Target's are tricky. I struggled a long time to find the right one. Now I use jute bags, filled with plastic baggs. They stop arrows great and are extremely cheap. But for a backstop, I actually bought a real archery curtain. Sometimes arrows stick in, but they don't pass through. However, when you make that perfect shot, when the arrow flies straight and with power, even the archery mesh doesn't stop them. I shoot 40# at 28", 50# at 32". You are extremely lucky to have such a big backyard to shoot in. It's safer and even if an arrow misses, there is no danger.
@@CharliesRunningArchery haha lol yeah cutting grass takes long. I can relate. That's why I told myself that I should rather cut grass twice another or atleast once a month before it gets too long because then it's really a mission to cut the grass. But one thing I noticed when the grass is very long is that when I do archery and I take a video. The grass gives the video a cool effect like being in nature.
Yeah, advice to people looking into archery curtains. They're meant to stop lower power bows or arrows that glance off targets. A decently-high power compound bow (like a 60lbs target setup ) will punch a hole in the net with so much speed the net won't even move. That's why if you set the curtain up make sure nobody EVER goes behind it. They are meant to stop the occasional stray, not protect people or property.
Are these targets abrasive on the arrows? Because I want to try and make straw targets like these. However the fact that you let the target swing free makes the impact of the arrows lighter on the target compared to if the target had to be mounted. Because I think the movement of the target releases some of the impact..if I make sense lol?
@@CharliesRunningArchery Hi Charlie, sorry if my question was confusing...Is that straw target abrasive on arrows? Is that straw target rough on the arrows?
Hi I’m Chris Tollet I’ve put dart archery videos on TH-cam darts on archery target sheet for people who want to try something new if there are bored type in dart archery on TH-cam

the distance between you and the target. pls show us, and put the cemera behind on the left side so that we can see more clearly i think its better that way.

Title misleading. He showed us how he made a target stand. I wanted to learn how to make my own mideivil target out of straw, twine, rope, or something. Guess a thrift store might have something
"DIY Ultimate TARGET for archery, crossbow, knife throwing". So what about the knife throwing slave? As a knife thrower, all I want to know is if archery targets made of straw can be used for knive throwing. You should not mention 'knife throwing' In the video title if you are not going to address this in the video.
I absolutely love it. What are the straw circles you use for targets? I'm wondering if I can get them here.
I bought it from tercovnice.eu. It's some compressed straw. Not so good. Destroyed pretty quickly - I guess 2000 shots and it fell apart.
Very useful! You gave an idea to improve my own!
Made a whole frame so cool, didn't even though of that

And can you show how you made the straw target itself? Thank You in advance.
Sorry, I can’t. I bought it ready to shoot :)
@@CharliesRunningArchery Thank Yoy my friend. Happy archery.
All I really wanted to know was, where do you get the targets from?

It is kinda clickbait :( It is not about DIY Target, but about attaching an target you bought?) Great video about the construction though.
Sorry... it is really about the construction, yes.
