Hydrolock, short for "hydrostatic lock," is usually associated with water getting into an engine cylinder and seizing the engine. In motorcycling it occurs when fork oil stops the forks from moving.

Great job you do in your explanation the difference in the tipe of forks
Helpful video of what can go wrong if not paying attention when changing oil
And don't forget Beakmans World, still showing in other parts of the world, he was running along side Bill Nie.
Is this ok to pump a telescope fork while tightening its uper cover bolt???
Any fork can be pumped to bleed it with the cap in place while tight but not torqued correctly.
Sir kindly answer me
10w oil is unavailable in Pakistan, which oil will work smoother like 10 w in my ybr shock
Atf and 32 hydralic oil both r floped
Can we mix two or three oils to make exact 10 w oil????? Or any thing else okz guide me
Hi I've got a zx9r c2 just fitted all new seals and dust covers put my forks back together but the suspension is hard it goes down but comes back up really slowly what have I done wrong and ideas?
If it comes up very slowly indeed, is this from the oil viscosity or are the rebound adjusters not set correctly? You should have 6 complete turns from maximum to minimum. Check the range.

Thanks but if it wasn't for your TH-cam videos I'd probably of nackard my bike up or even ripped off by the garages like some of the guys I've spoken to so thanks to you I've been able to sort out mi bike 👍
I've just serviced the forks of my 99 sv650s and I put the oil (belray 15w) level at 130mm just as recommended by racetech since I swapped the original springs for some .90. The problem is that I can't compress the forks like Dave does in the video. The max I can get them to go compresswhen i push with all my strength is about 50-65mm which seems like not at lot? My manuel recommends to put the oil level at 110mm but I don't think adding more oil when i'm having trouble compressing them is gonna fix it. Could anyome lead me in the right direction?
The spring rate is fine and the oil weight and height is correct. Check the installed preload/spacer length. How much can you pull the forks up? Must be 25-30mm. If all is correct, install the forks and ride to see how much travel you use compared to known bottom out.
Helps me a lot man
I need my bike tuned
Ben şimdi bunu niye izledim aq.
