Comments are always welcome unfortunately his staff who made the research seem to be biased he should took the seat in the middle. We the 31M who voted for BBM understood the message of unity it's been 36 years and since then the recent 6 yrs of PRRD somewhat gave us hope and we want the gradual change be continued for the better. Foreigners does not know our rea and fulll history and if you want to make a comment best to be in the middle and make sure you know both side of the story. Thank you Sir.

My father's side of the family was an almost victim during martial law, but he never bad-mouthed nor blamed the Marcoses. It's just that there will always be those who abuses power when given. The incident is similar to tanim-bala, but they instead leave you a gun.

When his father stepped down from his position, the people were expecting that the Philippines would become more progressive, but from there, the country slowly plunged to poverty. So, after more than 30 years of suffering, the wise Filipino people eventually woke up and realized that Marcos' regime was better than his successors. Then, they decided to bring back another Marcos to redeem the country. It is not that those who voted him are dumb. They were awakened by the fact that those who replaced Marcos then did nothing for the country but demonize Marcos.

BBM garnered approximately 57% - 60% of votes. That's majority (if not supermajority).
    This is democracy at work.
The 2nd placer (Leni) got 25% of the total votes - not even half of BBM's numbers.
The remaining 15% - 18% went to those 8 other presidential candidates.
The focus of Project Nightfall's video was more on discrediting BBM thru his father's works - this is BBM that the majority supported so Project Nightfall seems to be provoking those 60%.
Hence the outburst of most of the Filipino people.
We've already had enough of the mudslinging during the campaign period.
His video is only causing further divide within the Philippines when we need healing to start.

    • @hoax014

True. His video just show those youngster's negative ideas towards incoming administration. He did not even show or asked people of different ages whom experienced the life during Martial Law on what really happened that time. Like how would those young people be scared if they did not even experience the life during that time when people whom experienced Martial Law claims different and saying the life at the time is at ease and secured.

I am old and a living witness about the martial law in the Philippines. Me and my family lived well during this times it was safer during those time. As a child I should say I have enjoyed everything Marcos had done to the Philippines. Those who were affected and killed, majority of them are the enemy of the state. They were collateral damages, the same thing happened even during the succeeding presidents after Marcos implementing their own policy on how to run the government. They need to check what happened after Marcos, the same things happened. There were so many deaths also why is it that they only single out Marcos? Check the facts of history...

@@kbc24x7 sure there were atrocities, but to associate the entire regime to it alone is not fair. Every regime has its share of atrocities, even Cory's term has a record of 731 victims just within her first 2 years yet she was painted like a saint by the pop media. Meanwhile, there were only 3,257 victims spread out over 8 years of martial law against the rest of the millions of population who say that life was better off back then. You have to consider the ratio of testimonies to rate a narrative's accuracy.

The reason why we Pinoys are disappointed or pissed about that TH-camr is due to the fact he is a foreigner. It is in our Law that foreigners are not allowed to join political rallies or even comment about our sovereign nation negatively. Any foreigner that does so can be investigated by the PNP, NBI and DOJ and if found guilty, then this foreigner can be deported (if they are in the Philippines) and then they are blacklisted from entering the Philippines -- for LIFE.
It has already occurred many times. In the past, a foreigner (not sure what nationality) joined a rally and was shouting at a police officer. The cop cried due the the man's insults. That foreigner was arrested, deported and blacklisted from entering the Philippines. There was also a time when a nun was at some labor rally, and she too was deported and blacklisted.

My Father is in the military during martial law. When we were kids he always told stories about how great life was when President Marcos and how peaceful it was.
My mother a public school teacher said every child eats healthy food because as President Marcos said it's hard to learn when your stomach is empty. Let's not only give a healthy mind to our young generation, we need to also make sure they have a healthy body. His fight for hunger and malnutrition program doesn't stop on schools it also extended to the kids family members.
That's why people who live in that era acknowledge the good work of the Marcos.
    Hospitals, schools and highways.
Projects nightfall researchers need to really be careful with reacting with regards to Philippine politics.
The Philippines is trying hard to have a brighter future.
    We wanted to change.
His video was upsetting because it is bias that's why Filipinos are upset.
If he lives in the Philippines or see things first hand, he can base that on his opinion but he just based his facts the experience of other people for this election.
Relaying on the facts you see in the internet or some for people you interviewed is not enough.
You want to paint the whole picture? You must go and dig deep and really do ground research so no one can say your being biased.
Remember the Filipinos are tired of biased broadcasting and people keep putting us in a bad light.
Project nightfall is one example of misinformation across the internet that hit a hard spot to some Filipinos who look forward to a good future.
It's ok to have an opinion and make videos about it but it needs to be backed up with correct evidence and if your using your own experience you need to still be respectful.
Also his title was hateful. Painting Bongbong Marcos in a bad light that affect the majority of the people who voted for him for presidency.

Fyi: Foreigners are not allowed to talk anything about the elections in the Philippines or anything that could happen in the country because government can blacklist them or got deported. “Foreigners joining mass actions and protests, including election campaigns disrespect our prescribed laws and is considered as a violation of their stay in the Philippines,” he said in a statement.
Morente added that those holders of permanent residence visas are barred from engaging in such activities, as they are not vested with the same political rights and privileges as a Filipino citizen.
He warned that they have zero tolerance for foreigners who will be “meddling in the internal affairs of the Philippines as a sovereign nation.”
“We are sending this early reminder as we have encountered so many deportation cases of foreigners who have engaged in political activities in the past,” he said.
“Those foreigners who will be found guilty of such acts, especially electioneering, shall be deported and blacklisted, perpetually barring them from returning to the Philippines,” the Bureau of Immigration commissioner added.
Pls. read this before you say something about the freedom of foreigners speaking about elections. 🙂

In my opinion, Filipinos' reaction on this dude's video is valid. There's a line that says "between the lines". Despite him trying not to side any politicians by not mentioning other than bbm; however, the way he presented him(bbm) almost emphasizing the marcoses negatively(even the title of his video made the whole content one sided and improper) and the emotion he strongly and dramatically exerted in conveying a message to his viewers with those lines [e.g. freedom of speech in our country is being oppressed, causing fear and that the young generations are in danger because of bbm becoming president, etc.) while using unrelated videos supporting his statement creating confusions and interpreting a message different from those videos' real cases. If only they interviewed the most suitable people to share their opinions, the elders, those who truly witnessed marcos regime then maybe Filipinos would not attack(though they should have to but this guy not only once crossed the line) him that much.
In short, it was the unspoken words that angered the Pinoys. Filipinos' knowledge is not limited within the four corners of a box. especially in the history of not just Ph but also abour the world. Remember, Ph, a country that has been invaded by so many countries. So the unspoken intention, its impact to the filipino viewers is different from you since we are the first receiver.
This isn't the first this dude who never been to the ph meddled in politics. Saying things on behalf of just few Filipinos who are against the government.

She said, when she was still an elemetary student, in a broad daylight, she was walking going to school.
Then there's a commotion going on, Marcos Sr. passed by.
She was surprised why she's the only girl among her classmates who were given praises and encouragement from Marcos Sr, then he left shortly.
I've recorded our conversation just in case I need it in the future.

No matter how he sympathise with us, he'll never get our struggles. I'm not a bbm fan but I do understand how fed up people are from the liberal party, the opposition party of bbm for this election.
Speaking on our politics and straight up calling everyone who voted bbm as trolls is an Insult. He deserves the hate.

the police tearing up the balots, as a poll watcher (we observed the ellection rooms the whole entire period), after counting the balots, and do the transmission of the result, the people assigned (mostly teachers) to supervised the elections will tear up the balot papers (empty/no shade balots) so that it wont be used. people are allowed to see it being torn.
idk what time it was on the video though.

This incident is a bit like the Claire Danes incident two decades ago about her experience in Manila. But I guess all countries have that kind of law that foreigners are not allowed to join political rallies and that they don't have the same privilege as the citizens, in this case the Filipinos, to express their opinion/political views or to criticize the gov't or any politicians. For an outsider, it's considered as a sign of disrespect to the country & its citizens. The existence of social media blurred that line to most of us. This incident is a reminder not only to Project Nighfall as well as to all content creators and even us viewers to at least choose our words nicely if not wisely. I can feel that they tried to keep it balanced but it was actually bound to offend everyone.
Plus this year's election is like a walk on fire, everyone was so passionate! There's a lot of negative campaigning thrown in all direction and when some sh*t finally hits the fan, the casuality is very clear (lamang pa si 🥊). The battle is not only through IQ but EQ as well. Filipinos want change as well as continuity and I think most of us felt that BBM and Sara Duterte (as a VP) are already the clear choice. My sympathy for the kakampinks (they are the clear winner for the most passionate btw) but Leni's early statements before she ran (in the context of "she will run because bbm will run") and her associations with the liberal party/yellows dragged her down plus that "let me educate you" tactic has done her more harm than help. People would find that annoying and to some extent a little offensive😬.
But looking back, even before the campaign started, we already can guess who the winner(s) will be. That landslide win just hits the nail on the head.🤷

I think why we Filipinos reacted so much to his video because he dramatized it so much. He emphasized that people here are now shaking for our lives because a Marcos will be seated. What is so pathetic about this statement is that the same people who said that they are shaking in fear are out on the streets rallying-pathetic right. If they are really afraid they would have fled the Philippines or have already gone into hiding. The problem with organizations like "project nightfall" is that they like dramatizing and magnifying things so that people will take about it, the thing is, it does not help. It causes more chaos.

On the debate issue of BBM
When he ran for VP last 2012, he attended debates vs all the VP candidates including Allan Cayetano and Leni Robredo herself. I must say he really did a good job!
The problem during debates is that it often tackle personal opinion based criticisms and never talk about the platforms or current problems of the Philippines, they attack with baseless accusations and worst even end up tarnishing one's personality. It doesn't have to be like this, but this has become a habit in the Philippines, that during debates you must destroy and degrade your enemies in politics.
If they really want to know how brilliant BBM is, they should've researched more, they can watch senate committee hearings, interviews from local and international, they could have access the archives of the senate for his essays or whatever reports in line with being a legislator, which in any way or form is more accurate and relevant than TV network's biased, unrealistic and pre-planned questionnaires.
I would personally commend BBM for breaking the traditional "gossip-like-debate" in the Philippines.
He's setting trends and people love it, im sorry. 31million Filipinos loved and support it! ❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚

the only debates bbm ever attended in 2022 is the smni presidential which doesn't indicate any bias and actually talks about the problems about the country and let the candidates speak their idealogies which bbm quickly took the spotlight and ironically enough doesn't have leni nor any of other 3 leading candidates behind him (isko, manny and lacson) which says alot itself.

That can also happen to you Ovela, So foreigners who don't know the History of The Philippines should just keep quiet, I know that the Marcos Family is not a dictator, according to my grandfather, the life of the Filipinos was very good during the marcos era, The Philippines is richer compared to Singapore during the Marcos era, The Philippines is one of the most active country on social media, so those who make videos about the marcos family should be careful, do you know what happened to nas daily, almost half of his folowers are Filipino, but when he did something bad in The Philippines, he lost almost half of his followers in just 24 hours.

Foreigners are welcome in our country to explore the beauty of the Philippines and make new friends. Filipinos are known for being friendly BUT there is always an exception being a foreign in our country. Foreigners are not allowed to mingle or interfere in politics. As for me, who is living overseas, I do not have the right to say anything or interfere in their politics as if I am not one of their citizens. The majority of Filipinos already speak, so please respect our decision. Whatever the outcomes of our decision, the blame is on us!!

I am at my young age during the martial law but it is still very clear in my memory that, that was the best time in my life.. Our life was so peaceful, u can even walk at night without worrying about your safety.. Prices of prime commodities were very cheap.. We have supplies of oats, milk, medicines specially in the government schools.. Every month there is a doctor or dentist visiting the children in schools. If we make comparison to the succeeding government after Marcos, it's away more better during his time but PRRD is doing great too..
