositing tutorial and faced an issue. How can I connect more then one Chroma-keying nodes? When i do that, all black selection disappears.. Also setting composite for each chroma-keying doesn't help.

I think it depends what you need it to do. You can duplicate the backgrounds and plug in more chroma-keys, but you might be overwriting one layer with another as up plug them in.
I'd have to see exactly what you were trying to do to come up with a good solution.

Thanks, Tracy! Plugging in multiple backgrounds did not help. But i came up with a better solution - using Matte-Composite with Add mode in it. I just added Channel-Selectors for both Chroma-keys selecting Alpha channel and then connected them to the Matte Composite.
Overall, turned out pretty nice! Thanks a lot for the tutorial!

I have a question. You took a bit of the theme of the backgrounds, you could give me some advice on how to organize the work of making them, could you make a video about making various backgrounds and organize them, and import them into Harmony? or explain the process please

I definitely can once I get a bit further with my short film.
Short answer is to storyboard out what you need to do.
Make an inventory of the locations and make a list of everything you need with scene numbers as reference. Start with the broadest thing you can, like establishing shots so you can use it as reference for the rest. Reuse anything you can. Maybe you can just scale up your establishing shot and add detail for a close up- you don't necessarily need to redraw the whole thing from scratch. If you have a complex area with a lot of angles, you can make a map of where everything is to help with the perspective.
I'll be sure to make a list when I get into developing the background stuff more. :)

Nice, thanks. but, after painting all the backgrounds, I feel a bit afraid to make the layout of the scenes

Just back your stuff up and go for it. Be bold! Making mistakes is a great way to learn :) .

LOL. I will make sure to go for it, and if there are setbacks, well you have already said....Let´s make a lot of mistakes!!!!!

One more comp-ish question! How would you create the "Edge-rays" effect using just Harmony without extra plugins? I mean, something that looks like this - th-cam.com/video/Cp3iJfiCeew/w-d-xo.html
I know you also used turbulence noise in your water scene tutorial, but here, i like the fact that rays go into the "turbulence" kinda cloud and are being effected by its changes.
I think it also would be cool to put the beams sourse in perspective 3d space, so to have the actual depth for the beams.

You can just use gradients and make a bunch of beams if you want to. For fake 3D I'll usually just do a back layer and a front layer. combining 3D and 2D is always a headache.
