Masterful editing job. Most people won’t notice that you added some sound fx but I hear you and love what you’ve done. Also the magic is also sold by your reactions to the transitions even though you spent time setting everything up. All the way around very well done.
Transitions were inventive and entertaining, just that little bit of awkward feeling, is he going to swing his arm or throw something that knocks the table or Shira, nice tension!

Adding some audio cues and bits would be fun too! Can we get a quack sound bit for covering up swear words or when something goes wrong/astray?

Great Top 10 list. Finally a list shows some love for all 3 of my favorite boardgames. Cyclades, Kemet and Inis are awesome and beautiful games. Each of them feels unique allthough all 3 of them are Area Control Games. Watching your list and entertaining video, makes me think we would match perfect for board game nights. Another great video. Curious about your thoughts on Kemet as a 2 player game. My wife and I mostly play 2 players, and I’ve been interested in Kemet, but have been hesitant. I know it plays better with more, but would it be worth it for 2 players. Thanks and keep up all the new improvements in the videos.
Great mix of games. Where do you rank tic tac toe? Just kidding, I figure it can't be higher than #25. Seriously, why AoS over, say, Steam or Railways of the World? The cuts really add a lot - both in terms of value and, I am sure, editing time.

I have not played a lot of Shira top 10 but I like the same type of games. I'd be very intimidated playing her as I'm certain I'd take a L 90% of the time. Love the new production style.
Would be very interested in the top 20. Would also be VERY INTERESTED to know if any of these drop if you only have 2 players instead of a full group, or rise because of the specific folks you get to play with as a leader of a group of game players?
Some of these would not get played as often with a smaller group. Terraforming Mars, KDM, Zombiecide, Castles of Burgundy, Age of Steam, and Code Names can all play well at 2 though.
I like the transitions and super happy to get images and a brief explanation of the game with it set up in front of you. This allowed me to at least see what the game looks like without needing to go find another video about the game just to find out I don't like the board layout or what it looks like visually. I feel like most top 10 list are just a list and here is the box cover which doesn't help me visualize the game. This worked for me.
I am glad you liked the new style. We are hoping to do this more with Top 10 lists. It has been requested enough times but it added a lot more work in filming and editing.

I really like that Shira displays so much excitement for her picks ... honestly, all the enjoyment you display across all videos makes your videos so entertaining. So glad to see Codenames on here. Seems like it gets a lot of hate since it’s “older” but just as you said, I have a ton of fun with my family. I got into Zombicide late with 2nd Edition and all the praise I hear for Black Plague has had me wanting to pick it up. Just tough with Western and Marvel slated to come up. Lastly, love the transitions.
There's an argument that Decrypto is better than Codenames since the other team also cares about your clues also, but I do still really like Codenames. There's something about tying in a clue to 5 or cards that feels amazing. Granted, it only helps if your team thinks along similar lines, but still, when it all comes together that is more exciting than anything in Decrypto.

Hey, I know from Patreon that you're looking for feedback on your videos. I do videography/photography and have a suggestion: when you have a background that is half lighter and half darker, to position anyone with darker hair/clothing in front of the light side and whoever has lighter/brighter clothing/hair in front of the darker background, for visual balance (i.e. I would have had you switch places for this one). Love the content, just sharing feedback because I know you've been upping your game! The editing is really fun in this one. The channel "you suck at cooking" also has some entertaining editing that could give you some more inspiration!
Seems like there’s huge overlaps in taste with that of Alex. Understand Alex likes Area control. Would love to see your group move into more Euros. They’re strategically more satisfying when you play well. Strongly recommend games like Concordia, Teotihuacan and Gaia Project once you dive into Euros!

Great list, and I like the fact that it has not been sanitised to have a few games of each genre. I certainly get the type of games Shira likes from this list. Play more Ankh, it’s so much more elegant than some of the chosen games and will give a new dimension to your Area Control passion. I think Ares Expedition is a poor Race for the Galaxy with a paint job to look like TM, but I can see why it’s attractive to TM players. Great video, I’d love to see 20-11.

Maybe Shira is the true innovator, or maybe I am just not a big area control person. Age of Steam is on my list to get though. I personally would love to see 11-20.

Solod list and a nice variety. Sure Jessie was very happy to see KDM in the #2 spot. Such a great experience. Sankokushin is dropping an update today. It's been a long time coming and I hope they drop a launch date for the campaign. Looks to be a game to equally sit aside KDM. Such a great theme and beautiful art. Terraforming mars did not supsrise me lol.
Hey! What a great video with great content. As an editor I can see all the effort and prep for this video and I really appreciate it. If I can give a piece of advice is just be careful with the background song volume. In a few parts I felt it was a bit too high and distracting. The Intro was great, the transitions pretty seem less and smooth, sfx on spot, nice and clean cuts. Great job. Content wise, yes I would definitely be interested in top 20, but what about adding some spice to it. What if you do something that you could have some argument over it. Like top games for specific mechanics and than you give arguments over why your pick is better. Idk just an idea.

I just managed to complete my zombicide black plague collection and would love to know what "house rules" Shira likes to use. I have a few of my own to tailor the difficulty but from what I've seen so far we align very strongly in our interests when it comes to games. Awesome list and I'm looking forward to trying and adding them to my own collection over time. Always enjoy the videos Quack!
Terraforming Mars!!!! My number one as well. I'll play this anytime and we own everything for it. Haven't sleeved my copy yet, but otherwise made some upgrades to it but still have a few more I would like to make.

Great list ! I defenitely need to check Kemet and Cyclades now, Inis I already know and is a fantastic mind fu**er . Codenames is great, needs a lot of concentration though, and as such it is not so well suited as a party-game imo, but man, coming up with a clue (after a lot of deep thinking) that is not ambiguous is very statisfying. Great editing of the video as well indeed, it is a very charming touch !
Excellent stuff. Shira’s probably my favorite member to hear from but maybe I am bias because there isn’t a ton of women board gamers on TH-cam. I haven’t played a lot of games on this list but I love Shira’s excitement that I may have to pick up some of them now. Shira, if you ever wanna teach a fellow Clevelander one of your favorite board games, I would love to learn.
Interesting. 50% Area control, though I would have expected Blood rage in the mix,.... since there are so many similar games from 1 genre I would prefere a top 10 mixed with a play this not that for these area controls. And super awesome how you could that video together!
Can't wait for more KDM gameplay, glad it made number 2, been ages since we played it as Covid made our group fall apart so the playthroughs really make me happy as I never know when we'll get to play it again. Glad Shira is enjoying it too and been asking for it, hopefully soon we'll get to see more.

Ok, the list was great, a lot of shared games with my favorite games. But I have to say that the editing effort that this took is way above the standard of board game channels. This is not good, as now I will watch almost all other channels and I'll think...this could be better. But the fact is that if we want non boardgame people to come see our channels, and they see 1990s intros, with basic level editing, I can easily see them leaving before getting "hooked" in the important thing, the games. So thanks for being a trailblazer, even though it must be a ton of work
A lot of excellent games in that top 10 Shira, Cyclades, Castles, Kemet and terraforming mars would be in my top 10 too. I haven't gotten around to trying Root and Kingdom Death yet but they are definitely games I want to try out sometime soon.

Age of Steam is my favourite game and it's great to finally see someone else sharing the love. Really love the list, some of my favourite games and some that I've been really looking forward to trying, especially Cyclades. For something a little different for area control I'd recommend giving Mezo a try, if you haven't already

And yes I would like to know your top 20 because I feel like the top 20 is where it counts the most. 10 games once you've played a lot of games feels too short as a list that I feel that the 10 games following are still really good games.
All the gimmicky fades and transitions made this fun as well to watch. Nice way to keep it visually interesting, but man the time to lay out each of those games to show the table appeal. DAMN. H00t!

Also your reactions in all transactions are there but also very minimum, I love that you guys never try to be clingy in anyway. There are few youtube channels that try so hard to be funny but they are so cringe and that interrupt the watch massively.
The transitions were a lot of fun! I would like to see 11-20 because I think we'd get to see more variety in the games. Not that I mind seeing so much area control getting some love. :)

Don't even have these on my list, mainly because Ive never played them, other then Root on the Pc version. Did get the new Castles of Burgundy based of ever ones recommendation.

I like being transparent but it sometimes helps with the retention on the video when people don't know what is coming and want to see the surprise.

Jesse, you probably played Cyclades with the Titan's expansion. That changes the map into a large landmass with less ocean.

Wow... just wow... Shira and Jesse, this editing job is fantastic! I LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to see the game components laid out. I would love to see this going forward for any top lists!
Great list, and I like the fact that it has not been sanitised to have a few games of each genre. I certainly get the type of games Shira likes from this list. Play more Ankh, it’s so much more elegant than some of the chosen games and will give a new dimension to your Area Control passion. I think Ares Expedition is a poor Race for the Galaxy with a paint job to look like TM, but I can see why it’s attractive to TM players. Great video, I’d love to see 20-11.

Great video! LOVE the transitions and the energy. It's interesting to me that I own none of the games in Shira's top 10, and several in Jesse's. Maybe Shira is the true innovator, or maybe I am just not a big area control person. Age of Steam is on my list to get though. I personally would love to see 11-20.
Love all of the fun transitions and camera tricks, haha. I had to rewind and watch them a couple of times.
As for Shira's picks! Man I was so hyped by all of the Matagot love, that trilogy is also in my top 15, in the same order, so great! Then... you lost me with the top 3, haha. All good though! Great video!

Solod list and a nice variety. Sure Jessie was very happy to see KDM in the #2 spot. Such a great experience. Sankokushin is dropping an update today. It's been a long time coming and I hope they drop a launch date for the campaign. Looks to be a game to equally sit aside KDM. Such a great theme and beautiful art. Terraforming mars did not supsrise me lol.
Hey! What a great video with great content. As an editor I can see all the effort and prep for this video and I really appreciate it. If I can give a piece of advice is just be careful with the background song volume. In a few parts I felt it was a bit too high and distracting. The Intro was great, the transitions pretty seem less and smooth, sfx on spot, nice and clean cuts. Great job. Content wise, yes I would definitely be interested in top 20, but what about adding some spice to it. What if you do something that you could have some argument over it. Like top games for specific mechanics and than you give arguments over why your pick is better. Idk just an idea.

I just managed to complete my zombicide black plague collection and would love to know what "house rules" Shira likes to use. I have a few of my own to tailor the difficulty but from what I've seen so far we align very strongly in our interests when it comes to games. Awesome list and I'm looking forward to trying and adding them to my own collection over time. Always enjoy the videos Quack!
Terraforming Mars!!!! My number one as well. I'll play this anytime and we own everything for it. Haven't sleeved my copy yet, but otherwise made some upgrades to it but still have a few more I would like to make.

Great list ! I defenitely need to check Kemet and Cyclades now, Inis I already know and is a fantastic mind fu**er . Codenames is great, needs a lot of concentration though, and as such it is not so well suited as a party-game imo, but man, coming up with a clue (after a lot of deep thinking) that is not ambiguous is very statisfying. Great editing of the video as well indeed, it is a very charming touch !
Excellent stuff. Shira’s probably my favorite member to hear from but maybe I am bias because there isn’t a ton of women board gamers on TH-cam. I haven’t played a lot of games on this list but I love Shira’s excitement that I may have to pick up some of them now. Shira, if you ever wanna teach a fellow Clevelander one of your favorite board games, I would love to learn.
Interesting. 50% Area control, though I would have expected Blood rage in the mix,.... since there are so many similar games from 1 genre I would prefere a top 10 mixed with a play this not that for these area controls.

been ages since we played it as Covid made our group fall apart so the playthroughs really make me happy as I never know when we'll get to play it again.

Ok, the list was great, a lot of shared games with my favorite games. But I have to say that the editing effort that this took is way above the standard of board game channels. This is not good, as now I will watch almost all other channels and I'll think...this could be better.
But the fact is that if we want non boardgame people to come see our channels, and they see 1990s intros, with basic level editing, I can easily see them leaving before getting "hooked" in the important thing, the games. So thanks for being a trailblazer, even though it must be a ton of work
Having Cyclades & Inis? Maybe those 2 can merge and have 1 honourable mention take its place ;)

A lot of excellent games in that top 10 Shira, Cyclades, Castles, Kemet and terraforming mars would be in my top 10 too. I haven't gotten around to trying Root and Kingdom Death yet but they are definitely games I want to try out sometime soon.

Age of Steam is my favourite game and it's great to finally see someone else sharing the love. Really love the list, some of my favourite games and some that I've been really looking forward to trying, especially Cyclades.
For something a little different for area control I'd recommend giving Mezo a try, if you haven't already

You are wrong about 0 of them because it's your top 10 and it belongs top you and only you 😉. And yes I would like to know your top 20 because I feel like the top 20 is where it counts the most. 10 games once you've played a lot of games feels too short as a list that I feel that the 10 games following are still really good games.

All the gimmicky fades and transitions made this fun as well to watch. Nice way to keep it visually interesting, but man the time to lay out each of those games to show the table appeal. DAMN. H00t!
Masterful edit jobs. This is kind of thing that make your channel unique. Also your reactions in all transactions are there but also very minimum, I love that you guys never try to be clingy in anyway. There are few youtube channels that try so hard to be funny but they are so cringe and that interrupt the watch massively.

Don't even have these on my list, mainly because Ive never played them, other then Root on the Pc version. Did get the new Castles of Burgundy based of ever ones recommendation.
