A lesson for those heading into this part of the DLC: DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THESE TRAINERS, they are competitively constructed so going about this casually is rough
I lost to Crispin and failed Amarys's trial. But I got them the second time around. Using only terrarium caught Pokemon for Drayton was hard, I had to use up a lot of my rare candies to get them to level 80 and fix their moves, but I did win with them. I hadn't EV trained any of the terrarium mons so I'm surprised I won with them at all.
Now that I've started the DLC for my Scarlet version though, Drayton's trial will be a lot harder. I didn't have the rare candy stores that I do in Violet. I rarely play Scarlet so I missed a lot of the events such as the Mismagius Halloween event, the Blissey event twice, and I haven't even gotten my Dialga and Palkia yet in Scarlet. But I have the Pokemon I used in Violet to get them and my second Miradon there to use on Palkia.
Did this same challenge for my playthrough. My team ended up being Root Beer the Minior Primo the Primarina Sigmund the Metagross Spekks the Krookodile Emmalilly the Hydrapple Adarugreis the Charizard ended up lovin every second of hunting them, and besides Primo (Who's cry is annoying beyond all else), I greatly value the squad
I got absurdly lucky during this dlc, I found 4 shinies naturaly (one of which beiing a Mudkip) I then hunted 2 more, a Milcery from the event outbreaks and a Froakie with a shiny sandwich in a union circle. This meant I rolled up to Drayton's challenge in style lol
You can actually fight Draytons team with anything in your PC box. He states specifically that the trainers from his challenge must be foughy with pokemon from the dome. I would know, cuz I used only 2 scrafties from the dome to do the challenge. I had a thought that I could use my shiny Chadalure, so I put it into my team and kicked Drayton's butt with it.
Proper, a lesson for you, save before a shiny pokemon, in case it dies to a move or something, just close and open ur game (home button, y) shinies still there, might be different location tho
I love how in Indigo Disk I've ended up using pokemon I've never used before since I just felt like hunting for them. The first hunt I did was Duraludon, and since then my shiny team has expanded to Archaludon, Flygon, Meowstic, Alchremie, Pyroar and Rotom Wash. I hunted specifically for Dura, Flygon, Rotom and Meowstic but Alchremie and Pyroar showed up randomly to join the fun.
There is no way this ends here. You can use the new Book you get from the professor, depending on your version of course, and it says "this isnt the time or the place right now". Or something similar. There needs to be a place where you can use the book and it triggers something. It has to
@@inthedrought2545 Those DLC were already pricey enough. They had the same price as Phantom liberty for Cyberpunk. Thinking about that makes me genuinely upset. Those pokemon DLC are not worth this asking price
Adding on to the last part where you give Briar’s book to Sada (or Turo in Violet): Go back to the new pet of Area Zero and read the books on the desk. The professor writes about the encounter at the Crystal Pool!

@Jim-eg1gu And if you use Ogrepon in the fight against Carmine before you see Kiran too. She notices it, Kiran gets mad at you for using Ogrepon.

Gotta get a shiny Duraludon cause its evolved form is cool in blue. Not to mention it is a great Pokemon. Stamina is busted for a Steel/Dragon.
I got a second shiny Duraludon for that purpose. Found the metal alloy and Archaludon swept the competition
