Swamiji, You are correct, but to give yourself proof: Swaminaryan Bhagwan 1st yagna in ShikShapatri is sloka 11 and 12. My devotees shall never kill.... even a lice. Why? It is SOLEY for attainment of Moksha. In short, Per Swaminarayan Bhagwan, there is no Moksha if one kills animals for food or sacrifice. Ref: Swaminarayan Scripture: "Vachanmrut" Gadadha Pratham 69. In this vachanmurat, it was said that Vedas allowed violence to curtail the habits, not to grow it. Mover over, dharma, Aarta, Kama can be attained by path of violence, but non-violence is Solely for MOKSHA. This is is your proof that you should convey... Swamiji in more in depth. In Hindu scripture such as Shrimad Bhagvatam… It says the whole supply chain… Butcher, transporter, seller and consumer are all sinners. Also, explain in terms of "amount of pain"; meaning a animals are sentient beings; where as the lower life forms being bacteria, plants etc.. do not have the same senses/perception. Therefore, there is a limit for not do do like( killing of animals for food and sacrifice) vs violence that is being done as part to "survive", like growing crops, driving, breathing etc... that offset is done by more bhakti, charity etc... So to discourage those who argue that "even plans have lives"; whom have no basis for this question, only to stir the conversation. Also, non-violence does not mean cannot defend one self, family, community and country. Those are a must in order to preserve vegetarian lifestyle, and so that the satvic Hinduism sects can survive. The time is running out to make India/Bharat towards a meat free India, else the butcher shops will encroach the temple premises in years to come. Hindu Leaders, should get together and Unite the Hindu masses ( regardless of Itsa-Dev) they follow, and unite for Vegetarian lifestyle(why? becasue needed for Moksha/ attainment for Bhagwan) being preached all over India/.Bharat. How dare Delhi airport be allowed to keep duty free liquor shops open? Does it not dis-respect Santos/Sadhus/Gurus etc who have come past and present? Hindu panths/sects should not fight for who's Bhagwan is greater. As the fundamentals are the same being rooted in non-violence, truth, penance ( tap; self-restraint), pure bhakti. So each hindu should be shoulder to shoulder on this very principles. Please join the cause towards Meat Free Bharat. Please convey to your Gurus/Acharya etc, and other Hindu sects to unite towards this mission. The battle for Bharat has always been between veg vs. non-veg lifestyle. If Bharat is to remain the "land of Sages" and "land of Moksha"; we MUST unite towards these fundumental goals. Else, will be too late.
