Tsonga is the best French tennis player I've seen in this century, by far. He's always made full use of his build, while giving amazing moments of finesse, no matter who the opponent. Hope to see him shine some more before he hangs up his boots and racquet!!

He was a set away from winning Wimbledon in 2016. Would have beat Berdych and Raonic had he got past Murray imo

@@lyndonchastain3181 Tennis matches don't work that way. If you play well against a certain player doesn't mean you will beat another opponent in the next round. Lol if that is how it works Nishikori should have won the US Open in 2014 after beating Raonic, Wawrinka and Djokovic back to back rather than getting whitewashed by Cilic in the final.
@@chamindujanith6337 Nishikori would never beat Federer in a slam so that analogy is stupid. All I want to know is when did Berdych beat Djokovic, Federer and Murray for a title? The guy won one Masters title in his career and it took him 5 sets against fucking Ljubicic to do it. Tomas couldn’t even touch Jos peak level. The biggest match of their career Jo won in straight sets(WTF 2011 SF).Also Zverev has a winning H2H against Federer so that pretty much destroys your argument 😂

08 tsonga just had a special touch
hell of a tennis player in his prime and a very likeable personality, a joy to watch when he’s on, am a big fan of his!
As a french tennis fan, he's my favorite player because he gave me so many goosebumps and good tennis memories !!
So he defeated a future world no1 player, and an ex no 1 player, a no.4 player and a no.3 player.
Out of all frenchmen he showed the biggest promise, which never came to fruition
He has the talent for sure. Just injuries and right in the prime of the "big 4" (counting murray since this was pre 2017)
@@TTGamingTrinh Murray was big 4 only in masters tournaments. In Wawrinka's prime he was as good if not better than Murray in Grand Slams.
His game is all or nothing...which is difficult to maintain for 7 matches

Nalbandian too. Two of the best that ever won a slam.
Tsonga deserved SO MUCH more than 2 Masters and 1 slam final. Much better player than Berdych or Ferrer in my opinion. One of the best serve and most powerful forehand ever. If only he had a better backhand, he would've won slams that's for sure (yeah I know, if my grandmother had wheels...)
*that being said, he has still won TWO Masters. Only the Big-4 and now Medvedev/Zverev have done better (for active players). Winning 2 masters is still a huge achievement but I still think he deserved at least 1 slam.
People talk a lot about AO 2008 and his match points against Djokovic in RG2012. But I still think his best chance to win a slam was Wimbledon 2016. He was CLEARLY the better player in the Quarterfinal against Murray. Still don't know how he lost that first set tie-break... He would have played Berdych in Semi and Raonic in Final... doable when we see how fast Murray destroyed them. Might also have thrown away a big chance in RG2015. That semifinal against Wawrinka was very close, he missed like 20 break points... it could have ended both ways. That sure doesn't mean he would've won the final against Nole but still, there was clearly an opening.
Had he beat Murray at Wimbledon 2016, he would have went all the way imo. 2008 AO Final was winnable too.
But tsonga choked after 2nd game of set 5. He was playing so bad after that.
At long last, this fantastic masterpiece!
if Tsonga would play before/after Djokovic-Nadal-Federer Era ,he would win Grand Slams.Jo had just to difficult draws : AO 2008 he had to win Nadal,Djokovic , Wim 2011 he had to win Federer,Nadal,Djokovic,French Open 2012 he had to win vs Djokovic,Federer,Nadal, in row.it is jsut to difficult.

otherwise Federer was already collecting big titles as early as 2003-2004
@@lotus630 yes.but Jo was able to win Grand Slam Matches vs one from Big 3.But it costs so much energy, than this is almost impossbile to win 2,3 such matches in row.

for example, 2011 Djokovic is obviously much better than 2008 Djokovic

the match to consider here was that against Andy Roddick , this was the first time i realized Tsonga has such a huge serve , he was very close to Roddick in terms of serving , the final match agaist nalbandian was one sided
