31:00 the little deals in the fuse is called an arc chute. they are on big fuses, contactors, and breakers. It dissipates the arc caused by breaking a circuit.
They protect you from ground... That's all. When you're working on a grounded circuit, like building voltage, that's what it helps with. As an electrician, i appreciate the diagnostic process yall go through and absolutely feel the joys of your successes with you!
The joke we always make about chasing an intermittent issue "intermittent issues are fun, a lot more fun if you mess with them til theyre permanent and easier to find" 😂
It doesnt always work like that, but man, if its a reasonable diagnostic path, given safety, etc, sometimes its the best way to go. 😂
Keep this channel going Kyle, it’s the most genuine I’ve seen and we’re all here for it. Don’t stop!!
It's your channel,
You can do what you want to!
I think this stuff is amazing.
And I'm NOT an electric car guy.
I personally love all of it, Tesla content is different but it's always great to learn new stuff, no matter what you're building, i'm all for it, car content is car content no matter of it's electric or gas
6:09 i love that guy "yup" very good friend and human and it shows seems fun
your videos from your 1st plaidessey were the reason i watch the rest of your content. i am and nerd and grew up a gearhead. love your content so much!
Lmfao "START DIAGNOSTING IT"!! 😅😂 @ 23:09 But damn Kyle, you're content is ALWAYS great 👍
31:00 the little deals in the fuse is called an arc chute. they are on big fuses, contactors, and breakers. It dissipates the arc caused by breaking a circuit.
definitely think about wearing proper safety boots along with the insulating gloves. they protect from shock also
They protect you from ground... That's all. When you're working on a grounded circuit, like building voltage, that's what it helps with. When you're working on an ungrounded system like a car or generator, they do (almost) nothing. (Certain circumstances they may help, but only if you're doing something VERY wrong.)
I enjoy all these Tesla tricks I'm learning. I'm sure it's only a matter of time till I need to know stuff about them. Thank you
I love the diversity of stuff you and Wyatt have going on 4 bangers, inline 6 2J, LS, Diesel, and electric!!!!!!! WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE!!!!!! Keep up the great unique content bruh!!!!!
I think You forgot about two rotaries
@@darekmistrz4364 damn your right just so much awesome shit.
Why did you say friends in Colorado instead of Brent at PFI Speed?
Was reading comments trying to figure out the same thing 🤔
Because he’s talking to his new viewers. He knows the OG watchers don’t care for this electric crap.
@@Adub86 He should take the time to explain to his new EV subscribers who PFI Speed is and not just call them his Colorado friends. 🤷🏼♂️
I called the fuse being blown as the reason for the power issue! Awesome that you got it working guys!
Kyle: we need a bigger shop. We’re running out of room
Also Kyle: buys another vehicle
He bought it quite a while
Ago
Actually Model X was bought before he started complaining about shop space
@@darekmistrz4364 yep, he's had it for quite some time now, just didn't have physical possession of it. Idk how long it sat for but it was a good while
I wasn't keen on the Tesla content, but you converted me! now i'm finding it really different and cool to watch, variety is the spice of life.
4 door civic shell would be a sleeper
You could build that probably from Model 3 Performance
Keep up the awesome range of content. E-Roy was what brought me to the channel. Love the builds, drags, and Tesla content.
19:16 "wot dat Wyatt doin?"
Wouldn’t call myself and “electric car guy” but have had the opportunity to drive all of them over the years. Knowing how quick they are I waited forever for content like this. Glad you’re doing unique builds for the fun of it not just for views 🙏‼️
It’s cool that you’re doing electric and gas stuff. Both are pretty sweet
Not to mention Wyatt's diesel truck 🤣 all bases covered
@@leonardwashington6456 Would be nice to have an LPG or CNG one for the super-combo
@@leonardwashington6456 even got the rotary, and a v8! truly jack of all trades
@@skate2freak898 and a jet boat, and an air boat, and seadoo's.. they got a little of everything for every type of viewer.
Wow I'm so proud of u. I remember when u guys used belts to tie down battery straps for a single cam to now working on Teslas and swapping over to Honda Odyssey Vans. It's amazing. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 It's truly amazing. You and Cleetus show the American Dream is still alive and available!!!! God bless America!!!! Only in the US can some dream and make it true !!!!❤❤
Like i said im not a huge fan of ev but i am a huge fan of your channel im gonna watch every video you guys do and im always guaranteed to enjoy keep on keeping on man dont ever quit
I was one of the people that came to your channel because of the Plaidyssey content. Love it and am 100% looking forward to the Model X Plaid conntent! I was tearing up when I saw you launching down the street. Congrats on getting it running!
Our friends in Colorado? That’s weird just say Brent, Jamie, whoever it is. We know them all.
Guys - this is my new favourite channel. Fascinating and exciting when the screens come to life! I saw an Old Sandy Munroe video about inspecting a Model S 100kwh Battery pack and they were wearing protection head to foot including a full face mask and prodding it with a length of wood. As if they were poking a tiger through the bars of a cage.... also great that Tesla allows engineers like yourselves to rent their vehicle software. Something else legacy auto won't do?
Ya know, I was gonna complain. But how about starting a Tesla racing series at the Freedom Factory? If Cleetus can kill all the Crown Vics and Rangers, Kyle can kill all the Teslas. I'd call it a win.
Not saying they couldn't try it, but I don't honestly think the freedom factory is enough track for a plaid, let alone 10-15 of them out there at the same time.
All good until someone wrecks and starts an unstoppable fire.
@@jerry4012 fair point, still be nice to see the EVs get demo derby'd somewhere tho.
@@jono6379 also fair. That needs to just happen in the public streets so the world can see the safety problems EVs really present.
Tesla derby
You keep doing you Kyle. I don't care what you work on because I enjoy watching all of your content...keep up the great videos!
Driving around before they mounted the brake lights. You can see them lighting up the inside of the vehicle up from the floor. Good thing Florida don't care what you drive on the road.
they just drove up and down their street. wasn't like they were driving around town.
@@sirmonkey1985 Your point is valid for this drive. But they do it all the time with different barely drivable vehicles. No brake lights means the cars behind you can hit you because you know no one ever texts while driving. Or eats while driving. I am the type of person that if I get them available, why not mount them?
Who ever is hating that’s there problem looking where u guys came from from building Hondas at a house to now a shop and why not is fun something different keep going bro good job 👏 I like it
FOLLOW YOUR HEART BOY.NOBODY ELSE LIVES THERE.
I got no problem with the Tesla videos!! It's all the work in videos and the modifications that make the videos fun
“Diagnosting it” 🙃23:10
Me in muh backyaurd diagnosting ol bessie
Who the heck doesn't like Tesla content? Especially when it's unique, fun, interesting and honestly kind of educational like this. This is a really fun novel approach and I'm so here for it. If it wasn't for the Tesla content I would have no idea who this channel was.
It's been fun boiz! Unfortunately channel has become something I just don't watch as much anymore. Thanks for everything Kyle! Appreciate the knowledge!
Can’t make everyone happy! It’s completely unique and creative content. Love it!
Waiting for that bonnet to fly open and smash the front windscreen Boyz, but it stayed down.
Going to be an epic V2, I can already see it now! Well done.
Cant wait for more electric sleepers
Never been a big fan of EV's but you know im still loving the content! Honestly, I could probably watch you guys watching paint dry and still have a good time 😂
Day 239 bring back the Honda prelude 😢 I alos I can’t decide if I want to watch the video on tv or my phone 😂
How you on day 239 again lol told you you weren’t on a true streak
@@A.S.B1192thank you so much it’s day 241 😂 I’m human being I’m make mistakes
I often watch on my TV streamed from my phone so I can be in the comments and not have to sacrifice my viewing either. 😂
Do both! 😎
@@goosenotmaverick1156 dude that’s smart I’m start doing that
@@CarsAndChicks you're welcome and enjoy lol
For me it's the best way to stay engaged while engaging with it at the same time. It's the only way you'll watch at home now lol
I love this channel because of the diversity you provide and it shows how you like to keep things fresh with experimental projects.
Honda gang
I think that most youtube channels should not really care about what the viewers think, do what YOU want! Keep being awesome.
Just say Brent and Jamie fool.
😂😂
Honestly I understand that some of the newer Tesla related viewership may not know who they are. They may not know which is which.
U talking about the beginning where he said "we got a shop of friends in colorado"?
Can't wait to see V.2! Ole Lectrician here. Black gloves, have a painted on date from the last air test. If they don't test you buy new ones, gauntlet is to protect. 2000 A. at that voltage will not be pretty, I mean skin graft work. Gloves, face shield, welding jacket or at least sleeves, only cotton clothes, no syn. ya ever get not candy on ya? Anyway, keep on keepin on. oh and no body slam, just have a 4' 2x4 and your good to go.
The little fins in the pyro fuse is call an Arc Chute. It's used to dissipate large electrical arcs that would otherwise blow up the casing or continue to arc across the fuse after it's blown.
HELL YEAH. Love your comment that you're doing this for you. That's the way to live life. Personally, I'm a fan of the Tesla content. You guys make awesome content regardless the subject, be it civics, diesel trucks, teslas, etc.
Really like this project, i know you guys are talented enough to make it incredible, and with 7 people in it, it's going to be the best minivan to carry all the boys !
I just love the engineering in the outlandish projects you guys pump out ... Whatever you do I'm in for the ride, keep up the awesome work guys 👍🏻
