That Wi-Fi dongle was absolutely the most unreliable beauty it kicked me out of many halo reach lobbies but damn it came in clutch my neighbors didn’t have a password for there Wi-Fi
i used a wifi repeater for all of my 360s they were like 17 bucks and so reliable. wifi repeater connected to your router via WPS and connected to the console via ethernet.
I remember Skyrim took AGEEEES to load. It took like a full minute so you could play again after opening a door. When the Xbox One came I played the whole game again and it was super fast.
My friend had a 360E a few years ago It was the first time i ever played games on a console and i absolutely fell in love with the og Forza Horizon 1 Now in 2024, 4 months ago i got my own first console ever the PS5 and I enjoy playing games on it
they did the towel trick when you brought in your 360?! in an actual store?! you could just send it in to MS for warranty and they would send you a new (well different, think they were refurbished) console. had to do it twice within warranty (which doesn't start again when you get a replacement console btw so I also bought the new black model when my warranty had run out)

i've had my ps3 for as long as i can remember and made plenty of memories with it, got a 2nd ps3 for free, bought a wii just two weeks ago for its unique ergonomics and party-focused nature, and now i'm thinking of filling out the trio and buying an xbox 360 just for the hell of it the only exclusive that i'm interested in playing is forza horizon 1, though there's also the factor of better optimization for 3rd party games over the ps3, anyway it might be worth it considering the insanely low costs for a 7th gen console these days, and my current pc is just barely too weak without overclocking to run fh1 at what i consider a playable framerate
When I was 10 I got the OG Black Xbox 360 Elite in 2009 MW2 and Halo 3 being my first games, nothing will ever top gaming like that time period, so glad I got to grow up with it!
I agree. I remember when Halo 3 came out. Pre ordered, waited for months and bought the elite with it. Definately a time in gaming I will always remember.
The duke is the most comfortable. 360 is the gold standard for any age, it's also very, extremely, ridiculously durable. Since the One... they feel like toys. It's such a cheap plastic. I'll never buy a new Microsoft controller ever again. I'm sticking with Gamesir for life or until a better company comes along.

The PS3, 360 and Wii era was gaming at its peak. We had so much creative innovation with franchises and alot of memorable classics from that console generation. It's thanks to the success of the 360 Sony actually had to step it up, because their $599 pricing for PS3 in 2006 made them come off as they tried to become the Apple of home consoles/gaming.
The saddest part is that newer generations will have no idea of what it was like even if they play all the games from that era. The set and setting is extremely important. The society, the culture, the music; the kind of displays we all had, from the last, most advanced CRT's to the newer LCDs. It all came with a vibe that you cannot replicate today because now you know you are faking it for just a moment in your room and that's it. Gaming is gone as we knew it for decades. It's time for the indie scene and mod communities to shine like never before.
Just shows how easily people are tricked really. Sony is also not Microsoft with practically infinite money, who could subsidise all aspects of the development costs and then subsidise the cost of the console much heavier than the competition.

What I miss the most is being able to put a disc in and it being ready to play immediately not having to wait for it to download even after buying the disc version
There are over 200 non-backward compatible games for the 360, with many of them not having a physical release. Plus, you won't be able to buy any DLC for 360 games, even if you have it on disc.
@@starzhvh Ahh the old reset glitch hack consoles. I had one back in the day that would sometimes take a minute to boot or 20 minutes. This was back when they first came out with the slim consoles. Just look at FH and FH2 and its DLC. It's gone from store, no possible way to purchase it, or play it. Homebrew and hacking enable that kind of content that gets delisted to still be available to people who want it. Archiving and playing older content is a good thing. Not even being able to purchase it anymore is a total shame. I'd have loved to play FH2's DLC, even the Fast and the furious version of the game etc. But without a viable XB1 mod there's simply no way to. I'd buy it if possible, but because of licenses it has to basically disappear forever .
Im pretty sure that if you buy an xbox 360 game on a 360 and use the same account as your xbox one/series and it is backwards compatible it will be in your library on the newer consoles.

Right at Christmas, I did send it back for Microsoft repair, which was a joke, came back in worst shape, worked 15min. I decided to do the ole costco switcharoo.....buy a new one at costco, swap hardrives, put broken xbox in costco box and return for no question asked refund. Microsoft did it to themselfs..... I was a 14 year old kid who spent every penny he saved up ($800) canadain dollars and it took months to repair and get back broken....the new one lasted me the untill xbox one cane out. The 360 eventually red ringed and I got a used xbox one out of a guys trunk for 150$ when they were only like a year old 😂 never buy a brand new console again....other then maybe an oled steam deck

I noticed that Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena is still available digitally on the 360 for $15. It sadly didn't make it to the backwards compatibility program.
The 360 was the best generation. It had Halo 3 & 4, Forza 2-4, Dead Island 1 & 2, (almost got Dying Light too), Bioshock 1 & 2 & Infinite, Crysis 2, (and later Crysis), Bad Company 1 & 2, (where is 3?!), Far Cry 2-4, Tom; Raider.... the next generations mainly got refills and enhanced games from the 360 just to have blockbusters. Forza 4 never got backwards compatible. 😂

Any games you own that are backwards compatible will show up on the latest console. You can't buy 360 games you don't already own using the latest console (and you won't be able to buy 360 games from a 360 either once the store closes), and any game that isn't on the backwards compatible list won't show up to play on the latest console even if you own it.
I highly doubt xbox live itself on 360 is going anywhere. First and foremost, these games we own and they can't just take the downloads away, and secondly, the 360 infrastructure is still in use by people playing the games on xbox series consoles.

I was not a fan of the 360, I got one from a garage sale for $5, it works. Never played a game longer than 10 minutes, before going back on my ps3,4,5. I bought a one s, it plays most of the same games, and dead rising 3, which I got it for. I don’t see why people are spending so much money for games that they can still play, on newer hardware. I know there are some that don’t, but there are so many that do.
I've definitely been hitting the 360 store since the announcement, but only getting exclusive content. There are still a number of games that sound like old exclusives but are available on Steam. Not getting the backwards compatible games, since I can still buy them on the Xbox One for now. Only buying single player/still online games that are exclusive to the 360 store, or if the physicals are crazy expensive. Also getting DLC for games that aren't backwards compatible, Like Rock Band 3 or Sonic '06 (I don't know if I want Sonic DLC, but better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it). Also Avatar items. A lot of older brands and items for the avatars are crazy and not really expensive (at least in comparison to cosmetic costs now). Would love to see a video about physical Game of the Year editions with the DLC already installed and whether they work on the newer Xbox consoles. The 2nd Disc trick varies I think.
The original was the best imo. I was an Xbox user for the 360 as well, but they lost me forever with the crap they tried to pull at Xbone launch. Went back to Sony with the PS4 and never looked back since. Also, Playstation have perfected their controller game since the DualShock 4. The Dualshock 3 was god awful which made the 360's offering the indisputable king but they quickly fixed their mistakes with the next gen.
I have the 360 versions on disc cause they aren't backward compatible... and some of them are on sale right now in the 360 store so I bought them and downloaded them to have them ready in my 360
I have 3 360s a black elite, The Halo 3 version, and a slim silver reach version. Yes I like Halo! My point is I'm going to hook one of them up and see what's up

360 controllers is the most comfortable controllers hands down in my opinion.
They're certainly comfortable but, in my opinion, they're a little too small. The newer xbox controllers feel better to me.
I think I like the series controlers a little better but it's close.
I prefer the Duke. It fits my hand perfectly and doesn't inflame my arthritis.

Eh? You can just open the store in the console and search for the 360 and even the first xbox, there's even like a tab or filter to select 360 and OG xbox games that are compatible to play one the new xbox...

The 360 was the best generation. It had Halo 3 & 4, Forza 2-4, Dead Island 1 & 2, (almost got Dying Light too), Bioshock 1 & 2 & Infinite, Crysis 2, (and later Crysis), Bad Company 1 & 2, (where is 3?!), Far Cry 2-4, Tom; Raider.... the next generations mainly got refills and enhanced games from the 360 just to have blockbusters.
Forza 4 never got backwards compatible. 😂

the games were great but that launch console was complete 🦮💩 what microsoft should be doing is migrating the 360's library over to modern storefronts and make more games backwards compatible. but no, we get Lame Pass instead.

Perhaps I'm mistaken but are 360 games not on the latest consoles? Your tone near the end almost felt as if all these backward compatible games were just going to disappear.
Any games you own that are backwards compatible will show up on the latest console. You can't buy 360 games you don't already own using the latest console (and you won't be able to buy 360 games from a 360 either once the store closes), and any game that isn't on the backwards compatible list won't show up to play on the latest console even if you own it.
I highly doubt xbox live itself on 360 is going anywhere. First and foremost, these games we own and they can't just take the downloads away, and secondly, the 360 infrastructure is still in use by people playing the games on xbox series consoles.

Should have played "Singularity" on the 360 (Its not backward compatible). By god its a superb game, even in 2024 it shines! (also shows you just how much of the story Titanfall 2 basically stole!)
Didnt Xbox 1 LAUNCH with a manditory kinect???? pretty sure... its why it was same price and underpowered vs the base OG ps4.. and a big reason why the xbox 1 started off so poorly to be fair HASnt recovered to playstation since..... nobody gave a damn about kinect and they forced it down our consumers throats... I was not a fan of the 360, I got one from a garage sale for $5, it works. Never played a game longer than 10 minutes, before going back on my ps3,4,5. I bought a one s, it plays most of the same games, and dead rising 3, which I got it for. I don’t see why people are spending so much money for games that they can still play, on newer hardware. I know there are some that don’t, but there are so many that do.
I've definitely been hitting the 360 store since the announcement, but only getting exclusive content. There are still a number of games that sound like old exclusives but are available on Steam. Not getting the backwards compatible games, since I can still buy them on the Xbox One for now. Only buying single player/still online games that are exclusive to the 360 store, or if the physicals are crazy expensive.
Also getting DLC for games that aren't backwards compatible, Like Rock Band 3 or Sonic '06 (I don't know if I want Sonic DLC, but better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it). Also Avatar items. A lot of older brands and items for the avatars are crazy and not really expensive (at least in comparison to cosmetic costs now).
Would love to see a video about physical Game of the Year editions with the DLC already installed and whether they work on the newer Xbox consoles. The 2nd Disc trick varies I think.
The original was the best imo. I was an Xbox user for the 360 as well, but they lost me forever with the crap they tried to pull at Xbone launch. Went back to Sony with the PS4 and never looked back since. Also, Playstation have perfected their controller game since the DualShock 4. The Dualshock 3 was god awful which made the 360's offering the indisputable king but they quickly fixed their mistakes with the next gen.

I have the 360 versions on disc cause they aren't backward compatible... and some of them are on sale right now in the 360 store so I bought them and downloaded them to have them ready in my 360
I have 3 360s a black elite, The Halo 3 version, and a slim silver reach version. Yes I like Halo! My point is I'm going to hook one of them up and see what's up
i still use my for when friends are over and we want to play some nhl 2015 XD Sad day. I wont ever buy a console after I bought my Halo 3 edition 360 now that I am on CPU personally... Just bring NHL to computer and than I would never want a console , ever.
There are a ton of games that only work on the 360. Vigilante 8 Arcade and the XBLA South Park games are good examples.
If you cant afford a series x or s, then You can easily pick up a one X for about £100 or one s for even less, but No, dont ever buy a 360, even if its £30... my nephew bought the last revision made before the One.... the 360 E, with hdmi and it still red ringed.. M$ never fixed it.. So do yourself a favour and keep away from the dead 360
The 360 was my first Xbox after having the s1 & ps2. Still on Xbox now which my kids use.
I do like the fact that this console is usable longer than 20 years, one thing Microsoft did great. Mine is still in perfect shape. Apple console wouldn't even last 5 years before unsupported probably
And I still have my original Xbox 360 I got from the Mountain Dew "Every 10 Minutes" giveaway and got it a few days before it officially came out. And it still works, though I did have to modify it to fix the Red Ring of Death.
Remember how Sony shut down the PS3 and Vita stores temporarily and then re-opened it after backlash? Microsoft needs to do the same for the Xbox 360 or else customers will be very mad, considering all the other fuck-ups Microsoft has.
