Don't let youtube beat ya down Rob, these videos amaze, entertain, inspire and push others to get out there n do it themselves, at least for the experience. I've learned so much from you and your wife with all of your amazing and informative videos!
I was 19 min into this video last night when it just stopped and said "content unavailable." Not sure what the heck can cause a video of a guy hobby venturing in the back country struck down. I'm glad you were able to repost!
Rob, try not to let the dreaded ever changing algorithms get you down too much because there are so many of us who really appreciate the films you make.
@johnandgrace2361 Yep, in the state of Tasmania, all gold and other valuable minerals are owned by the King, you know that fella Charles in England, basically dumb legislation by crappy Tazzy policy which could be fixed, like every other state in Australia
I’m a 65 year old female living in the US. I’ve never hunted for gold in my life but because of your videos I can throw out terms like overburden and quartz stringer with the best of them! 😂
My husband and I appreciate the effort you go to in creating your videos. We find them inspiring, educational & visually beautiful. Hope you don’t quit making them Rob as we won’t quit watching. Many thanks Michael & Gjenie Qld, Australia
I always watch your videos with my mum on her tv, which doesn't allow her to leave comments. We check every day for new videos, so hope to see many more in the future. I have been instructed to leave a comment letting you know how much she loves your videos and seeing the Tassie bush again. Cheers
Viewing from LA.. what on earth could TH-cam find objectionable? Keep going.. so many of us live vicariously through your videos, and those of Levi.. Best
My favourite films of yours are the expedition ones like Jane River, Western Arthur’s. Ones that dig in deed to sharing your love for Tassies nature & wild places👏🏻☺️
Like a previous commenter I`m getting to old and unfit to hike anymore so its a bit of a highlight watching your videos into the West. I used to work at Savage and always wondered what some creeks held secret
0:55 Your content Rob is by far the most entertaining and interesting on TH-cam. From the way you construct to music overlay - superb. History you share is also fantastic matey. Keep at it .
I don't know why TH-cam is giving you a hard time, but I haven't seen a video of yours that I haven't loved watching!! Thank you for your content Rob!!
Love the, hike in, filming and editing and of course all the gorgeous gold. There'd be a lot of sad people if you give up the tubing. Your a ray of sunshine yourself.
As per usual you have my thumbs up and a comment to make sure you'll be able and willing to keep finding these beautiful pieces of gold and show us your amazing yourneys!
Keep it up Rob, even though for me the gold vids are a bit boring, I do prefer the bush walking ones more. But the vids are great for showing off what TAS has to offer
Rob brother like i tell Levi all the time you are both Extraordinary man. I like the quote that either yourself or Levi said. THE GOLD IN THE GROUND ISN'T THE REAL TREASURE BUT MAKING LIFELONG MEMORIES WITH YOUR BEST MATE SURROUNDED BY NATURE.
Love watching Rob scratching away at the rocks and finding even the tiniest bits of gold. His videos are 100% more entertaining and interesting than some of the rubbish shown on TH-cam. All the finds from his in ventures in such cold and inhospitable places are helping Rob to live the life he has dreamed of together with his wife an family.
You still get my vote for the absolute best in cinematography, background music, and realism of any TH-camr on the net, Bravo, Mate, and thanks for taking us all along...
Loved the video. It seems like your close up camera is heaps clearer on this one... I detect but I'd love to get into some sniping one day. Looks like a lot of fun..!👍🏽
Hello Rob, my son is a sophomore in HS right now and we have been talking about his future alot and what he may want to do in the future. He likes working with his hands, nature, seclusion, animals, hiking, camping etc. Because of YOUR videos, im prettys sure hes leaning towards geology or at least a geological background. I just wanted to say Thank You for making great content, clean and admirable work ethic in your videos. They have helped a young man in making a decision about his future. Keep up the good work.
Robo at the 26th minute mark that is your source of gold. Its a pinch point of quartz that was carrying gold. It shed right there and has been pounded over the years into smoothies. Next time you come across that collect that quartz crush it down to powder and pan it it, you might get a surprise. Well done mate, great vid.
Great video Rob, you are one of the best content creators on TH-cam, mate, and I'm not just saying that. The wife and I will be in Tassie in early November for our wedding anniversary and would love to catch up for a beer and a yarn if you're available. Roger
Love to see the bush and creek. It's just like a lot of NZ. Love your videos. The Calling Hills I long to set foot in the hills again, Just to hear a Kea’s far cry. Or the sound of a breeze, Through the tall native trees, As it musters the clouds ‘cross the sky. I would like to drink from a cold mountain stream, And hear the sound of the water falling. The soft rattle of leaves, As they fall from the trees, And the echo of Bell Birds calling. I must go and camp in the hills again, Pitch the tents and make billy’s of tea. Boil water from the river, With spoonful's of sugar, And the leaves from a Kanuka tree. I love to sit quiet in the twilight, As the burning sun sinks out of sight. While the sky fades to grey, And the day crawls away, As it drags in the cold creeping night.
Love this no one will do this like you man 😊 keep up the good work and maybe sometime i can come give you a hand and teach you some tricks from the usa
I’m really sorry to hear that your content hasn’t been pushed much my partner and daughter came across you channel a few months ago and we absolutely love you content my daughter call you our Tassie mate my partner is from Tassie and we are heading down in January and my daughter asked the other day dad do you think we will see our tassie mate. Keep up the beautiful work
If you and Levi ever come to California, I live in the county that gold was discovered and made California a state. Could show y'all a few good creeks around here
Rob , yt doesnt want people to make lobgform vids as that will cause people to think more instead of have goldfish brain's. Thank you my friend for taking me along on your gold hunts. Tanzania has stellar gold creeks and waterways.
I can't believe TH-cam can't see what awesome videos you put out! Are they blind!? Please keep on making them Rob, and we'll keep tuning in to watch them and be transported into the wonderful place you live. Thanks for sharing.
Great work Rob keep up the good work mate , I'm a interstate truck driver (syd-melb) you keep me entertained when I'm out on the road in a parking bay of course..
I'm just an old country boy from the foothills of the Appalachian mts in alabama. Wish I had the opportunity to do what you do. Who else is from the south that watches these videos
I bout fell backwards out of my chair when I heard you say it's been hard for you to find the motivation to keep making videos.. I can only imagine how hard TH-cam can make it for someone with all the rules and guidelines and what not. I just wanted to tell you that you make very entertaining vids. I only have a few channels that I really enjoy watching and can't stop once I get started watching. I'm so envious of you man and darn jealous. Where I live there is no gold. Only native American artifacts and it's illegal to search for them. I would give anything to be able to spend just one weekend finding a little gold like you do.. I'm 48 and it's definitely something I wish to do before my time is up. Keep making these videos please. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Take care brother.
Enjoy your content. The photography is A+,the scenery spectacular, an overall the next best thing to being there. Hope you continue to make more videos. From Idaho, USA
I very much enjoy you videos! You take me places that I know that I will never get to see! Please don't stop! The way you put these videos together and pick the music to complement the enjoyment of watching them! Hug the little one for me!! 🤗 Hi to the boss of you both, you wife!
If I was 50 years younger I might even try it. Trouble is, I’ve been to Tassie and I found the water just above iceberg temperature. I used to pan a bit but due to work and my back gave it away. Keep going regardless of certain obstacles. 👏👏🙏🇦🇺
Love your videos Rob! On both channels. Reminds me of the adventure shows I use to watch when I was a kid. Refreshing to see a small bastion of freedom still left in the world. Please keep sharing. Your life is amazing!!
Thank you for taking us to some of the most amazing places in Tasmania that we could only dream of seeing. My partner and I have watched your videos for some time now and look forward to watching for many years to come.
What an amazing stretch of river that is. The old timers worked the banks, slopes & no doubt as much of the overburden at low water levels & still it keeps giving up its treasure. Well done Rob , an excellent return for your effort. I absolutely look forward to your (& Levi's) videos of the incredible bush that you have the privilege of being in. 👍.
That decomposed quartz you were digging out of at ~27:00 looks like it's chalk full of gold. You should see if you can chase that seam inland, and I don't know how claiming works or if it's even possible there, but claim it if you can!
Rob, i may be 58 and a little bent here and there, but yrs of rugged terrain hiking and decent health, i would love to have 1 wk bivouac on a creek like that! Oh, i know the supplies i would need, and the approximate weight, and still confident enough, so i would love a 1 wk shot! 😉😂😂 Thanks for the tag along!
I love your Chanel Rob. Your way of sharing an adventure is second to none, you make us feel like we are there with you in the moment. Much love from South Africa! Keep doing what you are doing
I love your videos! Your channel is my absolute favorite! Between your cinematography, editing, and your voice work, the videos are so amazing! Great job!

Hey TH-cam - stop punishing Rob. He makes great videos and expends a lot of energy getting the raw footage. Please treat him with respect.

And the leaves from a Kanuka tree.
I love to sit quiet in the twilight, As the burning sun sinks out of sight.
While the sky fades to grey, And the day crawls away,
As it drags in the cold creeping night.
It would be good to be up there again, singing songs by the campfire’s glow.
To have tears in My eyes, As I watch the smoke rise,
And feel the chill of the fresh fallen snow.
Hearing tall stories told, By good friends, young and old,
And laughing at jokes we all know.
It was fun spending nights in the hills, ‘neath a sky full of stars and the moon.
Off to sleep in a tent, When the long day is spent,
With sweet dreams, daylight comes, but too soon.
Yes, I'd love to go back to the hills again. They call to Me here in My bed,
“Come and watch with the dawn As a new day is born,
It’s a Beautiful, Heart warming sight.
Come camp and explore In these far hills once more”.
And I’ll go again, Yes,
I just might.
