- Today, I’m making a serious attempt to ditch the fall and winter clothes I never wear anymore to streamline my life.

Thanks for making another clothing declutter video! I highly recommend making a detailed list of what your personal style is right now, and focus on your “style words”. Then, go through your clothes again and toss EVERYTHING that doesn’t meet your current style vision. And, get rid of duplicates. Not your color? Toss. Not your pattern? Toss. Not your skirt length? Toss. Etc. Have a sentimental clothing piece? Take a picture of it, then toss. ❤
Oh my god I freaking love this. Will do!
@@dbalemon I know it seems counter intuitive to buy new clothes WHILE you are saving and paying down debt. HOWEVER, you are definitely in a transitional phase in your life where style and tastes have grown, and no longer identify with your past self. I understand because I am EXACTLY there as well. Maybe look at the clothes you like if only___, and try to find its replacement. Once per month/every 2 months or so, allow yourself to replace key essential pieces that better reflect who you are today. Like the black leather skirt (you only need 1) and just find a longer version. Sell, or donate and write off the donation to go towards funding the key items.
i love your videos. you are 100% real and honest. and thats truly why i think your channel grew so fast
Love this channel! I find these videos very satisfying…to be able to get rid of the noise and just keep the things we love.
Soft Goat has the exact black sweater you are looking for ^^ LOVE them! They have everything cashmere! Love your videos!!
So funny, “it’s fine” is what you said a lot. Wondering how you’d feel if you only kept what you really like. Same as how you felt with the sorrel boots.
I am struggling with a lot and endless shopping has always been my go to. Thank you for these videos
Same!!
The black, misshapen Naked Cashmere dress. Let this be the last winter you wear it. This winter will be a lean one for purchases due to the debt payoff that you’re doing so well with, instead it’s a great time to really take note of what you absolutely love wearing and how those items make you feel. This way you’ll know where to put your money when the end of season sales are on, so you can buy for next winter. Fewer pieces of quality clothing that you really say ”Hell yes!” to, rather than just “It’s fine for now, it’s OK.” You have a great selection of coats and the Fendi boots are phenomenal.
This is so satisfying! Thank you!
Thank you!
Nice continuation, DBAL...
Decluttering not only creates space physically in your home but also creates psychological space to process, grow and help others all the while not expecting any reimbursement, perhaps the most satisfying aspect of giving: Expecting nothing back, except the internal satisfaction of giving to others. I have also found that I need to go through a decluttering on back-to-back days: I usually end up cleaning out more, but I also find there is one article or item I want back.
BEST...
For your black cashmere dress, try taking it to a dry cleaner and asking them to stretch it, it can help the garment return to its original shape. Certainly worth a try if you love it!
I did not know this, thank you.
Love a good declutter 👍
Love your style! I would consider keeping the red blouse for the days you feel like a pop of color. With a red lip, it would be stunning on you. Really enjoying your content!
Elle, I love following you! You have seriously inspired me to be better with money and go on my own financial journey/transformation. Love seeing your clothes and your style! Do you have a collection of designer handbags that you’d consider doing this type of video for? Also would you consider doing a video on what skincare products you use/your routine?
Loved the video ❤
You look so stylish and classy 😍
Love the pet hair on everything!😆
Haha I have a lint roller on hand at all times.
Also- please link nude heels and other daily wear items for shoes, work attire, casual, etc. Love your style!! ❤
Instead of “I definitely have to have these [Jimmy Choo boots] cleaned up”, I’d encourage you to see about cleaning them at home! Unless they need repairs, you can breathe new life into them easily with some leather care!
✨ I'd love to see a video of how you match & style your clothes together ✨ 👀
Good idea 😊💛
Ok, like watching cooking videos, I’m now inspired to get up and go through the clothing. Jewel tones like your tissue weight turtleneck look great on certain skin tones, however, manufacturers don’t make them on a regular basis. Colors go in and out of style, so you need to hang on to pieces that work for you. I want your red top! ❤ That color looks great on me. I had a flowy dress that color, and I felt fabulous in it. Took me a long time to get used to the idea of wearing red (Didn’t want to be a Scarlett O’Hara…). Love, love, love that melange dress! Anything melange, also your animal print. I believe every wardrobe needs at least one of each of those. We pronounce Sorrel like the weed that grows around, with the accent on the first syllable. They are outdoors hikey-type footwear, down-to-earth. Don’t want to be like, “I’m headed to Tarjhay, then to Chez Macier and Jaques Pennais boutiques at the mall.”
Great video, you have some beautiful pieces! +1 in regards to the fine comments, if you pulled out the pieces you called “just fine”, would you miss them given everything else you were clearly excited to have? Next video, we expect to see you wearing the Fendi boots! 😂
Love all your content! Where is your dress from? I came upon your channel and just happened to have read the Ramit Sethi book also!
Hello! Great thought process during your declutter! The process can be so emotional and you powered through. 💪🏼 Do you have a Poshmark? I’m sure you would sell it all in a snap on that platform! Enjoying your videos and your pure honesty. Extremely refreshing. Sending positive vibes from CT. ✨
Connecticut! You’re basically my neighbor😊. I do have a Poshmark, but I find it so time-consuming to sell that. A lot of these items will likely be donated. Moving forward I’m going to try to be very limited and mindful on what I purchase.
@@dbalemon might be good to go the consignment route then and try to get a little bit of cash. Definitely easier than Poshmark to just do one appointment and see what they will take
YOUR CAT IN THE BACKGROUND DRAGGING ITSELF ALONG THE COUCH HAS ME 💀💀💀
Haha he’s crazy 💛
Ok, the Gucci boots are NICE…… BUT! The Fendis are STUNNING 😍
They are. It’s definitely a purchase I don’t regret.
You have such a great style! That floral embroidered shirt that you wore in your first video, where is it from?
That long blazer looks like a topper jacket..I love topper jackets and have a few but I have downsized in the number of them
A topper jacket! I knew it had a name.
Colours you said you love but not on you, I had the same issue until I realized that those bright vivid colors are not in my colour pallet, they're for 'winter' suited people. Less saturated colors would be better for you. So I let go of my vivid color items although I loved them and have more soft onrs but not light like pastels.
Very good tip 💛
Do you have a link for the white Ralph Lauren button down shirt you love?
Where is the dress you’re wearing from?😊
Hi! Would you tell us why are you getting rid of Stuart Weizmann over the knee boots? Do you think this boots are not trendy anymore? Thank you!
Now that I think about it, it’s partially because I feel like they’re not trendy anymore, but I could be entirely wrong on that. I also didn’t wear them enough to justify keeping them.
Over the knees boots are no longer trendy especially those that look like long socks. However not everyone follows trends, I still see some people wearing sunny jeans even though they have been out of fashion for ages 😊
🖤
Thank you for your videos! Some outerwear looks like it wouldn’t button or zip… like the BR vest and the one right after it. You only wear them open?
This is actually a really good comment. I never even thought to consider if they fully button up or close. I always wear my jacket open unless they have a tie and even then I generally tie it in the back. I’m not sure why I do that.

As someone who watches your channel for no buy and low buy content. I struggle with you going through your clothing as far as mentioning brands and how much you paid. By telling us something is inexpensive (to you) doesn't help the average income people relate.... I think you could focus more on color, style and fit. SAYING, YES, I will declutter or No, I am keeping. If something has lasted a long time that's great, but your giving people who are trying to change spending habits FOMO. Not being a hater, just think these type of additions to the video turn people off.
