I'm SO glad I found this video! One of their very best tunes! I was a HUGE Stryper fan back in the '80's. For me, it was Stryper, Van Halen and REZ. This video REALLY cheered me up! I posted it on facebook ... just EXCELLENT!!
Stryper is the First Concert I saw - and it was the Black and Yellow Attack Tour - and it was awesome! I was young and i smell weed from the audience and that was funny.
Indeed, allthough we don't share the same opinion, I really respect yours. I am glad that we can have this discussion without losing respect for eachother.
This was The Late Show, a FOX program originally hosted by Joan Rivers until she was fired by the network. Interim hosts in the summer of 1987 included Shawn Thompson (seen here) who played Corny Collins in the original "Hairspray", and Arsenio Hall who went on to become the show's permanent host.
Not sure why people are trying to convince me I can't like all of the bands being mentioned at the same time. I dig Metallica. I dig Stryper. I dig guitar rock. I don't care what any of them are wearing when they perform, or if they are Christian or evil, straight or gay. Do they SOUND good. In my opinion, Stryper does, and Michael Sweet's voice could always make the hair on my arms stand on end. Thanks for posting.
Stryper will Always be My Favorite Christian Metal Band. These Guys are the Real Deal. They Live there Lives for Jesus. Thanks Michael, Robert, Tim and Oz for Being Solidiers Under Gods Command.
This was before the FOX network & the Arsenio Hall show. I remember this. They were in the TV listings but their name was ommited in the intro. They only mentioned:' and we have a christian rock band, wich should be good'. No playback. Vocals sound great.
I saw them playing in Madrid, Spain, recently and they are really good, they are rock stars indeed. One day I went seing a concert of FireHouse and I realized that few bands are one step further, they play with real TALENT, passion and quality. Firehouse is one, and STRYPER for sure too.
St. Paul was once a skeptic. He would later say that what he once thought of as foolish was glory to him (1 Corinthians 1:18, that is in the New Testament if you care to look it us sometime). Maybe one day you'll feel the same way. Peace to you friend. :)
This was the Joan Rivers Show when it was on FOX. They fired her and had a bunch of guest hosts until the show was ultimately canceled. I remember staying up to record this. LOL!
The remarks here are so funny, it reminds me of when I was a child. A baptist preacher told me rock music was satan's music, because it has the beat of African voodoo drums. Funny stuff. He said that's why they don't dance. I listen to all genres of music, and I don't feel it has affected my walk with God.
Yeah they came to Cleveland twice on that to her once with TNT and a hurricane and the second time with loudness man they sounded so good I couldn't believe how much better they were than some of the arena asks I was paying high-dollar to go see
david jones They were with White Lion here in Missouri on that tour when I seen them. Would’ve much rather have seen Hurricane. Seen Loudness open for Motley on Theatre of Pain.
because he wanted people to be able to see him play. he didn't want to be hidden behind the kit like every other band. Just to be different. Kelly Keagy of Night Ranger also sits sideways.
@TheFryingFish He is perfect, and He did create us as beings who have a free will to choose to follow Him, or to not follow Him. He will judge us on what decisions we made with what we knew and whether we had been given the truth enough to understand it...He's not condemning someone for what they don't know.
Hey Tonyr67,I checked out your vid of you improvising on the drums, and I just wanted to say that it was pretty impressive, and you were only improvising, that's pretty damn good.
@TigertailzBezerk Stryper does talk about sin in Soldiers Under Command..."through Him, without sin, we have victory..." They don't go into what is sin, and what isn't. I'm sure they figured that it was for each one to work out their salvation with fear and trembling, as it says in the word. Also, they handed out the word of God at their concerts, so kids would read and understand what sin was directly from God's word, and from the promptings of the Holy Spirit, our Wonderful Counselor.
haven't seen Stryper live, but best band i've seen live was Overkill during their Under The Influence tour. and i'm not a fan of theirs, but they just did such a good job.
Because some of the words in the original language have ambiguous or difficult to translate meanings, debates over the correct interpretation occur. For instance, the word used in the masoretic text at Isaiah 7:14 to indicate the woman who would bear Emmanuel is alleged to mean a young, unmarried woman in Hebrew, while Matthew 1:23 follows the Septuagint version of the passage which uses the Greek word parthenos, translated virgin, and is used to support the Christian idea of virgin birth.(wiki)
My favorite bands are Megadeth, Anthrax, Metallica, Motley Crue, KISS & Stryper!!! Am I the only person in the world that likes ]v[egadet]-[ & Styrper???
Oh they're definitely singing but there is added extra harmony parts during the chorus and hook. It's more than just three-part harmony and there's nothing wrong with tracking specially during that time had to sound like the album there was so much production that you had to have tracks or keyboard player to do a lot of their stuff especially in the God we trust album live I remember when to hell with the devil came out I got it with its original picture. I can't even remember but I know ther
@lgrabarek Well said! I'm an atheist and I absolutely LOVE Stryper!! Great music is great music. Period. To Hell with the CRITICS! Okay, well not literally of course! I don't believe in hell. I've been listening to Stryper since 1984. I've outgrown religion but not Stryper. :)
Vegas01973 That's awesome. I was a christian in high school and all my acdc loving friends used to laugh at stryper. Pretty cool that you liked them for their sound. It would be good to go back in time and I'd introduce you to them, haha.
@tylermorin1000 ya they are, i have seen em live and watched many vids of em as well and I am pretty sure they are singin, stryper doesnt lip sync they are 2 good and actually I am goin on a road trip to go see them tomorrow with Slaughter+ lynch mob
No on the break down there that was all stryper earlier on the course they use a harmonizing machine so they can get more full sound but all bands do that they are totally a great live band and they are all live
Uma coisa que pra mim valeu apena ... foi um suporte pra marmita q na hora de comer vc encaixa no volante... parece q não mas dá uma diferença enorme...
@mrv1967 I've seen that sort of attitude in concert, but I think it's just him trying to perform...I have seen him more recently, since his wife passed away, and I don't see that attitude any longer. With all the success, it does affect people, but if that's the biggest thing that he's had to deal with, then I'm glad the Lord seems to have dealt with him regarding that.
@opie1kanobie But everybody has heard about Jesus and have made a decision already to believe in him or not. There might be a few places where people have not heard but it is some faraway third world country somewhere. Check out Bride's song Everybody knows my name.
The original text can be found in the dead sea scrolls."These manuscripts generally date between 150 BCE to 70 CE" wikipedia. Scholars agree that the introductory and concluding sections of the book, the framing devices, were composed to set the central poem into a prose "folk-book". Not a book of fact,a lesson to inspire and teach the faithfull the ways of the lord. When you claim the bible to be fact you are missing the point. Man and the dino's were never alive at the same time FACT
man, i just want you to know that i love you, and it makes me tear up just seeing you guys fight over wether God, is real I hope you both find Faith in Jesus before the end, and i too need to straighten my life out as well, because i'm not perfect either
I know scientist are only trying to give us an explanation, but are at a loss as well when encountered with certain phenomenas,I just think that it's all part of a master plan that only GOD understands. And with that being said my friend I'm glad that we can sit here and respectfully debate one another unlike some other users. And another thing even though I do not agree with you I still respect your point of view.
You have have a good point, but it justs seems that everything from the most simplest to the most complex life forms are to intricate and complex to believe that they came about from a"big bang".Scientist are going on theory and assumption ,How can they explain how the cerebral cortex originated in all mammals? And how would the big bang be responsible for such an inticate part of the brain that is responsible for memory, perception, conciousnes, ect.?I think there is more quetions than anawers.
@mrcooldude964 As long as they love God then thats all that matters, I am a Metal Head into Ozzy,Dio, and all of it but ive been a Christian all my life and the music does not affect my relationship with God at all. Metal music is not a sin, The lyrics can definitely be but Stryper dont have a one song that has anything to do with sin. I found God through their music - No joke. I was born a Christian but their lyrics made me understand what I have to do and how I need to live. They saved me
I AM A HUGE..

I'm SO glad I found this video! One of their very best tunes! I was a HUGE Stryper fan back in the '80's. For me, it was Stryper, Van Halen and REZ. This video REALLY cheered me up! I posted it on facebook ... just EXCELLENT!!
Say what you will, in their time, these guys were at the top of their genre.
Stryper is the First Concert I saw - and it was the Black and Yellow Attack Tour - and it was awesome! I was young and i smell weed from the audience and that was funny.

I just LOVE Stryper! Cool songs and positive lyrics that cheer me up and out of a dark day!

This was before the FOX network & the Arsenio Hall show. I remember this. They were in the TV listings but their name was ommited in the intro. They only mentioned:' and we have a christian rock band, wich should be good'.

Intoxicating melodies...love this song!
because he wanted people to be able to see him play. he didn't want to be hidden behind the kit like every other band. Just to be different. Kelly Keagy of Night Ranger also sits sideways.

xJuleeBeth xJoleeBeth It is these days. The songs are mostly rock songs now, and the bigger churches are like a rock concert. Pretty good actually!

Wow an actual live performance, usually you have to play to a track
Oh they're definitely singing but there is added extra harmony parts during the chorus and hook.
